The new TSX with it’s high tech 2.4-liter dohc incline-4 kicks out 201 bhp and 172 lb-ft of torque, guaranteed to give you that giddy (or uneasy) feeling in the bottom of your stomach when you punch it. That’s a 8 lb-ft of torque bump when compared to the previous model (providing a significant increase in power through a wider rpm range) and it is 2.4in. longer and 3.0 in. wider. This TSX may be bigger and heavier but it has the muscle to back it up, and is even more fuel efficient than it’s predecessor; meeting ULEV standards with 21/30mpg, city/highway.

The exterior boasts sharp lines with rails inside the body giving a professional elegance while dispensing unnecessary protrusions from the underbody, leading to a more aerodynamic shape. A new grille with a large graphic is framed by wrap around headlights reminiscent of a racecar. The transmission is offered in a slick Sequential SportShift 5-speed automatic, complete with paddle shifters, or a close-ratio 6-speed manual.

Acura hasn’t spent all their time on the refined exterior. One sees a new level of extravagance once you doors are opened. New seats with soft leather and ample cushioning make everyone comfortable, while the in-dash navigation system comes with an optional new technology package run through satellite radio. The real-time traffic reports combined with real-time weather guarantees a smooth trip through the city or country. And get this; the sound engineer from The Eagles created a 10-speaker sound system with DVD audio capability that reflects the accoustics of the band;s own recording studio. Affordable and reliable, yet smooth as silk, and with a high performance engine that is nothing to laugh at, many consumers will be visiting their Acura dealer with cash in hand this upcoming year.

Actually.. while its a very nice engine.. it is not nearly enough to power this car to any kind of fun level. Its not enough in the outgoing model, and certainly won’t be enough in the bigger, heavier new model.
