Skeptics have wondered how Audi’s purchase of the Lamborghini brand would affect overall design and performance of the Gallardo. Since its release, those questions have been answerd, loudly. The V-10 in this powerful animal has the designation LP560/4, and generates a pavement scorching 560 horsepower. That’s 40 more horse than the previous model, and, this baby is all-wheel drive (incase you want to use it as a snow plow in the winter). This means that the Gallardo will do 0-60 mph in less than 3.7 seconds and if you find yourself on a stretch of road that the long arm of the law can’t reach, it will do over 200 mph.
Lamborghini’s top selling model, the Murcialago, influenced the posterior and longitudinal positioning of the Gallardo’s engine. The Murcialago model isn’t expected to be changed this year but the Superveloce version will be released at the Paris show this fall and be available for purchase by next year. But don’t worry, you don’t have to wait that long for the Gallardo, it is scheduled to be in the U.S. by August.
Subtle changes to the front and rear make this Lambo fiercer than before and the new black alloys lend a super spy feel to the car. There is an opulent suede interior that blankets everything from the dash, steering wheel, and seats in swanky material. Besides a few more controls on the instrument panel the cabin remains unchanged. The intakes on the front end have grown larger and now resemble the pronounced check bones of a runway supermodel. No, it doesn’t come with a gorgeous blond, but we think you’ll have no problem finding one driving this masterpiece.
