Restyled and redesigned for 2007, the Morgan Aero-8 brings you back to a simpler place and time - without sacrificing the benefits of modern technology. It’s short and stout with a muscular front end that calls to mind 1940s European cars, and is considered a “true Morgan Thoroughbred”. The advanced aluminum chassis technology, powerful V-8 engine, and drag torque control bring this model into the spotlight.
According to Morgan Motor Co. , the goal with the Morgan Aero-8 was to remain faithful to tradition and a long-standing commitment to quality, while stretching the boundaries of creativity. Morgan widened the cockpit by about 6 inches, added a heated front screen and implemented tire-pressure and temperature monitoring technology.
The Morgan Aero-8’s 4.4L V-8 BMW engine provides 325 horsepower and 331 lb.-ft. of torque, while still remaining within the emissions requirements imposed by the United States. It accelerates from zero to 62 in just under 4.5 seconds, which is surprising considering the shape and construction of the vehicle. It comes standard with cruise control, headlight wash, remote boot release and remote control locking.
Other options for the Morgan Aero-8 include leather interior, wood-stained accents, door pockets for maps and other belongings and two-tone paintwork. Of course, despite the technological upgrades and the significant exterior redesign, many car enthusiasts would rather purchase a genuine classic than this impressive throw-back, and authenticity is certainly a factor.
