Can you get true protection from a budget-priced radar detector? You may not have heard yet, but there's been some significant news from Cobra Electronics and Whistler Group: Each claims they've introduced their best-performing radar detectors ever.. read on:

Cruising Costco recently, I noticed they almost always have a budget detector or two floating around from Whistler or Cobra - sometimes both. It sparked me to do a little research.. and after hitting up serveral sites and reading dozens of threads.. it appears that Cobra detectors are UTTER CRAP!! They have a stron tendency to set OFF other detectors, appearing as actual radar transmitters. Weird huh?
Apparently Whistler has a much higher performance for the buck, if you want a cheapo.. however, you still want to spend about 100-150 for their higher end XTR or Pro models. While not great, they rank pretty well considering the price.
I am shocked at how bad Cobras are though - thought others should be aware! Cheap is dear, as my grandfather used to say.

Street course? getting there, but a course that the driver has not driven, through all sorts of nasty terrain, hitting ridiculous speeds? Rally my friends!

Honestly they are differnt cars. One can't beat the classic design of the Disco that we all know and love. I picture it going through a river in Africa or a jungle in Brazil. The Disco is less rugged and more decadent, which isn't always a bad thing. For those soccer moms that live in the counrty but still go clubbing with their ladies in the cities this is a hot ride!

A trip to your local dealership would be worth it just to check out this fine piece.

Subaru continues with their longstanding use of the boxer engine in the Impreza. According to Subaru, their configuration of the engine
inline with the transmission minimizes body roll due to the lower
center of gravity compared with the offset engines in most other
vehicles. The Subaru layout is also light-weight and lends itself
easily to support all-wheel-drive. The boxer design provides perfect
vibration mitigation due to the fact that the movement of each piston
is exactly countered by the corresponding piston in the opposing
cylinder bank, eliminating the need for a counter-rotating weighted
crankshaft. She'll hammer, that's for sure.

Im running the
Continental ContiSportContact 2, recently reviewed by Car and Driver as well as reccomended by my mechanic. This tire holds very well in wet conditions yet still feels sporty on dry asphalt. So far, I am happy with my purchase.
