The Concept EV9 is a clear hint at what Kia has cooking, to add yet another new-generation model to the line-up. This massive SUV represents the company's strength in the design and development of tech-laden, zero-emissions cars that are hugely desirable.

Much like the EV6, the EV9 too, is an all-electric product from Kia. It has been developed on Kia's advanced Electric Global Modular Platform. It is said that the design of the SUV has been inspired by nature, and it uses upcycled materials made from waste deposits in the marine ecosystem. If you find the SUV attractive, you've got to hand to Kia's 'Opposites United' design philosophy. The SUV's wide range of technology and all-round flexibility are only some of the characteristics that make it appealing.

There's no denying the fact that the EV9 looks rugged - and its upright stance is exactly what every SUV buyer looks for. The proportions are not out of place, and the outline of the vehicle instantly tell you it's a three-row SUV. The message Kia wants to send out to its consumers, is that the EV9 will be a very capable and practical SUV. The angular body panels on the concept offer an old-school boxy SUV styling, a distinct look against the landscape of electric crossovers.

The protruding fenders are inspired by sharp crystaline, giving the SUV a butch stance. It seems to offer terrific road presence and the sharp-edged elements give it the modern look it deserves. The SUV is said to deliver a range of 300 miles and features ultra-fast charging technology, and the 350-kW charger replenishes energy within half an hour.

The iconic 'Tiger Face' has been retained on the Concept EV9. The entire front-end is body-colored. The BEV-focused grille incorporates a star cloud pattern masked by the body panel. The SUV features vertical DRLs at the front and rear, giving it a signature look. The rear is no compromise when it comes to styling either, and the D-pillar forms a neat daylight opening signature.

The Kia's Concept EV9 Has An Impressive And Comfortable Interior

The cabin is beautifully put together. Just like the exterior. The interior too, has been influenced by the 'Bold for Nature' design pillar of Opposites United. The cabin incorporates the 'qualities of nature' as part of a scenic, first-class lounge. It features a panoramic sunroof, a 27-inch ultra-wide display that doubles up as nerve center for the passenger's necessities, relating to media, climate control and other comfort functions. A unique feature includes a pop-up steering pad as well.

The Concept EV9 comes with three interior modes: Active, Pause and Enjoy. 'Active' ensures the occupants have the best driving experience while on the move, while the other two function when the EV9 is stationary. 'Pause' modifies the interior space to give passengers a first-class lounge experience; even the seats are made to turn and face each other and the second-row seats fold down, changing into a table, in this mode. 'Enjoy' makes the third-row turn around, while the tailgate opens up as well to mimic a viwing balcony to enjoy nature, says Kia.

In all likelihood, the Kia EV9 could perhaps use a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive setup being a mid-size SUV.

Knowing More About The 2022 Kia Telluride

The new Kia Telluride is one of the Korean brand's hot-sellers, even before Covid-19 hit the world; in fact, customers were told all the Tellurides were sold out because dealerships ran out of stock. Even prices went through the roof at the time. The Telluride is one of the most recommended family SUVs in Europe and the United States. It's extremely practical, has ample room for full-size adults, and not to mention, cargo space that betters its sibling, the Hyundai Palisade.

Kia being a brand that loves to flatter its customers with features, the Telluride is full of them. The Telluride packs infotainment features that are easy to use and safety tech. The only gripe customers have had about the Telluride, is the fact that it isn't fuel efficient and acceleration isn't great either. Having said that, it's still a favorite, chiefly because it's designed to be a massive people-mover. Adding the EV9 to the model range will further stoke the fire.

The company says the EV9 drew inspiration from the 'water element' of Opposites United. The color on the outside is said to ape the depth of the ocean, which is further supplemented by the clear blue skies. Fishnets have been recycled to make the flooring, while the seat fabric is made from wool fibers and recycled plastic bottles. The interior also makes use of vegan leather. So no animals were harmed in the making of the Concept EV9.

The EV9 Concept is a small glimpse into what we can expect from Kia's aggressive EV strategy. With a three-row design, and all-electric powertrain, the EV9 Concept treads more towards fact rather than fiction when it comes to concept vehicles, barring the swinging seats features.
