Mercedes-Benz is one of the world leaders in high-performance sedans, coupes, and even hypercars, offering the most in luxury and high-speed thrills. The brand is moving more towards an electric and hybrid future, while still finding the time to produce high-performance cars. Mercedes have now launched their new AMG GT 63 S E Performance, a hybrid V8 beast with nearly 900 hp that will launch in Europe in April 2022, and is the first performance hybrid produced by the German company.

As you might expect, the V8 powertrain under the hood is the highlight of this new car. Under the hood of this new Mercedes is a 4.0-liter biturbo V8 engine, that has a “permanently excited” synchronous electric motor, a high-performance battery that's developed by AMG and the AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive system. All of that V8 and electrical power produces a 843 hp total output, which means the GT 63 S E can accelerate from 0-62 mph in just 2.9 seconds. The top speed is a pretty impressive 196 mph.

Mercedes are offering an awful lot of standard equipment with this new high-performance hybrid. The car comes with ceramic high-performance compound brakes. This has the advantage of not only being lightweight, but offering a long service life and extreme stability for the driver. The AMG Dynamics driving control system helps to influence the Electronic Stability Program, as well as the all-wheel drive and limited-slip rear diff. This all helps to increase the agility of the car without affecting the vehicle's stability negatively.
