Green seems to be the way everyone is heading right now. It does not matter how big of a gladiator you are, many people are more keen on saving the Earth than they are on driving fueled cars. For plenty of consumers, it's bye to gas and hello to green energy.

However, if you are not sure if you're ready to go green, or if you are not sure of how green is too green for you, then you have the option of plug-in hybrids. These cars and trucks give you the option of having a fairly eco-friendly car without losing the roar of your gas car or truck.

One of the many companies to join the green race is Jeep. This year the automaker officially announced that they are going for a plug-in hybrid Jeep Gladiator. The Gladiator is Jeep’s flagship truck. Being a truck does not mean that Jeep abandoned the ruggedness that comes with its vehicles, however; they actually seem to have added on it.

Let's take a closer look at the upcoming Gladiator 4xe hybrid.

The Gladiator made its debut in 2018, but it was not until 2019 that it arrived at car yards for sale. This truck is perhaps the most rugged truck in the market today. From an all-plastic interior to holes on the floor to drain water and even fully detachable doors, this Jeep has plenty on offer.

It will be interesting to see Jeep’s upcoming spin-off of a hybrid Gladiator when it hits the market. But until 2022, here is a detailed look at the Jeep Gladiator 4Xe plug-in hybrid.

Jeep announced that the 2022 Gladiator will come with a hybrid powertrain option. Jeep insisted that the plug-in hybrid powertrain will also feature as an option with other models in the future. This announcement was made at the virtual unveiling of the 2021 Grand Cherokee.

Jeep has continued to tease the release of this truck through its social media. From the low-resolution images on Jeep’s social media, it is clear that there will be PHEV-specific gauges and a Rubicon displayed at the center of the screen of the ride's instrumental cluster.

The passenger side of the 4xe lettering can be seen stamped on the dashboard grab handle. There's also a Gladiator button for the truck bed light and seat mounts that are shared by both the Gladiator and the Wrangler.

On the dashboard, the detailing throws many off, with some speculating that these images are for the Wrangler 4xe. This is because of the blue accent stitching that matches that of the Wrangler 4xe.

Christian Meunier, Jeep’s CEO, has assured both critics and enthusiasts that Jeep is dedicated to being the greenest SUV and truck company in the world. This is following his comment regarding how every Jeep model will have an electrified power option in the near future.

These comments raise speculation on how much Jeep is ready to either compromise as far as their 4X4 technology goes or if they are working on building better platforms.
