Say goodbye to the wait as we hit the road with the new Chevrolet Corvette Z06. The 5-year wait is going to be fruitful. With the fantastic dominance the 2015 Corvette Z06 displayed, we're all ears for what may follow. With each Corvette the company builds, the fan base rises.

Each sports car has one primary duty; to be the best damn car in its league and succeed every other vehicle in its lineage. The previous Z06 already left extremely high benchmarks, and expecting anything less would be foolish.

This mid-engined corvette has its sense of fame and reputation. The baggage claims from its cousins and ancestry is simply an overwhelming presence, forcing it to outperform every obstacle in its path.

The hit Z06 first featured in a coupe or a convertible flavor. While both had unique personalities, the convertible looked blazingly hot. It had a 6.2-liter V-8 that produced 650 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque. Well, everybody loved the exhaust notes; it’s what made the car hotter.

With hands-on a seven-speed manual transmission and a second optional variant of an eight-speed automatic transmission, the car was simply wondering at its price, and very soon, the production was running short.

The car even had a Z07 Performance package which was more of a race fancy mode. It installed carbon-ceramic brakes and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires and even had adjustable aerodynamic enhancing bits.

Arriving at where we sit, the Z06 brings out Corvette's ecstatic driver-centric cabin upholstered with race-inspired materials and brings in extra-supportive Competition Sport seating.

As of this very moment, we're relying heavily on spoilers and mainstream intuition to figure out what the Z06 will be about exactly. This deity will be officially unveiled to public eyes in October of 2021.

For now, here's our set of predictions on what to expect from the new Chevrolets mid-engine Corvette Z06. Apart from the mind-captivating teaser announced on August 21, here's what we know so far.

A V8 Engine Will Power The New Chevrolet Corvette Z06

The new Corvette Z06 will receive an upgraded special engine that should overwhelm the supercars it's trying to outrank. It brings a naturally aspirated 5.5-liter V-8 with a dual overhead camshaft and a flat-plane crankshaft.

This V8 engine is directly derived from the Corvettes C8.R racing car, also known as LT6. The unconventional V-8 will hook up to an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive.

We expect the engine to juice north of 600 hp effortlessly. From the teaser, the Ferrari-like howl is simply something everybody will drool over. Speaking of Ferrari, the car implements a Ferrari-Esque layout, allowing an easy rev up to 8,500 and 9,000 rpm.

The elder sibling Corvette Z51 completed a 0 to 60 mph in just 2.8 seconds, and we have no reason not to believe the Z06 will be even quicker.

This Corvette Z06 Will Adopt A Completely Fresh Cut

The fresh new flared fenders and larger air scoops make the aesthetic Chevy even more dominant.

The body creases and cuts are simply something nobody would want to miss out on, unlike the previous model of Corvette Z06. Although chances are high to be featured in two different body styles, we believe that a convertible wouldn't suit the aesthetic.

As of yet, the car has only been seen in the coupé version, and there is a vague possibility that the convertible may be rubbed off.

The implanted wider & stickier tires not only complement its looks but also assist in better braking. This helps it corner with grip and quickly brake than the regular Vette. Chevy will also recalibrate the suspension on the Z06 to boost its race track performance.

Aided by actively adjustable aerodynamics that adjusts its position automatically, the downforce created will be automated and perfect in this new generation. This also helps in providing excellent cornering traction.

An Exceptional Performance Mode Can Be Expected

The Z06's flashy new engine will be supported by an advanced suspension setup and available carbon-fiber wheels. The unique styling is evident as the car shows off in the track with a sinister sense and meaner look.

Like its siblings, the car features three standard modes: tourer, sports, & track mode. Each mode has its version of the digital speedometer pre-booted onto the vehicle. The driver can switch between modes nearly instantaneously by a mere flip of a switch.

And last but not least, there will be a slightly new logo, with a more stylish "Z" that replicates the Z button on the current non-Z06 Corvette's steering wheel. This button activates custom performance settings, essentially summoning a custom driving mode.

The performance model will likely provide a better significant boost than its ancestor that featured in 2015.

The display vehicle will be released in October, but it won’t be available for sale till 2023. As sad as it can be, the October of 2021 will only unveil the car and provide all the more reason to have it.

Hopefully, each moment we spend waiting is effectively utilized in bringing out this banger stronger than ever.

With every word said so far, the wait is even more unpleasant, but the fruit of patience is the sweetest of all. That's what fuels us.
