Whether or not you have seen the Fast and Furious movies, you will likely assume what happens. The cars drive very fast and furiously to beat one another. In the racing scenes, there are plenty of moments where a stunt double might flip, crash, or damage the car. Therefore, more than one of the chosen 1963 Chevy Corvette's were needed to successfully produce the fifth movie in the franchise, Fast Five.

Twelve replicas were produced in total, as the 1963 Chevy Corvette featured many times throughout the film. It isn't surprising as the 1963 Corvette is a classic sports car, which is now one of the most popular sports cars in America. Out of those twelve replicas, only three remain. Of which, only two of those replicas were designated as 'jump cars' and equipped with an air-cooled Volkswagen engine. It is one of these that has headed to auction.

Is The Replica The Same As The Original?

When a movie production team creates their own car replicas, they will never be the exact same as the originals. If they were, the team might as well purchase multiple models of the same original car. Replicas are made to save money. Therefore, the replica will not be the exact same. However, it does feature a four-speed transmission, customer tubular C4 chassis, a cut-down windscreen, and 4-wheel disc brakes just like the original. However, the engine, simulated wheels, and other parts may not be the same.

Alas, it is a great replica to purchase if you want to be a fan that rides in the same seat as their favorite movie stars and stunt doubles from the Fast and Furious franchise. There is no current price yet, so you will want to be quick to snag this show-stopping four-decade-old inspired ride.
