Celebrities have their pick of the best cars in the market primarily due to their large expense accounts and their potential to market carmakers. It is no wonder they will be seen driving the latest models around. The fact they have money affords them the ability to both buy and do amazing things. Unfortunately, because they can buy just about any SUV or pickup that catches their fancy does not necessarily translate to beautiful vehicles. It may have to do with the fact these cars are tailored to the personal tastes of these celebrities rather than what the manufacturers' or the reigning car culture intended for them.
While all the Hummers, Porsches, and Range Rovers on this list may be great, the exterior modifications done to them is the stuff of nightmares. The following list illustrates some of the worst offenders that took pickups and SUVs and made them hideous.
10 Khloe Kardashian: Land Rover Range Rover
Khloe gave a new meaning to the word new paint job after wrapping her Range Rover in black velvet in 2015. It was unclear how she planned to deal with it in the rain, but she loved the look.
The fourth-generation range rover is currently in the ninth year of the fourth generation and is considered one of the highest-rated SUVs in the market, fulfilling both off-road and road obligations. The Kardashian's external additions to the range rover are definitely not what the brand intended, but they exhibit an eccentric taste.
9 Juan Uribe: Porsche Cayenne
As a baseball veteran for Colorado Rockies, it is no surprise that Uribe got the car of his dreams. Unfortunately, he went overboard with his Cayenne, setting up a hideous body kit that has no business being there.
The Cayenne excels in its ability to be quaint yet sophisticated. Increasing modifications to the body, like large air intakes and imposing grilles, does not add to the flavor. Instead, it takes away from the whole appearance.
8 Dennis Rodman: Hummer
Rodman is the second athlete to grace the list of celebrity car fails. Taking a look at his Hummer, It's not hard to see why this is the case. The 1996 Hummer H1 is everything a person could want regardless of their age or political affiliation.
It does seem magnanimous as a vehicle sporting a 6.2-liter V8 and 10 miles to the gallon. Rodman, however, decided to make his Hummer a moving wallpaper of several unrelated pictorials, some were semi-nude women, and all were mashed onto concrete-looking paint.
7 Snooki: Cadillac Escalade
Snooki is famous for the hit television show 'Jersey Shore' and has been a popular and controversial media personality. It is not surprising then that she would get an Escalade with a bit of flair. The boldly styled and luxury SUV is enough to turn heads without any additions.
However, Snooki went a little overboard and added pink accents to the side skirts, rim exterior, and grille. She also chose to do this to the pickup body option, making the whole setup look a bit outlandish, to say the least. The media personality did sell it via eBay in 2013, though.
6 Anton Kasabov: Mercedes G Class
An old saying from AMG founder Aufretcht goes, 'You can't really improve a Mercedes, but you can make it different.' Actor and martial artist Anton Kasabov may not have paid attention to this when he altered his 2009 AMG G55.
Dubbed the Typhoon, this G Class sports vivid pink paint crisscrossing the black grille side and rims. The Hamann tuned AMG model also allegedly gets a 35 hp power boost from its 5.5-liter V8, but that still does not justify all the pink.
5 Arnold Schwarzenegger: Unimog
The Unimog is a macho Mercedes-badged monstrosity. It is a go-anywhere brutish vehicle that Mercedes allegedly built to Schwarzenegger's expectations and he has two of them. Reportedly street-legal within the United States and set on top of a 1977 chassis, this short cab rides on 22-inch wheels and sports a 6.4-liter turbodiesel engine.
Aside from the large Michelin wheels, the Unimog looks as far from a Mercedes as one can get. It appears more spartan than elegant and would be the idea of what a Mercedes is supposed to be in a post-apocalyptic world.
4 Marshawn Lynch: Jeep Wrangler
Lynch is probably the only NFL player on the list though his vehicle warrants attention. The 2016 Wrangler is a customized 2016 Jeep Wrangler with all of the top-of-the-range additions. The catch comes in the form of the vivid, luminous green paint job done on the grille, headlights, side, and wheels.
As a result, the Wrangler, dubbed 'Beast Mode,' looks like an advertisement for Monster Energy. The retired running back also added custom black leather upholstery with green stitching.
3 Nicki Minaj: Range Rover
Music icon Nicki Minaj is known for her love of pink considering her wardrobe preference and the color of choice for her first-generation Range Rover Sport. The typical 4.2-liter supercharged Rover Sport is what most people think of when it comes to this model as a rugged and capable road warrior.
The hot pink color was not the best iteration of the Range Rover, making something meant to be imposing seem cute. It simply does not fit.
2 Amber Rose: Jeep Wrangler
The American model joins the list of celebrities known for giving their high-end cars pink paint jobs. In this case, Rose acquired a third-generation JK unlimited model, which offered considerably more room because of a longer wheelbase.
It may have begun life as any other Jeep, but the model and media personality gave it a bubble gum pink makeover. The celebrity decided to do one better, though and sheeted a pink chrome to make it stand out even more. However, this phase did not last long as she changed it to less conspicuous army green.
1 Trisha Paytas: Mercedes G Class
Famous YouTuber Trisha Paytas is known for her lifestyle-oriented vlogs and music videos. In 2015 though, she bought a brand new 2014 Mercedes G550. She proceeded to drop it at the West Coast customs for several modifications, including painting it blush pink.
Swarovski crystals were to be put on the headrests and the steering wheel. There was also a list of commissioned changes, though the result was clearly not what AMG or Mercedes intended.
