A lot of people on this list—especially the billionaires—follow the principles of Stoicism. Its philosophy?

"At every moment keep a sturdy mind on the task at hand, as a Roman and human being, doing it with strict and simple dignity, affection, freedom, and justice—giving yourself a break from all other considerations. You can do this if you approach each task as if it is your last, giving up every distraction, emotional subversion of reason, and all drama, vanity, and complaint over your fair share. You can see how mastery over a few things makes it possible to live an abundant and devout life — for, if you keep watch over these things, the gods won't ask for more" (businessinsider.com).

Regardless of your religious status, these principles hold true. If you ever watch the habits of some of the billionaires, you’ll realize they follow a process. Take Warren Buffet, for example. He's been eating the same breakfast from the same McDonald for the past 50 or so years, regardless of anything that goes on in life. That’s how he has what he has.

Then, of course, you have some other people—like Floyd Mayweather, for instance—who go out and do things at random. Life principles aside, these people own some of the best cars.

Let’s look at both types of these people: celebs who drive beaters and those who drive sickest cars.

20 Mark Zuckerberg: Honda Fit

via honda-tech.com

While all celebrities, by definition, shouldn’t need an introduction, here’s one that for sure doesn’t need it, as you probably are captivated by his product. Zuckerberg was already considered a software prodigy by the time he started Harvard. But things like these don’t happen magically. There’s a process to it… His father used to teach him programming when he was very young, and Zuckerberg used to write programs in middle school, a period when the likes of us were probably doing weird stuff on the Internet. So, if you wonder why he is what he is, that should partly explain it—don’t fool yourself thinking he was just lucky!

Though worth $72B now, he still drives a Honda Fit. Don’t go believing the looks of this car. The Fit can outdo some of your tailgate-party cars in terms of space.

19 Daniel Radcliffe: Fiat Grande Punto

via mediamag.am

The young star is best known for his role as Harry Potter, in the film series Harry Potter, although he wasn't unknown to films before that. Whether you like Harry Potter or not, he did an amazing job in the film, portraying nicely all types of emotions. Notable is the fact that he has a mild form of developmental coordination that hinders his ability to do simple tasks like tying shoelaces.

So, what does the English star drive? A 2007 Fiat Grande Punto. The Grand Punto has been in production since 2005 and is considered a supermini car. Unlike David Spade that you’ll see on the list, Radcliffe’s car matches his personality as exhibited to us via screen and interviews. It’s a decent car for a busy city.

18 Britney Spears: Mini Cooper

via youtube.com

The 36-year-old had an interval of time with midlife crisis-like symptoms in 2006. She once drove with her child on her lap instead of the rear seat. Once the pictures leaked of this episode, people became concerned about not only the child’s safety but also her own mental health. And then, there was the time when she shaved her head with electric clippers. But besides all this, which I have to say isn't a big deal at all at that level, she’s has had a successful career, and if money is any evidence, I’d say the $215M net worth supports the conclusion.

She has a few cars, but it looks like she’s going with a Mini Cooper for now. It’s not a terrible car, but her personality doesn’t fit the car, so not sure what she enjoys about it. But hey... to each his own.

17 Leonardo DiCaprio: Toyota Prius

via Zimbio

With statements like “I don't pay lavish expenses. I don't fly private jets. I still have only one car, and that's a Toyota Prius. I don't spend money on a lot," I think Leo’s philosophy becomes crystal clear—to be a star and shine, but not show off. And I think he truly means that. Look at his personal endeavors. He's highly invested in being an environmental activist, going as far back as after the release and success of the Titanic in 1997.

The newer generations of the Prius look significantly better than the previous ones.

16 Conan O’Brien: 1992 Ford Taurus SHO

via

The funnyman has done a lot in his career, and that’s because that’s how we see him now. Much like a lot of other failures, we weren’t familiar with his flop Late Night shows in 1993. The awkward, self-deprecating humorist has gained popularity by hosting Conan and several other late-night shows before that. If you weren’t aware, he didn’t just get into doing this—he was a writer for a sketch comedy series in college, and after graduating college, he wrote for The Simpsons also.

What does he drive? A Ford Taurus SHO from 1992. The Taurus SHO was launched in 1989, and the current model-year looks “flat,” but I can’t say the same about his car, as it looks antique. It has a relatively good engine, being equipped with a 3-liter V6.

15 Kirk Cousins: GMC Savana Passenger Van

via complex.com

Here’s another human who stays humble. The quarterback for the Redskins is making millions, and unlike Zuckerberg, he doesn’t exactly have “job security.” One wrong injury and things can go south rather quickly. Of course, it’s highly unlikely to happen, but it can happen. Consequently, his philosophy is similar:

“You've got to save every dollar even though you're making a good salary. You never know what's going to happen.”

He tries to save as much as he can and has even influenced other team members to act similarly. You might find it hard to believe that the quarterback drives a GMC Savana Passenger van that has more than 100K miles on it. And it’s dented. He bought it from his grandmother for $5K.

14 Alice Walton: Ford F-150

via coolstyle.ba

The heiress to Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., colloquially known as "Walmart," is the richest woman on the planet. The billionaire had a wide variety of jobs and interests, ranging from equity analyst, money manager, and CEO to art collector and political donor. Even with a net worth of $43.3B, she drives an F-150, which, for the record, I’ll say is a solid truck. She didn’t do much to earn that kind of money besides being born to a father who was one of the biggest tycoons of the world.

On the other side of the coin, she’s a terrible driver. It’s just not one or two minor things here and there but several accidents and the death of a pedestrian caused by her that led me to that conclusion.

13 Steve Ballmer: 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid

via autoweek.com

While he’s a celebrity, you might not have known him to the extent that you know, let’s say, Bill Gates, because he was just a CEO of Microsoft, unlike the founder and richest billionaire, Bill Gates. All that is changing with his ownership of the Clippers. He’s an intelligent guy, just like Gates, having studied at Harvard and Stanford—though I consider him smart for having become a billionaire through stock options, as only one other person has done that (Roberto Goizueta) in the US. It’s a feat to become a successful billionaire by that means. He didn’t invent or create anything, didn't inherit any hefty legacy… It was literally—dare I break my and your reality?—hard work and business acumen.

He drives a 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid, which was delivered to him by the CEO of Ford himself.

12 Warren Buffet: Cadillac XTS

via cnnmoney.com

If Zuckerberg is the guru of the internet and Gates, of programming, then Buffet is the guru of investment. And much like all the successful people of the world, he’s also a guru of discipline. His philosophy essentially breaks down to finding a strong company and investing at a low price, and then holding the stock for years; he’s not a day trader. His business acumen is reinforced by his non-business habits.

He still lives in the same house that he bought in 1958 and doesn’t spend more than $3.17 on breakfast, meaning, he's a highly disciplined individual.

Buffet used to drive a Cadillac DTS but got rid of it. Currently, he drives a Cadillac XTS that cost $45K. He drives his own car, even at the age of 87 and wealth of $87B.

11 David Spade: 1987 Buick Grand National

via youtube.com

You might've enjoyed his sarcastic jokes from Rules of Engagement or even some gigs from Saturday Night Live. The poor guy has, over time, become severely sensitive to light. Presumably, he was predisposed to being light-sensitive, and then on-set lights and actual sunlight while filming Black Sheep led to permanent eye damage. That’s why you see him wearing a hat so often on sets and outdoors alike. It’s a pain in the neck, but he’s managing.

His ride? A Buick Grand National. The car, which was named for the NASCAR Winston Cup National Series, looks sterner and dignified, which is completely opposite of what Spade’s personality exudes. But on top of looking diplomatic, the car also had diplomatic-like powertrain: a 245 hp-producing 3.8-liter V6. That was in 1987.

And now for the sickest cars driven by celebrities...

10 Jay Leno: 2017 Ford GT

via shearcomfort.com

Starting off this side of the list is none other than the famous comedian and car collector Jay Leno. If you’re wondering, that prominent jaw of his can be fixed, but he never decided to proceed with the orthodontics surgery that would correct the mandibular prognathism. He was a stand-up comedian in the early years of his life and then got back to that after hosting The Tonight Show with Jay Leno for more than two decades.

He owns plenty of cars, including this beauty: the 2017 Ford GT. This is the second-generation Ford GT, and it costs nearly half a million dollars. You need to be a Ford enthusiast to be able to own this car. His is the first unit produced from that lineup.

9 Nicki Minaj: Lamborghini Aventador

via

Minaj has gained fame only relatively recently. She wasn’t born into a famous family or anything like that, just that talent and passion for music led her to where she’s in life. Starting from nothing, she's made $75M, which is, ahem, quite a lot. The singer is an inspiration for others.

When it comes to her car, I’m personally not the biggest fan of the color, but I like the Aventador in general. Maybe it’s because I’m a guy, but pink just doesn’t fly on this car. The car is meant to portray the strength of a bull—bull Aventador, literally—not some 2-lb kitten that you call cute and makes you go “aww” internally. But that’s just my two cents. Of course, she has a world of her own and thinks the car looks good—hence why she probably got it in the first place.

8 Beyoncé: 1959 RR Convertible

via pinterest.com

The 36-year-old female singer is worth over half a billion dollars. She started her career from an early age, excelling in everything. The star has not only broken album records but has also set several records on Twitter in terms of “likes” for a particular incident, namely, during a show after which she made her pregnancy public.

The beauty is worth over a million dollars. I think any RR, let alone hers, in particular, is going to be highly personalized.

That’s probably the selling point for an RR. It’s not that you won’t get the same luxury in a Merc or an Aston Martin or what have you, just that RR is going to customize the car to fit whatever your personality and needs demand. That’s what makes RR worth it.

7 Kanye West: Mercedes McLaren SLR

via i0.wp.com

Kanye is certainly an interesting character. He was into art but dropped out of college at the age of 20 to follow his musical career, as academics was taking too much of his time. For him, “it was more about having the guts to embrace who you are, rather than following the path society has carved out for you." I think this resonates very well with me. With a belief like this, I don’t think it’s difficult to understand his views of other powerful people. The guy is married to a Kardashian, which might be, hmm, we won’t go into this.

He drives several cars, including a Mercedes McLaren SLR, as shown here. This sports car looks just fabulous, no matter which angle you look at it from.

6 Floyd Mayweather: Bugatti Veyron

via

The thing about this entry is that both of these are crazy—the car and the owner—but in an adorable kind of way. He's not a lunatic that you’d want to run away from but an intense personality that you want to be around because of the personality. Let’s start with the car. Which production car is equipped with 1,000 HP and an equal amount of torque in lb-ft? You can do anything with a Bugatti Veyron. In fact, I think that’s why some people buy it. Want to go on empty roads and experience the near-death moment? Drive it. And then you have the owner, Mayweather, who's probably one of the best boxers and money spenders in the world. He once spent $50K on an oil change. Really?

5 David Beckham: RR Phantom Drophead Coupe

via

Ah, the old Beckham. Beckham has become a cultural icon for the English. He played soccer like no other and is still involved in other aspects of soccer, including his kids’ soccer life. With the money that he has, this car isn't the only expensive thing he owns. A couple of houses and a private jet also exist.

At 450 HP and 530 lb-ft of torque, the car has a moderate amount of power for a car in this price range; however, that’s no reason to get the RR Phantom in the first place. It’s the luxuries. The solemn beauty is full of luxuries, and in this picture, you get to see his kids also, who've grown up since. The interior is a nice contrast with the exterior.

4 Rihanna: Lamborghini Aventador

via complex.com

When the news of Chris Brown’s assault of Rihanna became public, a lot of issues surfaced regarding domestic violence. Media outlets usually don’t reveal the identity of the victim in a domestic-violence case, but it was done to Rihanna. It’s funny how the two got back together even after the assault, followed by restraining orders and eventually a less stringent restraining order. The 30-year-old singer is worth around $230M, which isn't quite as much as Beyoncé's net worth, but it still is a significant amount of money.

She drives a Lamborghini Aventador. Now, this one isn't colored all pink like Minaj’s—which may have to do with the fact that Chris Brown gifted it to her—but for us, it means the already good car still looks good.

3 Cristiano Ronaldo: Audi R8

Here’s another soccer star who’s very influential. As of now, he has several films and documentaries made on him, a museum, a few business adventures, and other popular-culture fame.

This guy gets cars like pancakes at IHOP—one after another to the point you’ve eaten so many that you don’t know what to do with them. (On a side note, there was one soccer star who had so many cars that he forgot he had left one at an airport!) And that’s because he can afford it. Plus, he gets them as a reward for his astonishing performances—most of the time from Audi, as Audi is a sponsor of his club.

Although I’m a bigger fan of the coupe R8, that convertible doesn’t look bad at all.

2 Puff Daddy: Maybach 57

via

As much as his stage name sounds normal to you, it’s bound to sound odd to someone who hasn’t heard of him. Besides the name—and his penchant for changing names frequently—I think he’ll become a billionaire at some point in his life; his net worth is near $820M, the most of any hip-hop artist in the US. Of course, that kind of money isn't generated from singing alone; he's involved with various business adventures—some successful, some not.

The Maybach he owns is equipped with a 5.5-liter V12 and an automatic transmission. As you can tell by his clothing style, he also has an old-school taste in cars, as demonstrated by his ownership of not only the Maybach but also a 1958 Corvette.

1 Ralph Lauren: Aston Martin DB5 Volante

via

You can tell how deep this gentleman’s love for cars is by just doing a quick Google image search. As soon as you type in the keyword “Ralph Lauren car,” Google automatically suggests "collection," "Ferrari," and "garage" to complete the query. Out of all the people listed here, Lauren is probably the most extensive car collector and, with a net worth of $6.3B, one of the most financially capable car collectors. His car collection itself is worth over $300M. The car you see here is no ordinary car. It featured in many James Bond movies, like Goldfinger and Thunderball, and with a price tag of $4.1M, it’s the fifth most expensive Aston Martin ever sold. These cars were built from 1963-1965 but still had a 0-60 time of 7.1 seconds.
