Each country has its own culture, climate, and spirit that sets it apart from others. The same goes for a country’s automobiles, which can vary in style and features that automakers will cater to citizens. Saudi Arabia, has wealthy citizens who not only own exotic cars, but love to flaunt them as well.

According to Weather Online, the average temperature in Saudi Arabia during a summer day is about 113 degrees Fahrenheit. The country’s climate is a desert, which means it gets hot during the day, and cold at night. These polarizing temperatures are fitting considering the polarizing car culture that exists there too. A more affluent citizen from Saudi Arabia might drive around in an expensive Lamborghini, while a poorer driver cruises around in an affordable sedan. Although most cars have it rougher in more arid climates, the cheaper ones tend to take the most heat. They’re more prone to breaking down and costing the less fortunate even more. A wide collection of vehicles from all over Saudi Arabia—as well as neighboring countries—are detailed below. Half of the list includes exotic cars fit for a prince, while the rest capture lesser cars that aren’t holding up too well in Saudi Arabia's heat.

20 Exotic: Bugatti Chiron

via MotoNetworks

One of the most popular hypercars is the Bugatti Chiron. The Chiron has it all—an eye-catching design, insane performance due to an 8.0-liter quad-turbo engine and the signature of a legendary automaker. It makes sense that the car is highly sought after.

According to Moto Networks, a Saudi Prince snatched up the first Bugatti Chiron back in 2016, shortly after they presented it to the world. They report that the engine produces a mind-numbing 1,500 hp, which is hard for us to even wrap our heads around. The Bugatti Chiron is a car that’s worthy of a Prince.

19 Abandoned: Mounted Brick Cars

via Autoblog

There’s an interesting art movement in Saudi Arabia that uses cars and rocks. It’s where artists take abandoned cars and hoist them up onto a monument-like structure composed of rocks. Business Insider reports it’s called “tahjir,” also known as “stoning.”

In this photo, some artists found another use for this Toyota other than driving it. Although it still looks like it’s in good shape, considering the desert climate, there's nothing wrong with using it to make an art piece. While some might not like seeing cars used this way, it’s better than letting cars waste away in the heat.

18 Exotic: Lamborghini Aventador SV

via Real Clear Life

It doesn’t get nicer than this. Here’s a car fit for a prince. When Arab Prince Turki Bin Abdullah came to London, he did it in style. According to Real Clear Life, this is his Lamborghini Aventador SV wrapped in gold chrome.

Even when traveling overseas, the Prince doesn’t shy away from showing off his gorgeous supercars. This is just one of three cars in the set, each one a rarity painted in the same gold coloring. The same source reports that these photos snapped all three of his cars just a couple of years ago in the Kensington neighborhood of London.

17 Abandoned: Red Land Rover

via Doha News

Thanks to movies like The Treasure of Sierra Madre and real life archaeological finds, people have long associated desert settings with treasure hunting. While it’s not exactly a covered in dirt, a classic jeep-like vehicle is still prized nonetheless.

It looks as if the vehicle has been across the desert and back. Technically, the vehicle comes from Qatar, as Doha News reports, which is a neighboring country on the edge of Saudi Arabia. Although the vehicle is still standing, it looks as if it’s on its last legs and may not venture out into the harsh climate ever again.

16 Exotic: Mercedes-Benz G63

via Real Clear Life

The next golden car among Turki Bin Abdullah’s collection is the biggest one yet. Real Clear Life reports it’s a Mercedes-Benz G63, which is a full-fledged 6x6. While technically a pickup, this car has less to do with hauling than it does performance.

The car arrived a few years back in the Kensington neighborhood within London where a photographer snapped this photo. Under the sun’s gaze, the golden paint job glimmers that much brighter, showing off the wealth of the Arab Prince. This is just one of three cars in his collection of golden cars that all showed up in London.

15 Abandoned: Jeddah Car Wreck

via Traveller on a Mission

Jeddah is a city in Saudi Arabia that sits on the coast of the Red Sea. This photo, taken from the blog Traveller On A Mission, highlights one area of the city where there’s a line of modern-looking properties in the background; in the foreground is a desolate patch of land. The only thing that occupies this empty space of sand is a car that’s seen better days.

Beneath the wreckage of the rear bumper appears to be the exterior of a hybrid vehicle, similar in style to that of a Toyota Prius. Unable to last long in the heat of the desert, this car appears abandoned and cast aside to a neglected piece of land.

14 Exotic: Koenigsegg Regera

via supercars.agents4stars.com

Few cars on this list manage to lift eyebrows as much as the Koenigsegg Regera, even among the exotics. Like the Bugatti Chiron, according to Jalopnik, these can also do 1,500 hp. What makes these supercars unique is the engineering behind them.

The same source reports that the Koenigsegg Regera only has one fixed gear, which is different from most performance cars. Instead, two sources power the car. There’s electric power and then the combustion engine that allow it to go an impressive 248 mph. It’s no wonder a car with this much power has attracted the wealthy in Saudi Arabia.

13 Abandoned: Tow Truck

via Steemit user extremejogging

Not all vehicles have what it takes to handle the desert heat. Some become abandoned and left to rot by their owners. Others go the way of the scrap yard. There’re even cars that become pieces of art.

Out of all those fates that await a car in the desert, this one most closely fits in with art. It may not be appealing to look at it, but it’s going to draw attention. According to Steemit user extremejogging, the tow truck resides in the middle of nowhere at an old gas station in Saudi Arabia. From the look of it, there’s nothing around for miles.

12 Exotic: Bentley

via Real Clear Life

Last but not least, the third and final golden car in Turki Bin Abdullah’s collection is also the classiest. So far, his collection has shown off performance in the Lamborghini, off-roading with the Mercedes and now it's time to roll out the Bentley.

Bentleys have long had a reputation that signifies class, prestige and sophistication. This is the heart of the collection. While many would choose the Lamborghini for its looks and speed, or the Mercedes for its off-roading abilities, nothing screams wealth and status more than a Bentley. By covering it in gold chrome, it only takes that image to the next step.

11 Abandoned: Skyline R34

via Imgur user ArabianSandstorm

Even great cars can’t take the heat. Some automobiles just aren’t suited for particular climates. This particular car is a diamond in the rough among abandoned cars. Most of the cars left unattended aren’t the flashiest of cars. Imgur user ArabianSandstorm reports that it’s a Skyline R34 found in Riyadh, which is the capital city of Saudi Arabia.

Riyadh is also the most populated city in the country, increasing the chances of car abandonment. A Skyline R34 is a sought-after performance car that might have a tough going in a climate where temperatures are constantly in the triple digits.

10 Exotic: Bugatti Veyron

via Cars247

Some of the most beloved supercars on the planet are Bugattis. The Veyron Super Sport is a limited version even among Bugattis. Cars247 reports there are only 30 in existence. Supercar collector Hussein Musallam owns one and keeps it in Saudi Arabia full-time. The same source points out that they don’t run cheap, setting back buyers more than $2 million.

All that money doesn’t go to waste though, instead going into the performance. These Bugattis can reach an astounding 268 mph, making this one of the fastest cars in the world. The cherry on top is the black and orange paint job and styling on the outside that makes this car pop.

9 Abandoned: Toyota Corolla

via dotsunderconsonants.wordpress.com

Even when vehicles are in the way of work getting done, these workers found a workaround. That appears to be the case here with this Toyota Corolla. Parked in the middle of a construction site, as the blog Dots Under Consonants reports, the workers opted to leave the car as is and continued on with their job.

The most telling sign are the original bricks that still sit underneath the car from when the owner had originally parked. Further in the background, there’s another car in a similar position as the Corolla. When the workers eventually have to put the new road down, these cars won’t last much longer.

8 Exotic: Mercedes SLR McLaren

via Pinterest

In comparison to the cars parked around it, including the Lamborghini on the left, this Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren makes an impression. Not only is it a high performing car with style, but it’s wrapped in chrome, making it that much more eye-popping.

As the photo posted on MSN reveals, upon a close look at the front license plate, the car comes from Kuwait, which is a neighboring country of Saudi Arabia. Pinterest user Kishore Patil points out that it’s in the United Kingdom in this particular photo. Like all Mercedes cars, these represent luxury and status for its owners.

7 Abandoned: Ford Minivan

via dotsunderconsonants.wordpress.com

A Ford Minivan bearing a droll maroon color like this one is a common sight in the US. What’s less common is finding one with corrugated metal fences lined up around it and a new building going up in the background.

The workers in this city in Saudi Arabia showed mercy towards this van by letting its owner come back to retrieve it. It might be hard to move out of the way though considering the front right tire is flat. The thick layer of dirt covering the windows and doors is not a good sign, suggesting the owner has long abandoned it and won't be coming back.

6 Exotic: Lamborghini Murciélago

via Autogespot

It’s hard for most to imagine owning a Lamborghini Murciélago. This blue one appears to have been another abandoned vehicle found in Saudi Arabia. According to Autogespot, at the time of this photo, it was in Jeddah, a major city in Saudi Arabia. Even exotic cars like these get left behind, though the reasons aren’t always clear.

Aside from some dirt on the top, this Lamborghini still looks like it’s in pristine condition, suggesting the owner took good care of it. No one wants to see an abandoned exotic. All it needs is a car wash to get back on its feet.

5 Abandoned: Off-Roader

via Maxim

Those who wander through the desert might come upon artifacts either buried below or sitting above the surface. This off-roading vehicle entrenched in sand is something of an artifact. It's missing a window and a headlight, shows rust around the edges and probably doesn’t run—but it looks hardy nonetheless.

In a report by Maxim, this off-roading vehicle met its end in the sands of Oman, where it will likely exist until the earth swallows it whole. While it looks like a competent vehicle, it didn’t have enough to triumph over the rugged desert. It might even be a mirage.

4 Exotic: Brabus G700 6x6

via Cars247

The rugged dunes of Saudi Arabia are some of the toughest in the world. Not only is the sun constantly beating down heat on the land, but the sand makes for poor driving conditions. That is, unless you drive a monster vehicle, like this Brabus 6x6.

According to Cars247, this is a one-of-a-kind edition of the popular Mercedes-Benz G63 G-Class. The same source notes that it’s capable of doing a mind-boggling 690 hp and can reach 62 mph in a mere 4.4 seconds. A powerful machine like this not only handles the Saudi Arabian desert with ease, but also boosts one's image at the same time.

3 Abandoned: Muscat Sedan

via YouTube user Lucky Pirani

No one likes to see an abandoned car—but at the same time, spectators can’t help but be curious. They want to know the story behind a vehicle that’s been cast aside, left to bake in the sun.

According to YouTube user Lucky Pirani, someone left their Kia sedan in Muscat, the port capital city of Oman. It’s not the only one abandoned in the area either. Sitting beside it in a long row are other cars with just as much dirt and grime on their exteriors. It looks like it’s in good shape and could probably still run for years to come.

2 Exotic: Lamborghini Aventador

via Autogespot

This white Lamborghini Aventador gets attention from passersby for good reason—it’s a high performing car that looks good from every angle. Although the site Autogespot reports that someone took a photo of this car in Monaco, one can see it’s from Saudi Arabia from the giant tag on the front.

According to the same source, these can do a top speed of about 217 mph, which is more than enough to satisfy speed freaks. Whether it’s the United Kingdom, Monaco or other places around the world, the owners of these exotic cars are never afraid to venture outside of Saudi Arabia to show them off.

1 Abandoned: Abandoned Toyota

via Oman Observer

There’s only so much a car can take before it becomes an eyesore, leading to its removal. That was the case with this Toyota, which the Oman Observer confirms was the victim of abandonment at an airport. This wasn’t the only car though, and it eventually got to a point where the police had to haul them away.

A thick layer of dirt and dust cover the car, making it hard to determine if white was the original color. In the background lies the orange truck that’s responsible for towing these vehicles away from the airport forever, removing the eyesores for good.
