From time to time, too much focus is put on the kind of concept cars that are about to impact the automotive field. But what about motorcycle concepts? Are motorcycles given the needed and required attention? The truth is, out there in the automotive field, motorcycles concepts are really picking up. Many different designs look just amazing. Plus, some of these motorcycles look as if they were pulled right out of a Batman movie and brought into reality. If that isn’t brilliance, then what is?

Likewise, there are some brands like Ferrari and Lamborghini, which have some pretty amazing motorcycle concepts. It’s with no doubt that they're transferring their skills from the car specialty to the motorcycle field. Wait… It doesn’t stop there because some of these motorcycles aren’t even powered by a regular engine. Actually, there's one motorcycle that's equipped with a gas-turbine helicopter engine. Picture this: a motorcycle producing almost the same sound that comes from a helicopter. The thought itself is just overpowering. On the other hand, there are some motorcycle concepts that are just off in a weird manner. The designs can put anyone off because they look bizarre. One look at such motorcycles can make anyone go into deep confusion because some don’t even look like motorcycles. Surprisingly enough, there’s a motorcycle that looks like magnified handcuffs. Anyway, let’s get right into this and take a look at these motorcycles.

19 Genius: Jaguar M-Cycle

via m.promotor.ro

The name of this motorcycle clearly suggests how its exterior literally looks like. Just take a look at it… isn’t it fierce?

The Massow concept cycles designing team discussed and decided, “Why don’t we design a motorcycle that resembles Jaguar’s car logo?”

Finally, they were able to achieve what they were really aiming for. As if that’s not enough, this motorcycle has a 1,200 cc V twin engine contained in the stainless steel frame. In addition to that, the shining exterior, which has a jaguar shape, is made of ebony lacquered fiberglass.

18 Genius: Scarab Motorcycle

Via michelinchallengedesign.com

Designer David Miguel admitted that as he was designing this motorcycle, he considered the urban setting where congestion is becoming a major problem. So, out of that problem, he decided to come up with this motorcycle concept. What’s special about it? The fact that it can transform to sit upright so that it can occupy less parking space. Well, that’s not all because this motorcycle also has a unique style and design. In addition to that, it can be switched to a four-wheel-drive mode even though it’s a motorcycle.

17  Genius: Ferrari V4 Motorcycle Concept

via Pinterest.com

Ferrari is a brand that knows how to play their automobile cards. It always has supercars dominating the market. So, what’s Ferrari’s motorcycle concept like? Is it on the same level as the supercars?

According to Top Speed, the engineer behind this motorcycle was inspired by Ferrari cars.

The aerodynamics and the primary colors of this motorcycle are almost similar to those in a Ferrari sports car. It’s like these vehicles share a soul. What would you expect from an engineer who had previously designed a Ferrari sports car?

16 Genius: Genius: Kawasaki J concept

via reddit.com

On this model, Kawasaki decided to go back to the 19th century and pick up some traits like the three-wheel feature, which can be quite useful at this time we’re living in. It gets better because this bike can also change its shape to adapt to the rider’s needs and physique. Heck! Even a change in posture can determine how this bike works. Moreover, the three-wheel feature makes it easier and safer to navigate corners because a rider can notice and rectify a mistake in an easy manner. In short, this model is quite forgiving in corners.

15 Genius: 2015 Honda CB750 Concept

via pinterest

Surprisingly enough, there was a Honda CB750 in the '70s, and this model shares some of the features with that older version. It’s like it was reincarnated. And you know what? This model came out strong because it was equipped with a 750 cc engine.

To make it better, it's powered by liquid hydrogen—yes, the same fuel used to power up rockets.

Wait… there’s more: the suspensions are designed in such a way that they can be adjusted automatically to suit anyone. As a matter of fact, it's equipped with electromagnetic suspensions.

14 Genius: Mach Ness

via clubchopper.com

You may be wondering: does it really look like a jet? You bet it does! Actually, the engineer (Arlen Ness) was interested in designing a bike that looked exactly like a jet. And that happened after he saw a bike with a jet design, but it was way too expensive. It could’ve cost him $ 250,000 just to purchase it. So, he decided to build one himself. What’s more intriguing? This motorcycle was also fitted with a helicopter turbine engine. To conceal the helicopter engine, this motorcycle was covered fully with an aluminum body.

13 Genius: Ghost Motorcycle Concept

via priceplus.blogspot.com

The name of this motorcycle concept is quite interesting because it was an inspiration from an adrenaline addict who goes by the nickname ‘ghost rider.’ Well, it's pretty obvious that this motorcycle is fast. Why?

High speed brings about an adrenaline rush, and that’s the inspiration for this bike right here.

What’s more? The designer went forward and took another design or rather an exterior idea of how the bike would look like from a flying falcon. Interesting, right? The two things that inspired this motorcycle were all about speed, and so is the motorcycle.

12 Genius: Suzuki G Strider

via pinterest.com

Everything about this motorcycle is diversified. Firstly, this model is majorly dependent on electrical functionality. Yes, you read that right. The gears of this motorcycle are shifted with buttons. Sounds easy, right? Still, it has a manual feature for those riders who are into feeling each and every gear shift. As if that’s not enough, it's been designed with a major change in how the feet should be positioned. Ironically, a rider who’s about to give a quick power boost must have his or her feet pointing upwards, which is quite different from the position required in other motorcycles.

11  Genius: Lamborbiker

duccutters.com

One look at this motorcycle may give you the impression that it’s from the future. To start off, it’s rimless so that the performance can be maintained at a higher level.

Moreover, it’s pretty lengthy to the point where it looks like a bike inspired by the length of a limousine.

But the reality is, this motorcycle’s design ideas came from the Lamborghini Countach. It's just like a Countach on two wheels. So, the designer took in some traits from the Countach and combined them with the hubless wheels to get this futuristic motorcycle.

10 Genius: Victory Vision800

via motorbox.com

The main company behind this motorcycle, which happens to be Polaris, ensured that this motorcycle was a powerhouse. How? It was equipped with an 800 cc liquid-cooled parallel twin engine. To add to that, the space above the engine is enough for two helmets to fit in. Victory made it clear that they weren’t joking with this model. In relation to this motorcycle, they stated that their directive for Victory is to build the best custom-inspired American motorcycle design. Surprisingly enough, Victory Vision800 is just the tip of the iceberg because they have much more futuristic bikes.

9  Didn’t Make Sense: Morbidelli V8

via wikimediacommons.com

One thing's for sure when it comes to this motorcycle: it has a dullish appearance and looks as if it’s sad. Nobody would ever think that it’s equipped with a V8 engine because that’s not the look that's worn by such motorcycles. What’s worse? This was supposedly the dream bike of a rich bike lover named "Giancarlo Morbidelli." He called in a professional who worked with Ferrari and Alpha Romero to come in and design a motorcycle.

When it was first unveiled to the world, it was so bizarre that it had to be redesigned and rebuilt again.

Even so, its appearance didn’t look like that of a dream bike.

8 Didn’t Make Sense: Icare motorcycle

via gizmodo.com

Just look at it… Doesn’t it look a little out of the ordinary? Actually, it has one thing missing to make it complete: a superhero by the name of "Batman." Yes, this resembles the bike that Batman was riding in the Dark Knight movie. Surprisingly enough, this should be an Aston Martin in a motorcycle version. The funny part about this model? It looks way ahead of its time. Does it even have rubber wheels? Even if the designers were aiming for a bike that's futuristic, they shouldn’t have gone this far.

7 Didn’t Make Sense: Harley Davidson Circa 2020

via NEO TV

Doesn’t this look kind of odd? Maybe we need to travel into the future to look at this design as if it were normal, but as for now, this is a little bit weird.

To start off, it looks like enlarged handcuffs.

Wait a minute… It gets odder. The steering handles are coming from the hubless tires. Plus, riding this motorcycle would be quite a task. Imagine leaning all the way just to steer it. Actually, this would be quite inconvenient for some riders. Annoying, right?

6 Didn’t Make Sense: Suzuki XF425 Ugly Duck

via Chicas Imagenes

Just the mention of the name of this motorcycle can piss anyone off or make him/her burst out loudly with laughter. Luckily, this motorcycle concept didn’t go into production because it would've been nothing but a joke. Yes, the performance might be good and even better than that of many bikes out there, but the appearance is unacceptable. It’s as if the designers were aiming at putting a magnified toy-like motorcycle in the industry. There’s no single feature on this motorcycle that looks normal, not even the tires.

5 Didn’t Make Sense: Voguish Ossa Monocasco

via theverge.com

Unsurprisingly enough, the designer behind this motorcycle was a movie projector manufacturer who worked in cinemas. It’s with no doubt that’s why this motorcycle looks like an enlarged projector on two small wheels. It doesn’t stop there.

This motorcycle doesn’t have an internal chassis; on the contrary, it has an external frame, which is quite out of the ordinary.

So what’s its silver lining? After all, it can’t be that abnormal, can it? Well, the engineers equipped it with two batteries to power it up. Actually, it’s an electric motorcycle. Yes, you read that right.

4 Didn’t Make Sense: BMW Halbo Zero-emission Duo-Wheel Motorcycle

via pinterest.com

Yes, you may be wondering: how could BMW manufacture such a motorcycle? To make matters worse, BMW was a company that manufactured motorcycles before it specialized in cars. So, how they design such a motorcycle? Well, being out of the game may have affected them. Ironically, this was a bike designed to participate in an innovation contest. As if that’s not enough, the rear arm of this bike can be switched and moved from side to side to maintain balance. Yes, it's delicate to the point where it can topple!

3 Didn’t Make Sense: Tron Light Cycle

via pinterest.com

If you happened to watch a movie by the name of "Tron," then you can relate well to this motorcycle. It’s almost the same motorcycle you saw in that movie. But here’s the thing: we’re in the year 2018, and riding a motorcycle like that would look quite abnormal. Let’s hope this motorcycle isn't the same as that in the movie because if that’s the case, then motorists are in deep trouble. In the movie, this motorcycle leaves a streak of light which may look quite awesome in a movie, but in real life, it isn’t. In short, conceptual vehicles in movies should just be seen in cinemas and screens, not in real life.

2 Didn’t Make Sense: nUCLEAS Concept

via gizmodo.com

Surprisingly, the name of this motorcycle is written "nUCLEAS Concept." There are no errors there! Judging from how the name of this motorcycle is written, it's quite easy to realize that it’s an abnormal thing! Actually, it wouldn’t be a surprise if they had started off with a comma. What’s worse? It doesn’t even look like a motorcycle.

The company behind this motorcycle initially stated that it was to bring about a huge impact on the industry.

Ironically, they never developed it out of the pre-prototype stage. Maybe they saw the sense in not going any further.

1 Didn’t Make Sense: Hornet Superbike

via 42 concepts.com

It's very clear that the designers took this ‘futuristic motorcycle’ to another level. First of all, is this a motorcycle or a giant wheel? Only the designers know better. Furthermore, it operates on a hydrogen fuel cell. Apparently, that energy source makes it function just like a normal motorcycle. Still, that doesn’t make it a truly normal motorcycle because this is obviously abnormal. Riders aren't used to such a motorcycle. No, actually, they'd need to learn to ride such a motorcycle. And how can it navigate a corner?
