Cars, as with just about all products in the market, can also be replicated. Some of these replicas are as good as the original car while some are worse than the original car. An example of a proper replica is the Proteus C-Type. This car is based on the Jaguar C-Type. This car is painstakingly hand-built with Proteus stating, “No detail is overlooked, with each car being painstakingly hand-finished with our precision coach-working and the body alone taking 600 hours to construct before being sent for final assembly.” Another example is the Superformance GT40, which is a replica of the Ford GT40. Superfomance states, “The GT40 continuation is built to exacting standards - in fact over two thirds of the rolling chassis's parts are interchangeable with that of an original car, including the 'monocoque" style chassis.” Lastly, we have the AS Motorsport ASM R1, a replica of the Aston Martin DBR1, which is made from aluminium and is powered by 3.4 litre Jaguar XK straight six with twin SU carburetors engine and comes with standard 16” wire wheels that are painted. On the other hand, we have a myriad of badly replicated cars. An example is the Lishededidong Urban Supercar, which looks like its copying three different Lamborghini cars. Here are 10 examples of a replicar that are as good (10 that aren’t even close) as the original.

17 Not Even Close: Bugatti Veyron Suzuki Esteem

AutoEvolution

This expressively revolting car is what SF Carz created when they turned a Maruti Esteem into a Bugatti Veyron replica. Motor Beam says, “The replica can fool some eyes from a great distance and some people may gear up in an urge to see the beast and follow it but come closer and you can see the faux design elements used in the car to replicate the 1000 BHP beast.”

The Bugatti Veyron is an impressive car. The 2014 version has a top speed of 249 miles per hour and goes from rest to 60 mph in 2.6 seconds. It also manages rest to 100 mph in 5.2 seconds, rest to 50 mph in 2.2 seconds and rest to 100 km/h in 2.7 seconds. It can do 10 seconds on a quarter mile.

16 Not Even Close: Rolls Royce Lincoln Town Car

The Fast Lane Car

This monstrosity is what you get when 1996 Lincoln Town Car tries to morph into a Rolls Royce Phantom. Car Scoops reports, “Apparently someone thought that turning it into a Rolls-Royce Phantom would be a good idea. As if that’s not enough, the Iron Man red and gold color theme is also a bit hard to stomach. Tony Stark would definitely not approve.”

The 2018 Rolls Royce Phantom is powered by a 6.8-liter turbocharged 12-cylinder engine that produces 563 hp and 664 pound-feet of torque.

It manages 12 miles per gallon in the city and 19 miles per gallon on the highway and comes with an 8-speed automatic transmission.

15 Not Even Close: Lamborghini Aventador by Lishededidong

AutoEvolution

A company in China called Lishededidong is behind this unbecoming car. It is a mix of the Aventador, the Asterion and the Gallardo, and is named the Lishededidong Urban Supercar. Car News China reports, “The Urban Supercar is powered by a 72V electric motor with an output of 10 hp…Top speed is a decent 80 kilometer per hour and range is 150 kilometer...Price for all this pretty starts around 50.000 yuan ($7980).” The real Lamborghini Aventador is powered by a naturally aspirated, indirect injection, spark-ignition 4-stroke V 12 engine that produces 730 hp and 509 pound-feet of torque. 14 Not Even Close: China Reventon

Business Insider India

You can head over to the Lambo dealership and get your Reventon for $1.6 million – if you’re lucky to find one – or you can just take some $10,000 from your savings account and make your own just like this Chinese mechanic did. Just make sure to do it right, we don’t want such eyesore on the streets.

Car Magazine states, “[The Reventon] based on the sensationally proportioned LP640 Coupe, but has been dressed up by Satan’s personal tailor in a military hue. The Reventon is the ultimate limited edition Lamborghini – just 20 will be built, at a cost of €1,000,000 each, and all have already been snapped up. Eleven cars go to America, seven stay in Europe, one will be dispatched to Japan and one to Dubai.”

13 Not Even Close: Lamborghini Gallardo Dodge Stratus

Carscoops

This unpleasant car is an attempt to turn a 1996 Dodge Stratus into a Lamborghini Gallardo. Car Scoops reports, “The only thing that’s going to make your smirk more than this caricature of a Lamborghini Gallardo is the eBay seller’s blatant admission that “at 15 feet away, the car…looks amazing.”

Fast Car

The car has a top speed of 144 miles per hour and goes from rest to 60 mph in 5.5 seconds.
