So what about those that have a complete and simple desire to go fast and have, for lack of better words, the need for speed. Well, the options are limitless, but to make things easier here are a few relatively attainable sports cars that will definitely please the speed freak in you.
10 Ford Shelby Mustang GT500
The last generation Ford Mustang is so far the best one in a long history of Mustangs. Now available in a multitude of trims and variants starting all the way from a 4 cylinder engine to the glorious V8. We have seen the greatly reviewed GT350 in the past years but now there is a new head Mustang in town in the form of the legendary GT500.

9 Dodge Challenger Hellcat Redeye
Most have been expecting to see this on the list as if the original Challenger Hellcat wasn't powerful enough. Dodge now produces the Redeye variant of the Hellcat, which gives the Challenger even more power on tap. The Hellcat Redeye comes with a supercharged 6.2L V8 capable of a mind-shattering 797 HP and 707 torque.
For those doing the math that is a whole 90 horsepower over the normal Hellcat trim. This all means that the Redeye can reach sixty mph in 3.4s and all the way across the quarter-mile line in 10.8s at 131 MPH.
8 Dodge Charger Hellcat Redeye
Of course you can't have one without the other, the second of the Hellcat sibling in the shape of a Dodge Charger. Long story short, the Charger version offers basically the same performance from the same engine has the big bad Challenger. The only real difference here is the number of doors you get.
So if you are in the market for a fast Dodge, it all comes down to your preference. Fun fact, the supercharger that is stuck to the V8 is a giant 2.7L, making it bigger than the engine of most cars on the road.
7 Chevrolet Yenko Camaro
Those that know about the history of Camaros, know the name Yenko. The regular V8 Camaro SS is no slouch when it comes to performance, Its 6.2L V8 gives out a healthy 455 HP and torque with a 4.0s zero to sixty time, which in all honesty more than enough for most people. For those that when more there is plenty of options from the factory, all the way to the fantastic 650 HP ZL1.
But for the select few that scoffs at those numbers, there is now a possibility of getting a Yenko Camaro, all you need a donor Camaro SS and you can have the pick of two available levels of performance, a 835 HP or a 1000 HP monster.
6 Bentley Continental GT
Bentley often seems like this posh sports car from Europe, but if one looks past the fancy luxury, under the sheet metal the Continental GT is all muscle. At the top of the model, the range is the W12 variant, that means a 6.0L twin-turbocharged W12 engine with 626 HP and 664 LB-FT of torque, and thanks to its AWD system, the Continental GT and reach sixty mph in 3.3 seconds. Imagine the possibility of doing the quarter-mile in 11.6 seconds while wrapped in comfort, crossing the line before you can say afternoon tea.
5 Nissan GTR
The Nissan GTR has made its name as this supercar killing track monster since its arrival over the decade ago. Yet somehow over 10 years later Godzilla is still kicking and competing at the top of the game. Although known as a track machine the GTR is no slouch when it comes to simple speed. The base non-NISMO GTR still packs a 565 HP twin-turbo Straight 6 engine capable of 2.7-second zero to sixty run. And for those that are into modifying and drag racing their cars, the GTR is no stranger to the strips, with record 1/4 mile runs such as this 6-second one.
4 BMW M8 Competition
The BMW M8 Competition is one of those cars that never ceases to amaze people with its performance. Despite its size, the M8 has been laying down some rather competitive performance against more expensive sports cars. The Bavarian halo car officially equipped with a 4.4L twin-turbocharged V8 produces 617 HP and a 3.3s time to get to sixty mph. Which all in all is a rather impressive performance if you compare it to the Goliaths of the industry. But for those that have been putting the car to the test, they have achieved even crazier performance figures, even 2.8s run.
3 Dodge Viper GTS
The last Dodge Viper is in itself a very sad sentence to say, the 8.4L V10 supercar is no more. But for those that managed to buy one, they are left with 640 HP and 600 LB-FT of torque from its ridiculously gigantic engine, effectively being able to run down the highway in a piece of automotive history.
2 Chevrolet Corvette
If you haven't heard of the new C8 Corvette then you probably live under a rock under the sea. But for those that have heard of it then you know that the new mid-engine Corvette is a performance bargain. The 6.2L V8 provides 495 HP and a 2.8 zero to sixty times. Only in time will we find out how ridiculous the Z06 and ZR1 models will be.
1 Jaguar F-Type SVR
In the guise of a sophisticated European sports car, the Jaguar F-Type is actually pure aggression. Its good old fashion supercharged V8 offers 567 HP and 516 LB-FT of torque. Able to hit 200 MPH, making the F Type SVR one of the rare Jaguar to achieve such a feat.
