Your average, everyday human typically looks for functionality in a car before making his/her purchase. We don't want something that isn't practical because we know that we'll be holding onto our investment for a long while before we're able to sell and buy a new vehicle. For celebrities, this is a very different scenario. Everyday people cannot always relate to celebs, and when it comes to their cars, this is usually out of the question.

Celebrities are - more often than not - at the forefront of car trends, showing off their blingy, overpriced rides. Buying a car takes on an entirely different purpose for someone who can afford just about any mode of transportation imaginable. But not all celebrities are flashy just because they can; some actually prefer to take to the shadows of California in a less noticeable car that sparks their attention. In fact, those that purchase a car well below their budget tend to become more attached to their vehicle. Don't get me wrong, though - celebrities are just as diverse as everyone else. And so are their cars.

20 Kristen Stewart's (Cheap) Toyota Pickup

In spite of the controversy over Kristen Stewart's casting as the lead in the Twilight Saga, she seems to fit the plain-Jane role even better than some may have previously suspected. In her daily life, this Hollywood star sports a plain, old Toyota pickup in a sea of sports cars and luxury sedans. Going against the grain isn’t unfamiliar to Stewart, and it’s no surprise that she prefers to keep things low-key when she's toting her significant other (pictured above) around the big city. Kristen Stewart’s choice of transportation gives her the luxury of blending into the scene (which is always an advantage for any celebrity). Her chameleon-like ride is aged and withered, but Stewart has been loyal in keeping it so far. She’s always seemed to keep a level of privacy in spite of her spotlight-ridden upbringing, though what may speak volumes about Stewart, according to her bizarre ride, is the lack of seating in the old 'Yota.' It makes for an up-close-and-personal journey, with little wiggle room on the cozy bench seat. It’s safe to say that she probably keeps her circle small; otherwise, they may just have to supply their own ride.

19 Kirk Cousins' (Cheap) GMC Savana

Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins isn’t just a football star; he’s also a rather economically savvy individual. Cousins and his wife attempt to save as much money as they possibly can, fully aware that nothing about his profession is guaranteed. Professional football is a high-paying career path, but it also has a pretty unpredictable longevity. Since anything can happen to Kirk, the family lives frugally. And they live by his philosophy that people should invest in appreciating assets rather than depreciating. This is most evident in Cousins' choice of a ride: a GMC Savannah.

Its original KBB value was set at $33k, but it’s had a little wear and tear since then that’s decreased its value significantly.

The van has been a reliable way to take his whole family out, and he stands behind his purchase, not because the van has a huge resale value but because it gets the job done every time. The Savannah is important to his family because he’s able to take all of his children and wife in a single vehicle; it’s very practical and reliable. It may not be the most fashionable car choice, but you have to hand it to him… he’s got a brilliant philosophy to blame for his frugalness.

18 Zach Galifianakis' (Cheap) Subaru Outback

It’s been frequently speculated that Zac Galifianakis isn't one to absorb the limelight, ironically enough. After his big break in the extremely successful movie, The Hangover, he's become a household name for Americans. Galifianakis sets himself apart with his quirky style – both physically and comedically. He seems to keep a pretty low profile when he’s not on set, so it’s not difficult to imagine him in anything other than a modest ride. On the other hand, he’s also been known to be a pretty funny guy. Who’s to say he’s not just putting on a show for the media to enjoy? Regardless of his intent, Galifianakis has been spotted driving a worn-down Subaru Outback. Whether or not this is his legitimate ride, it surely fits his eccentric getup. On many occasions, Galifianakis has thrown caution to the wind, showing up to galas with his signature disheveled look – leaning on ‘homeless, but not quite.’ When put into perspective how zany and ‘out there’ he is, you come to question: ‘What else would Zac Galifianakis drive?’ The Subaru Outback seems to have the bases covered for this star. With enough space to fit all of his entourage with legroom to spare, reliability that anybody would want, and a somewhat ugly exterior that was meant to appeal to the regular joe.

17 Snoop Dogg's (Relatively Cheap) Dodge Challenger

More recently, Snoop Dogg has managed to make his way into the rap hall of fame, officially. Pop culture has embraced Snoop as a rap legend now, and one can only expect that one of the most famous performers would only sport the best rides. Shockingly enough, though, one of these includes a Dodge Challenger. Don’t get me wrong — the Challenger is an excellent vehicle for anyone who craves tons of unbridled horsepower. Yet, it’s somewhat of a funny sight to see Snoop Dogg, the rap legend, driving such an inexpensive car.

The Dodge Challenger is known for its excessive comfort while offering over 400 horsepower.

It’s a smooth ride but also has the handling of a traditional muscle car that offers a lot more fun. While it’s not necessarily a flashy ride, the Challenger is a great option for any muscle-car enthusiast. And with an entire collection of luxury and vintage muscle cars, it’s not so far-fetched that Snoop would go for something a little more modern but uncompromising in the aspect of how fun it is. You won’t find a ton of celebrities driving this gem, but Snoop Dogg has an apparent eye for value at a convenient cost.

16 Eric Schmidt's (Cheap) Toyota Prius

Eric Schmidt was an Executive Chairman of Google for over 14 years before leaving in 2015. Today, he's one of the richest men in the world and considered to be a highly intelligent individual. One quirky thing you may know about Schmidt is his taste in vehicles.

For such a massively wealthy man, you’d think he’d like to ride in a top-of-the-line luxury sedan. Instead, he prefers his more modest Toyota Prius.

The car is considered to be worth $11k, but he added his own custom upgrades worth a total of $120k, so it’s safe to say that the value may have increased… Yet, this is still a fairly inexpensive vehicle – for a billionaire – even with his own personal touches added. Priuses typically attract a certain type of person to it; they’re extremely compact and offer minimal space for storage, which turn off the vast majority of car buyers from the start. Schmidt’s choice of ride is an earth-friendly oddity in comparison to most of the rich. Witnessing a highly intelligent and hugely successful man climb behind the wheel of one of these soda cans is priceless. We can’t exactly complain.

15 Warren Buffett's (Cheap) Cadillac XTS

One of the world's richest men can only be expected to be seen in the nicest of luxury vehicles. But this isn't entirely the case all of the time, especially if you're talking about Warren Buffet. This multi-billionaire likes to keep his ride relatively simple - for his economic status, anyway. Warren Buffett replaced his last Cadillac with a brand-spanking-new Cadillac XTS in 2014.

He’d kept his previous Cadillac for 6-7 years before kicking it to the curb, claiming that he drives around 3,000 miles per year.

If you haven't looked into Buffett's economic theory much, you'll be unsurprised to find that he emphasizes the importance of saving money instead of spending gobs on things that we don't need. While it's an earth-shattering sight to most of mainstream America to witness a successful and wealthy man driving a modest luxury vehicle, he's sticking to his guns with this. Buffet’s own code of ethics in regard to spending and saving comes into play, here. Don’t get us wrong - the Cadillac XTS isn’t necessarily a cheap vehicle, by any stretch of the imagination. However, for a man who can afford just about any car in the world, the humble Cadillac costs merely chump change for Buffet.

14 David Spade's (Cheap) Buick Grand National

David Spade is best known for his comedic roles on several movies and TV shows among other appearances. And in many of these films, Spade tends to play roles that are hilarious at his character’s own expense. Spade’s self-deprecating humor seems to extend into his real life, too. He’s known to have been quite a bit of a jokester, but in the eyes of the Hollywood elite, his car is the ultimate joke. When he wasn’t on screen partaking in grown-up antics, he could be found driving around in an old Buick. David Spade had a Buick Grand National for twelve years and just hadn't been able to part with it until late 2017. At this point, Spade finally put his classic ride up for sale for a modest $33k. In an episode of Jay Leno’s Garage, Spade was featured with his beloved (before selling it), referring to the Buick as a “troublemaker car.” He’s not too far off, though. Few celebs can fully appreciate the performance of an inexpensive American car, but Spade recognizes the Grand National’s power and comfort. It just goes to show that even big-name stars can cling to their humble roots.

13 Michael Dell's (Cheap As Of This Moment) Porsche Boxster

As the name implies, Michael Dell is famous for his corporation, Dell Inc. He and his wife are two of the wealthiest people in the world. Naturally, you’d expect that to mean that they’ve also got a taste for all things expensive. But that’s not exactly the case. Michael Dell has actually held onto his 2004 Porsche Boxster for quite some time. While the brand-new models are close to $100k, his could be sold for as low as $15k. While they’re fun, this Porsche model doesn’t compare to the beloved Carrera. Dell quite obviously enjoys a bit of speed but at a reasonable cost, it seems. The Boxster isn’t going to win any competitions for its design or its speed, for that matter, but it's still a fun, zippy car that you can weave through the winding Californian roads with ease. Not much light has been shed on the private lives of big billionaires like Dell, but it’s not hard to imagine that the big business life can have its bad days, too. The Boxster is likely a great recreational vehicle for Dell to blow off some steam. And who can blame a guy for that?

12 LeBron James' (Cheap) Kia K900

There have been plenty of car manufacturers that strive to attract buyers by way of celebrity endorsements. We can rest assured that LeBron James has committed to quite a few of his own; however, it's unexpected that James would take a liking to some of those products. James recently endorsed Kia's K900, its debut luxury car which is meant to appeal to a slightly different group of consumers. It's not uncommon for celebs to take home the vehicle which they endorse, but James has been spotted driving the K900 fairly often. What may have started out as a supplemental income seemed to turn into a true addition to James’ collection. We’re not sure if James was driving it entirely of his own free will or not, but it’s quite shocking to find a sports pro driving a run-of-the-mill sedan — not to say the K900 isn’t a good car, though; it certainly has its redeeming features. However, it’s not what you’d typically spot a famous athlete openly driving. It’s a thrifty car for James (especially considering that he got paid to take it home), but it’s also a pretty comfortable and modestly powerful ride.

11 Lana Del Rey's (Cheap As Of This Moment) Mercedes-Benz 450SL

Sometimes, we forget that things from the past have a certain grandeur and artful charm to them no matter their value. Lana Del Rey has oftentimes been thought to recognize this appreciation for the past in many of her artistic endeavors. The vintage Mercedes-Benz 450SL fits Del Rey’s eccentric personality like a glove. Lana seems to breathe an air of retro. In each of her music videos, you feel intoxicated and immersed in a world that’s traveled back into time. This Mercedes-Benz is a mere reflection of that. The Benz’s unforgettable design is what most likely drew the star to it in the first place. But what’s even more shocking is its extreme affordability. Who knew that luxury could come at such a low cost? There’s not been a reported appraised value of Del Rey’s Benz, but a 450SL in a similar condition is expected to be worth close to $12k. That’s cheaper than the average person’s everyday vehicle. While the artist is often thought to be glamorous, she’s also a bit of a free-spirited person; the affordable Benz is perfect for this unique celeb.

10 Leonardo DiCaprio's (Sweet) Fisker Karma

Leonardo DiCaprio has an interesting history with his luxury ride. It’s fairly well known that the actor has had a passion for environmentalism from a young age. He chose to drive a Prius for a number of years before swapping it out for his more-fitting Fisker Karma. What's extraordinary about this car, though, is his exceptional relationship with the mind behind it all. Henrik Fisker was actually inspired to start his company by DiCaprio himself! When Fisker spotted DiCaprio driving his modest Prius to the Oscars, this caused him to notice an uncharted business venture: luxury rides that are also easy on the environment. Leonardo DiCaprio was taken aback when Fisker admitted this to him because DiCaprio himself had become a proud supporter of the eco-friendly company and had even invested in it as well. Not only is DiCaprio riding in style, but he's also driving something with a message behind it, something that he’d caused into fruition by his own bold statement. The Fisker has since provided a superb eco-friendly ride to those with a bit more cash to shell out and who’d like something more tasteful and exhilarating than a run-of-the-mill electric car.

9 Jay-Z's Maybach (Sweet) Exelero

The Maybach Exelero is most known for its exceptionally glamorous exterior, almost as much as it is for its hefty price tag. The Exelero is such a smooth ride through and through, from its sleek edges to its insane handling. Jay-Z has been reported to be very particular about keeping his car impeccably clean up until its last days in his possession. His luxury chariot was priced to be worth a whopping $350,000 brand new. And why wouldn’t he provide only the best ride for his queen? What’s most interesting about the story of Jay-Z’s Maybach is not how he came to select this car but what fate he’d chosen for it. He and Kanye West destroyed the Maybach in a music video for the song, Otis. The duo had pieces of the Maybach sawed clear off of it; the doors were removed, and the fenders were replaced with rough-looking custom replacements. Afterward, the car was sold in an auction for $60,000, and the proceeds were donated to charity. But the donation only softens the pain for a car enthusiast. For many, a Maybach is considered an artful, high-performance luxury vehicle. Such a beautiful car is bound to have many stories behind it; let’s just hope not all Exeleros have an incredibly unfortunate ending.

8 Miley Cyrus's (Sweet) McLaren MP4 12C

Not long prior to her struggle with depression – following her breakup with Liam Hemsworth – Miley Cyrus bought herself a McLaren MP4 12C. The McLaren MP4 12C is one of the only cars entirely designed by McLaren. Miley Cyrus has garnered a large amount of attention from the media ever since she first performed onstage. It’s only fitting that Cyrus would select a car that would gain just as much audience approval.

Her McLaren is able to go from zero to sixty in 2.8 seconds and is able to reach a top speed of 207 miles per hour.

The McLaren MP4 12C is easily the most expensive car in Miley’s possession. The McLaren’s flashy style and high-performance capabilities allow it to rank as a supercar, which means that it also comes at a high cost. It's been rumored that Cyrus purchased hers for close to $130k. She may not have the classiest approach to performance, but Miley can definitely choose a nice vehicle.

7 Justin Bieber's (Sweet) Lincoln Continental

Since the beginning of his YouTube days, Justin Bieber has attracted flocks of attention and followers. Bieber’s collection of unique and expensive cars doesn’t exactly help avoid the media coverage. One of his cars that he’d received from a friend for his 21st birthday (in 2015) is perhaps one of the most notable because of its originality. Justin Bieber has a classic 1965 Lincoln Continental that's worth checking out. The car has been customized from its original look to have a more urban vibe. It was rumored that Bieber took the car to the famed West Coast Customs to have the car completely transformed. The Continental could stand on its own as a high-performance luxury ride, but with Bieber’s modifications, it looks even cleaner. Among many customizations, he had the suspension lowered, custom tires and rims installed, and a matte-black paint job – which is a preference of Justin’s for many of his cars. Some sources have claimed that much of the changes to the Continental were made by Justin’s friend who gifted it to him. One thing's for sure, though: Lincoln has a priceless reputation in the world of American cars.

6 Cristiano Ronaldo's (Sweet) Bugatti Chiron

Cristiano Ronaldo has his own fair share of exquisite vehicles. In fact, his car collection includes a Bugatti, a Rolls-Royce, an Aston Martin, a Lamborghini, and a Porsche. And if that doesn’t take your breath away, then a more close-up view of his most recently purchased Bugatti — a custom Chiron CR7 — will. Ronaldo bought the sleek Bugatti in late 2017 for $3 million.

The Chiron is even faster than its predecessor, the Veyron. It has also broken many records for having the fastest 0-249-0 mph.

With that said, it’s crazy to think that these are even legal to drive on the road. Being a renowned soccer player, Ronaldo has earned a title of greatness in the soccer world. So, what better way to celebrate his achievements than with a car as flashy as the Bugatti Chiron? The car may seem impractical to the average joe, but you can rest assured that Cristiano likely has more than enough to maintain this beast, although, in spite of its greatness, the Bugatti still has a new competitor as far as speed goes: The Hennessy Venom F5. Ronaldo may have invested at the wrong time. Ronaldo’s car will have a short duration of glory for being the fastest, but it's still a slick ride nonetheless.

5 Floyd Mayweather's (Sweet) Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita

Floyd Mayweather is a living legend, as most may know. And for those who aren’t fully aware, Mayweather is a pretty impressive boxer, to put it modestly. Mayweather had an undefeated record of 50-0, trailing only behind Ricardo Lopez. He’s regarded by many, including The Ring, ESPN, FOX, and Box Rec, as the best pound-for-pound boxer of all time. According to Forbes, Mayweather is also considered to be one of the top ten richest athletes, along with Michael Jordan and others who reside in the hall-of-fame. Now, he's leaving his impression on car enthusiasts as well by driving the most expensive car in the world: a Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita. Its sharp design is the perfect aesthetic for this pro.

The Koenigsegg has really earned its reputation for speed while offering a sensational feel with its luxurious comfort.

It has a top speed of over 254 miles per hour. One could only assume that this was an important aspect of the car-buying decision for Mayweather — that and the fact that its carbon-fiber exterior beautifully shimmers in the light, giving off a look of strength and beauty. Mayweather was clearly knowledgeable in his selection, careful not to compromise velocity nor style.

4 Beyoncé Knowles' (Sweet) Mercedes-Benz McLaren SLR Supercar

We all know that Jay-Z has his own share of luxury cars in his collection, although it’s sometimes forgotten that women can have just as much of a love for cars. In this case, Beyoncé serves as a prime example; she doesn’t settle for anything less than what her husband drives. The Queen B – otherwise known as, Beyoncé – makes sure that everyone is aware of just how royal she truly is. Beyoncé doesn’t go halfway with anything, and that definitely includes her choice of ride. Her car is an extraordinarily elite Mercedes-Benz McLaren collaboration. The SLR is one of only 3,500 in existence. The car can accelerate from 0-60 in 3.6 seconds and is worth a base cost of $455,000. And we’re fairly certain that the Queen B didn’t settle for the basic package. This rare Mercedes-Benz McLaren is one of a kind, not just under the hood but physically as well. It resembles its Mercedes-Benz counterparts but with much more flare and expensive finishes. It’s a striking ride, especially for any Mercedes fan. It’s evident from the car’s smooth prowl across the pavement that it’s only fit for a queen.

3 Steven Tyler's (Sweet) Hennessey Venom GT Spyder

The Hennessey Venom is an extraordinary car that rivals the Bugatti in both speed and rising popularity. Steven Tyler purchased his very own Venom GT Spyder for an unforgiving price tag of $1.1 million. If that doesn’t take you aback, then the exceptional performance surely will. With a top speed of 265.6 miles per hour, the Spyder is now (officially) considered the fastest convertible sports car in the world. Steven Tyler, the former lead singer of the band Aerosmith, was especially quick to take a liking to the vehicle. Tyler has appeared in several TV shows and movies; he was a judge on American Idol as well as a singer and songwriter. But Tyler also experienced a heavy addiction to drugs and alcohol in his glory years. Given Steven’s fast life, it’s absolutely no shock that he'd select one of the fastest cars on earth for himself. In fact, Tyler was the very first person in the world to buy the Hennessey Venom GT Spyder. After only a few years of ownership, though, Tyler gave up his dream ride and sold it for a total of $881k. We’re not sure what caused him to give it up, but it’s not far-fetched to assume that this is a lot of car, even for a big-time rocker like Tyler.

2 Nicholas Cage's (Sweet) Ferrari 599 GTB

It’s common knowledge that Nicholas Cage has experienced financial turmoil in the past few years. This has caused Cage to slowly sell off each of his assets one by one. This is probably not easy for Cage, considering that he has an unbelievable collection of rare and valuable cars, one of which was his Ferrari 599 GTB stick shift.

This car was extremely rare and valuable. Unfortunately, he had to sell the car in 2014, which was shortly after he sold his Ferrari Enzo (another from his collection). Cage’s 599 GTB was one of the only 599s that had a stick. While it’s not currently known how much Cage purchased the 599 GTB for, it is known that he was able to sell it for a reduced price to his friend for $599,000. This is considered to be one of the most expensive cars ever owned by a celebrity.

1 Paris Hilton's (Sweet) Lexus LFA

Paris Hilton has come to be known primarily for her spoiled, celebrity drama and reality TV shows that clog up the media. Throughout her many appearances, Paris makes no attempt to end the rumors passed along the celebrity gossip pipeline; in fact, she actually embraces it. Some have claimed that she’s only used her infamy to become even more wealthy. Needless to say, Miss Hilton isn’t going hungry anytime soon, and if her choice of dress didn’t give it away, then her collection of cars definitely will.

One of the most notable cars that Paris Hilton has owned is her Lexus LFA.

This is one of the most significant cars to the Toyota Motor Co. due to its groundbreaking technology. The new models included an even-firing V10 engine and a carbon-fiber body. The car is attractive with clean edges and an enormous amount of power. Unfortunately for Hilton, in 2013, her loan payments were revealed. The public became appalled at the $5,600 payment that Hilton paid each month for her LFA. This outraged many Americans; however, Paris Hilton’s publicity only increased, which actually helped her make more money in the long run. In other words, she’s probably not going to be giving up her cars anytime in the near future.
