GM plans to unleash many new vehicles on the sales floor between 2020 and 2025, with some cars not even unveiled to the public for show at this point. The company plans to spend $20 billion between now and 2025, with approximately $3 billion a year on EV development. Plans for future vehicles from GM include a new version of the Chevrolet Bolt, the Cadillac Lyriq, as well as a 2022 Chevrolet Bolt electric utility vehicle for summer 2021. GM also plans to expand its hands-free driving Super Cruise technology to 22 vehicles by 2023, including 10 by 2021.

While a lot of these vehicles haven't officially been unveiled yet, let alone shown to the public, they have several new upgrades and features that make them worth the wait. GM is focusing its efforts on a lot of SYV and crossover vehicles, as well as placing an emphasis on electric systems. Many EVs from GM will use the company’s adaptable electric vehicle platform and stackable, reconfigurable Ultium battery packs.

10 Cadillac Lyriq

The Cadillac Lyriq, one of Cadillac's first three electric cars to hit the market, is an XT5-sized two-row SUV. It was first teased just before the 2019 Detroit auto show, and GM has suggested it will arrive after the GMC Hummer sometime in 2022. The Cadillac Lyriq will be GM’s first electric vehicle, intended as a competitor to the Jaguar I-Pace and Audi E-Tron. The Lyriq features a swoopy and low-slung crossover design.

9 Hummer SUT

The Hummer SUT, likely standing for "sport-utility truck," is a pickup that plans to begin production in fall 2021. The Hummer SUT is also a name previously applied to the stubby Hummer H2 pickup. The Hummer SUT plans to be on sale as a 2022-model-year offering. That said, the exact timing of the Hummer SUT's arrival on the sales floor is not yet known.

8 2021 Chevy Bolt

The 2021 Chevy Bolt is both more affordable and offers more range (21 extra miles) than its predecessor, complete with cosmetic upgrades. It also features new seats that are more attractive, with a cool pattern on the bolstering and additional comfort. The infotainment system gets a redesigned update, and the Bolt will sport adaptive cruise control and a push-button gear selector. The battery remains unchanged.

7 Hummer SUV

The Hummer SUV has a long wheelbase, large off-road tires, and a targa top that can be removed and stored in the front trunk. It also features an upright windshield, boxy lines, and rugged running boards to assistant riders with entry and exit. The SUT pickup will be offered with one, two, and three drive motors, and there will be base models and fancier trims with off-road capability. In addition, its battery is tuned more for acceleration and driving range than it is in the SUT pickup.

6 2022 GMC Hummer

According to GM, the 2022 GMC Hummer sport/utility pickup and SUV due to begin production at the automaker's Hamtramck assembly plant in late 2021. These will be two of 10 future electric car models GM plans to unleash by 2025. Super Cruise, one of GM's newest hands-free driving features installed in its most recent vehicles, is also getting upgrades. GM aims to have Super Cruise have lane-changing abilities and self-driving capability.

5 2021 Chevy Tahoe

The 2021 Chevy Tahoe is still considered an iconic vehicle that GM claims to be very proud of. GM still plans to release the 2021 Chevy Tahoe by late 2020. Showcasing its staying power, the Chevy Tahoe has been in the market for 25 years. Chevy has sold around 100,000 Tahoes each year since 2016. GM plans a redesign for the Tahoe, including two segment-first options, Air Ride Adaptive Suspension system, and Magnetic Ride Control.

4 Cadillac Escalade EV

The Cadillac Escalade EV is planned to be released around 2023. This vehicle is an electric variant for the base Cadillac Escalade. The Escalade-sized EV has a design derived from forthcoming Hummer EV by GMC. The Cadillac Escalade EV aims to put out 1,000 horsepower, which is the same as the Hummer, and it will be constructed with GM’s Ultium battery technology and modular electric vehicle platform.

3 2021 Chevy Suburban

The 2021 Chevy Suburban plans to hit sales floors in mid-2020. The Suburban has been in the market for 85 years, and the Suburban, showcasing its staying power as the industry's oldest nameplate. Chevy has sold around 60,000 Suburbans every year in the US since 2016. GM considers the vehicle iconic and plans to redesign it for the future, adding an independent rear suspension to create more interior space, as well as Air Ride Adaptive Suspension system and Magnetic Ride Control.

2 Chevrolet Bolt EUV

The Chevrolet Bolt EUV is one of 10 future electric car models GM plans to roll out by 2025. Production will begin in late 2021 at GM's Hamtramck assembly plant in late 2021. The Chevrolet Bolt EUV is intended to become the first non-Cadillac to offer Super Cruise, which GM plans to upgrade with both lane-changing abilities and self-driving capability. Chevrolet will add the new Bolt EUV to the 2022 model year lineup. GM considers the vehicle a larger, more SUV-like Bolt variant, with a more upright look and a sunroof. This will be the first vehicle outside of Cadillac to offer hands-free driving Super Cruise technology.

1 Cadillac Celestiq

The Cadillac Celestiq plans to be GM's new flagship sedan. It will be all-electric and features a new, unique, and unmistakable design. The Celestiq is a massive four-door, four-passenger full-size car with a hatch, as opposed to a trunk in back. Further, plans call for the Celestiq to be a four-passenger lounge that gives passengers significant distance and stretching room. While the grand reveal and official images have yet to be released, concept images have been constructed, fueling mass speculation among GM's customer base.
