What is it about cars that turns women on? Well, that’s as difficult a question to answer as whether or not a given outfit makes a person look overweight. The truth is, there are a lot of different things, but it usually boils down to performance, capability, comfort, and reliability. If your car is a complete dud that’s too small and uncomfortable to sit in, she’s going to absolutely hate it.

On the other hand, if your car has the right amount of luxury, decent performance, and is actually comfortable to spend time in, then she’ll be more than happy to be hauled around in it from time to time. Iconic cars are typically always good choices and women will love to see you in them as long as you don't treat the car better than you do her. It will really help if you let her drive it from time to time to show her it's not the most essential part of your life, but we’ll leave that discussion for another time.

Obviously, you’re here to know what cars women will go bonkers over and which ones will make her run for the hills, and we’ve put together a nice comprehensive list that includes 13 cars women will love to see you drive and 12 more than she won’t want any part of.

25 Yay: Chevy Camaro

Yello 2018 Chevrolet Camaro
Chevrolet

The ladies tend to love high-performance cars, and the Chevy Camaro is one of them. It’s stylish outside, elegant inside, and it comes with a decent powertrain lineup that fits almost all personalities. If your ideal girl likes to be green, then the 2.0-liter turbo engine offers up good fuel economy while still pumping out 275 horsepower. Or, there’s the 3.6-liter V-6 that still returns decent fuel economy with 335 horsepower on tap. If she’s not into being green, there’s always the 455-horsepower V-8 that’ll be sure to turn her on.

The point is that the car looks good and it’s fast, offering a quarter-mile run in as fast as 12.3 seconds according to Chevy.

Putting the hammer down sticks you to the seat and will get her blood pumping in a way that only American muscle can. With pricing between about $27,000 and $43,000, it sits at a price point that says you’re not cheap, but you’re not overly compulsive with your money, either. Of course, you could always go with the bonkers Camaro ZL1 and its 650-horsepower, supercharged, V-8. It’ll set you back at least $62,000, but it’ll get you to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds, almost as fast as it’ll take her to swipe right.

24 Ew: Buick Cascada

via Buick

If you’re more interested in spending your nights playing video games and getting more familiar with your right hand, go ahead and buy a Buick Cascada. Seriously, have you ever seen one of these things on the road? I’m guessing not, and that’s because it’s a big flop everywhere. Women don’t even like to buy and drive this car, so what makes you think women will love to see you drive this thing? Sure, sure it might not be that bad with those “I don’t care about what you drive” type of women, but we all know those girls are typically crazy and will eventually use that pile of crap against you.

So, if you’re thinking about buying a Cascada, just don’t. There’s not a lot of room in the rear, so it’s not a good family car.

It’s a mid-sized car with a subpar, 200-horsepower four-cylinder, so it’s a complete turd when you’re trying to get on it, and it’s just outright ugly. All the Cascada will prove is that you were too cheap to buy a proper convertible and went with the cheapest model you can find just to have a drop top. You might as well browse craigslist and find yourself an old convertible Pontiac Sunfire – at least then you’ll have an excuse for subpar technology and ugly looks. And, with a starting price of around $34,000, you might as well just spring up $38,000 for an Audi A3 Cabriolet – it won’t be American, but at least it’s not ugly. If it comes down to buying American and Spending a few thousand more for something that looks decent, we’ll forgive you for buying German and so will the women of the world.

23 Yay: Ford Mustang

via Ford

To put it simply, women love the Ford Mustang. They always have, and probably always will. And, the best part is, this isn’t limited to girls that love big engines either. The Ford Mustang can be had in two different flavors – EcoBoost or GT. In coupe form, both cars look identical outside, including that sexy fastback design. The EcoBoost and its four-cylinder engine are enough to get any woman’s heart going thanks to its delivery of 310 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. That’s enough power to fuse her back to the seat on a sprint to 60 mph that, according to Ford, takes less than five seconds. If she’s skeptical, just throw it into Drag Strip mode and put the hammer down; we promise she’ll change her mind about your four-cylinder muscle car.

The best part is, this model will impress the economically minded as well since it returns more than 30 mpg on the highway, a figure that makes even longer road trips in your pony car easily affordable. If she’s really attracted to speed, that GT Fastback will get her motor running with its 460-horsepower V-8 and sub-four-second sprint to 60 mph. The interior of the Mustang is comfortable and has a premium feel to it. There’s plenty of leather and decent room in the rear too. You can even take things a step further with the convertible, which is perfect for a late-night drive and a date under the stars. With pricing starting at less than $26,000 for the EcoBoost Coupe or $36,000 for the GT Mustang Coupe, the Mustang won’t break the bank, either.

22 Ew: Chevy Spark

Via Chevy

If you’re expecting to go anywhere and keep any woman happy, don’t find yourself driving a Chevy Spark. It’s not only tiny and ugly with a lackluster and clunky interior, but it’s a complete turd with even Motortrend saying it "struggles to get going." It also doesn't seem to carry resale value so it's hard to argue that it may be a good investment. You show up to pick up a girl for a first date in this thing; you better have a good excuse. In fact, you better say it’s a rental because your (insert literally any other car name here) is in the shop.

This thing has next to no space inside and despite marketing efforts by Chevy, it’s not “cool” either. You might attract the type of women that say, “that’s a cute car,” but she’s also going to say something else is cute and ruin the last shred of dignity you have before she goes and tells her friends what she really thinks. That, of course, won’t be much because you’re driving a Spark to begin with, but you get the idea. You’ll pay out less than $14,000 for a new one off the showroom floor which may come off as being money conscious to you but all they’ll see is that you’re cheap and was more worried about buying a new car than you were saving for something that was decent and worth hanging onto for a while.

21 Yay: Ford Focus RS

via Ford

Cars might not be as popular as they once were, but hatchbacks still carry a lot of weight when it comes to women. The best part is you don’t have to buy German or Japanese to get one. There’s a home-grown model that provides plenty of gut-wrenching, tire-shredding power while looking good and feeling comfortable too. I’m talking about, of course, the Ford Focus RS. Word has it that there won’t be a next-generation model here in the U.S., so you may have to buy a slightly used model, but we promise you that women will love it. The Focus RS has a timeless design that features rally-inspired cues outside and an interior suitable for nothing less than a sports car. We’re talking about plenty of full-leather, and RECARO seats that even feature Miko-Dinamica inserts with embossed RS logos.

They aren’t only comfortable, but supportive as well, so she won’t be moving all over the place as you do a little showing off.

You will show off, by the way, and she’s going to love it because that 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine delivers 350 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque to all four wheels via a six-speed manual transmission. It handles great, and you can control the intake and exhaust for more or less sound. With drift mode, you can take her into an empty parking lot and put on a smoke show if she’s into that kind of thing. And, according to Car & Driver, it can hit 60 mph in 4.6 seconds. Buying one new will set you back by at least $41,000, but you and the ladies are going to love it.

20 Ew: Ford Fiesta

via Ford

The Fiesta can be a cool car if you go for the ST Hatchback, but most women won’t appreciate the fact that you’re driving a fiesta. And, don’t even think about the sedan; it seriously looks like a cross between the Ford Fusion and Ford Focus that went horribly wrong. In fairness, you’ll do a little better in a new Fiesta than you will an old-school model but just don’t do it. The Car Connection says it has "barely there rear seats," so don’t even think about throwing a baby in there someday, and unless you like to struggle to get on the highway, you’re not going to enjoy the driving experience either.

Like all compact “affordable” cars, the interior is lackluster, and there’s nothing to write home about on the technology front either. This is another one of those “it’s cute” type of cars but the kind of woman that says that leaves you for the first guy that shows up in something better. To prove a point of how much people dislike that Fiesta, it’s one of the many models that Ford won’t be selling in the U.S. anymore. If the general base of consumers hate it that much, what makes you’ll think any woman is going to like you driving one? Well, sorry to tell you, friend, but they won’t. But, if you must try, you might as well buy a new model from the current generation since it starts out at about $14,000 – at least you know it won’t be beaten on like any used buckets you’ll find on craigslist.

19 Yay: Chevy Silverado 1500

Via Chevy

Muscle cars and hot hatches are cool and all but there are plenty of country girls out there, and they love trucks. In some cases, the bigger, the better, so you probably won’t be criticized by throwing on a small lift kit and some bigger, mud-flinging tires for some off-road fun. The Chevy Silverado is a good starting point to impress any woman with a country background. According to Chevy, the new Silverado 1500 as its most capable truck ever but if you’re not into the latest design, the old model won’t disappoint either. If you go with the latest model, most women love the TrailBoss with the Z71 Off-road package if they are into getting a little dirty, but some women will actually prefer the High Country if they are more into luxury and hauling the horses to the latest equestrian event. All trim levels offer a rather luxurious interior, but you’ll certainly find more leather in the higher trim levels.

The Silverado can serve as a family vehicle as well thanks to the large rear seat, so that’s another selling point for family oriented women. The new Silverado can be had with a four-cylinder engine, but if you’re going to be doing some hauling or serious playing, you’ll need the 355-horsepower, 5.3-liter, V-8 or the 420-horsepower, 6.2-liter, V-8. On that note, Motortrend says that it can haul as much as 12,500 pounds when properly equipped. In the end, women love trucks and women love the Silverado. You really can’t go wrong with this one.

18 Ew: Ford EcoSport

via Ford

People generally love SUVs, and so do the ladies, but do yourself a favor and smack yourself a few times if you’re considering a Ford EcoSport. First, it’s essentially a Ford Fiesta on jacked up suspension, so it looks even dumber than the fiesta. You might have a little more room inside, but good luck finding a woman that’s happy to be in there in the first place. The EcoSport is plagued by the plastic interior, while the outside is dominated by cheap plastic trim as well.

According to Top Gear, the rear seat is still cramped despite a recent update so don't expect any woman to remain happy back there for long.

For the $20,000 starting price on a new model or the $15,000 price of a decent used model, you might as well spend your money on a slightly used, larger SUV. Sure, it might be a bit older, but you’ll still come out ahead by upgrading the sound system and slapping on a new set of wheels. In short, if you’re going out to pull ladies on a Friday night, and you own an EcoSport, you might as well call grandma and ask to borrow the Cadillac because you’ll have a better chance drawing girls to yourself. At least you won’t look cheap when you show up driving Ford’s smallest, economy SUV.

17 Yay: Chevy Corvette

via Chevy

Ladies are into fast sports cars, and that means that you can’t go wrong with the Chevy Corvette. It’s American made, and it's as iconic as it is fast. It won’t impress a woman who’s looking to settle down right away, but if you’re not ready to settle down and she’s into fun drives and the occasional day at the track, the Corvette will satisfy all yours (and her) desires. So, what makes the Corvette so attractive to women outside of its exterior design? Let’s start with the aluminum, 6.2-liter, V-8 that’s good for 455 horsepower and, according to Car & Driver, a sprint to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds.

Oh, and the interior, it’ll come complete with an Alcantara wrapped center console and steering wheel. So, it’s not only fast, but it’s comfortable and luxurious as well.

The best part is that you can have it with a seven-speed manual transmission or an eight-speed automatic with paddle shifters. Of course, an iconic car like this won’t come cheap, so you’ll have to shell out more than $55,000 just for an entry-level model. You can get used ones a bit cheaper but Corvettes tend to hold their value well, so this is one of those cars you want to buy new if you can. There is a caveat to owning the Corvette, though, as women don’t appreciate you babying a car more than her. Make that mistake and you’ll find she will have a hard time deciding what she hates more; you or the car.

16 Ew: Ford Flex

via Ford

The Ford Flex might offer a decent interior and is much more upscale than some of the more economical offerings on the market, but it looks like an oversized toaster on wheels. There’s absolutely nothing attractive about it. From the front to the rear it’s downright ugly and has, for lack of better words, a lazy design. It does offer plenty of cargo room if you put the rear seats down, but as Autotrader points out, there's little cargo room with the third one in place. Seating inside is somewhat spacious but the interior is pretty basic, and even models equipped with leather upholstery have cheap leather that feels fake. After a couple of years, the interior panels begin to squeak, and clunk from poor fitment issues so don’t even consider buying a used one – good luck finding a woman that won’t complain about an annoying squeak on long road trips.

And, when buying new, you’ll have to spring extra cash if you even want decent technology. For a $30,000 entry price you can at least buy something that’s a lot more attractive that doesn’t repel women. On the plus side, the Flex could portray that you’re conscious enough about your decisions that you plan ahead as far as family mobility goes, but let’s be honest; unless you’re already in a long-term committed relationship that’s not going to do you a whole lot of good anyway.

15 Yay: Chevy Impala

Via Chevy

Not all women are into sports cars, and some look to the future. That’s where the Chevy Impala comes in. First, it’s not a Malibu, so it shows you not just cheap out and buy the first sedan on the lot. Secondly, it’s quite luxurious and stands on its own against its German competitors. If you go for higher trim levels, you can even have full leather interior and navigation. The range-topping Premier trim even comes complete with a 305-horsepower V-6. It won’t give you the full sports sedan feel, but it’ll certainly get you up to speed in time. More importantly, though, women will know that you’re not someone who needs a two-seater sports car or German engineering to make yourself feel whole. There’s plenty of room in the back so you’ll be good to go when you start a family, and the car looks excellent these days thanks to its dominating design and stout body lines.

With comfortable seats, plenty of cargo room, and a decent sound system, most women will find it comfortable and won’t complain much on longer trips. Oh, and since it comes with an automatic transmission and won’t cost a fortune to repair if they break it, you can keep her happy by letting her drive your car from time to time. Don’t ask us why, but women love the Impala, and with a new price range of about $29,000 to $37,000, you’ll still have money left over to take her out on occasion too.

14 Ew: Dodge Journey

via Dodge

If you think any woman is going to like the Dodge Journey, then you should probably to a good hard look at it and come to terms with the fact that Dodge doesn’t even like the Journey. It’s been on the market since 2009 and hasn’t changed since 2011. That means it’s essentially ten years old and it’s more outdated than nearly any car on the market. It’s not much more than a sportier minivan that’s available with all-wheel drive, and, despite the fact that Dodge tries to market it with pretty women by its side, the ladies won’t like it. Most of them won’t even know what it is. Sure, mystery can go a long way, but this car will cause nothing but nagging from any woman that rides inside it. There is a GT model that looks kind of cool but it’s still a Journey, and it’s still void of any decent technology that could make it stand out.

Certain models do offer seating for seven, and there’s even a built-in cooler if you’re into an active lifestyle, but that’s still a hard selling point for most women.

Plus, you don't want a model with a four-cylinder and even the newer six-speed automatic is a bit clunky. Car & Driver even said the four-cylinder Journey should be reserved for nothing more than rental fleets and that the new transmission is inconsistent at best. On the plus side, Dodge is practically giving new models away with pricing just above the $20,000 mark, making it one of the cheapest midsize crossovers on the market, but it’s not unheard of for it to have mechanical problems either. Either way, if you must have one and try to beat the odds, you might as well buy a used one and save the money to make repairs on a regular basis.

13 Yay: Ford F-150

Via Ford

Whether she’s about working on the country farm, riding in luxury to that equestrian meet, or going off-roading, you’ll find that women will always appreciate the Ford F-150. To put it simply, the F-150 is, arguably, the most attractive truck on the market. If she is one that rides horses and will ask you to drag her and her horses across the country, then the F-150 Lariat will get you there in comfort. If you guys are into off-roading, then you definitely can’t go wrong with the F-150 Raptor and its awesome off-road package.

If you guys just want that country life and the truck to go with it, she’ll definitely be attracted to the F-150 King Ranch.

If she’s just a general truck lover, you can go with the XLT or the Platinum, and you’ll even have room in the back for when the firstborn comes. All of them offer up plenty of power as well, with output ranging anywhere from 325 horsepower all the way up to 450 ponies in the Ranger Raptor. According to Ford, The 3.5-liter, EcoBoost, V-6 can even pull as much as 13,200 pounds if you have the towing packages. Maximum payload capacity is as much as 3,270, so you can help her friends and family haul things around too. This is another one of those models that you can’t go wrong with. As long as she loves trucks, she’ll love whatever F-150 you happen to drive.

12 Ew: Chrysler Pacifica

Via Chrysler

The Chrysler Pacifica, especially in its newest form, is a nice vehicle. However, it’s not the type of vehicle that most women will be into unless you already have a family or are planning one in the near future. It’s a vehicle you buy with your wife when you start a family. So, don’t even expect to attract any women in a Pacifica, as they are more likely to think you’re there cheating on your wife than they are to look at any good qualities that you might bring to the table. There’s nothing wrong with preparing for the future, and at an entry price of $27,000, the Pacific is decent looking and well equipped, but you cut your chances of having a happy woman drastically by owning one in a lot of cases. You don’t want to be that creepy van guy do you? And, in case you think the whole “party van” mindset still works, it doesn’t. Maybe if you drive an old Volkswagen Bus, you might be able to pull it off, but it’s not going to fly in a Pacifica. Oh, and by the way, Chrysler has been on the death watch list for a while, so the chances are that the brand will be defunct in the next few years. Automotive News even reports that the brand may be axed in the very near future, so you may want to just avoid Chrysler as a whole altogether.

11 Yay: Dodge Challenger

via Dodge

Women love American muscle, and the sheer sound of the Challenger’s exhaust note is definitely an instant turn on. The body design is a bit old, but it’s also a timeless design that’s just as smooth as you need to be if you want to keep a good woman around. Even the entry-level model comes with a powerful V-6 that’s good for 305 horsepower but if she really likes it when you get frisky, you’ll need to at least go for the Challenger R/T as it has the 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 that’s good for 372 horsepower – enough to command a powerful presence and put her deep into the seat when you step on the gas.

The challenger isn’t necessarily as nice as some of the German cars on the road, but it competes pretty well against the Camaro and the Mustang. Plus, if you pull up in a Challenger, you’ll come off as a guy that’s a little less conventional than the guys that go for the Camaro or the Mustang. With pricing starting out at about $34,000 for a brand-new R/T it’s not hard on the bank account, and if you can’t buy new, you can get a reasonably used one at a decent price too. Either way, she’ll dig it, and you’ll both look good where ever you decide to go.

10 Ew: Chevy Sonic

2018 Chevy Sonic is a high safety rated car
via Chevy

The Chevy Sonic isn’t much larger than the Chevy Spark (we’re talking about a few inches here,) and it falls into the same “just don’t” category. It’s practically a more aggressive version of the Sonic and does more to anger women than it does attract them or make them happy. The interior is typical GM repurposed design, but it does come with lots of customization options. On that note, those customization options are similar to what back-yard modifiers did in the late 90s and early 2000s, so it’s not exactly modern customization and looks kind of cheap. That’s certainly something most women will find annoying, and they won’t enjoy the lack of room in the rear or the lackluster interior at all. If you go with the RS trim, you get a little bit of leather inside and a slightly more aggressive exterior, but it’s really not much to write home about.

The car isn’t fast by any means and doesn’t really get up to speed quickly either, with Autotrader claiming that the engine gets "winded on hilly roads." And, if you do get stuck with one, at least make sure you get the hatchback and not the sedan. No woman will ever be okay with you driving a Sonic Sedan. There’s just nothing really impressive about this thing aside from the $15,000 starting price for a brand-new model. Of course, that just tells women that you’re broke, so that’s not much of a plus either, is it?

9 Yay: Jeep Wrangler

via Jeep

Women generally like to spend time outside, and some even like to get dirty. If your woman likes hitting the dunes, climbing rocks, or any other general off-road mayhem, you don’t want to pass on the Jeep Wrangler. You could go for the JK-generation of the JL-generation, it doesn’t really matter. Both are extremely capable, and all women will recognize you as a man makes sure he has the right tool for the job. The best part is the removable top and doors that will allow for plenty of open-air driving in the warm summer sun – something all women tend to enjoy. You won’t impress her by winning any drag races of mountain-road sprints, but she’ll have a blast when you take her off road through just about any terrain you can find. If you get the right model, it’ll come complete with a winch, a small lift kit, and larger tires that are suitable for sticker situations. If you buy a new model, you’ll have to modify it yourself to make it even more off-road capable, but there’s a plethora of aftermarket parts available and plenty from MOPAR as well. If she’s into the off-road life, she’ll even understand the necessity to upgrade and modify it, so the Wrangler is also a good bet.

8 Ew: Chrysler 300

via Chrysler

Some women will be happy to see their man driving a Chrysler 300, but you’re probably better off going with just about anything else. The 300 is fairly nice, so it does have some selling points, but with new models starting out just below $30,000 you could do a lot better than this old design that’s actually quite common with subprime dealerships. With that in mind, the car could portray, at least in some areas, that you had bad credit and had to go to a high-risk lender to get a car – especially if you’re driving a used model that’s a few years old.

Furthermore, if you want anything other than Chryslers trusty Pentastar V-6, you’ll have to find yourself a 300C, which does deliver more than 360 horsepower.

It also sounds cool when you jump on it, thanks to the fact that it’s a 5.7-liter HEMI, which will keep most women happy, but these cars also aren’t known for having that great of a ride or being all that dependable. JD Power even ranked the Chrysler brand as the worst among all automakers in terms of vehicle dependability. In the end, it might be okay for some women, but you could do so much better and avoid some nagging as well. Oh, and by the way, the Chrysler brand is really struggling, so if you do give the 300 a try, you may find that brand doesn’t exist in the very near future. To put it simply, the brand isn’t popular by any means, so nothing that wears a Chrysler badge really has the sex appeal and clout that women like.

7 Yay: Ram 1500

Via Ram

The Ram 1500 may not carry around as much clout as the Silverado or F-150, but any woman that likes trucks will love it. It’s not an aggressive truck by any means, and you’re probably better off going with a new model, but it’s still a good option. Farm girls will be more attracted to the Laramie Longhorn or Bighorn, while girls that about that off-road or rugged life will love you if you drive the Ram Rebel.

But, be warned, the Rebel isn’t four-wheel drive, so your capabilities are limited. Even if you’re more about driving a truck just to drive one, the Ram Limited will float the bill.

It won’t be quite as luxurious, but any woman that’s into trucks will certainly be attracted to you in this baby. Quad cab models offer enough room inside to haul around friends and/or family so it’s not something you’ll be pressured to get rid of should a little one be on the way. Since the Ram isn’t as aggressive as models like the Silverado and F-150, women will see you as someone who prefers functionality over appearance, and that can go a long way toward impressing the girl of your dreams.

6 Ew: GMC Terrain

via GMC

The GMC Terrain isn’t exactly a lady magnet either. It doesn’t look horrible on the outside, really, but it’s a typical GM entry-level model with a GMC badge. At a glance, it looks nice inside, but the seats are partially wrapped in leather with most of the seat being that cheapish plastic material. The same goes for the center console, dash, and door trim panels. I tell you all of this because it’s just not something that resonates well with women. It’s not fast at all with the entry-level model offering up just 170 horsepower. That doesn’t sound too bad until you realize it weighs nearly two ton. Women may not mind it if you drive a brand-new model, but if you are really considering a Terrain for some reason, you might as well spend the $40,000 plus and get the Denali trim. Then, if you’re lucky, they’ll appreciate the fact that you drive one. Otherwise, the standard model just doesn’t have the flare or any of the selling points women are really into.
