As of March of this year, the teen actor-turned-rapper Drake has a net worth of $100 million. It was a long road: in 2006, Drake left the popular Canadian TV series Degrassi: The Next Generation and started his career as a singer. In the 12 years that followed, he very quickly cemented his place in history as one of the world’s most successful hip-hop entertainers. He has won numerous awards, he has broken many records for the number of times his work has been viewed online, and he is easily one of the highest earners in his field.
Like other rappers that have achieved a similar level of wealth, Drake loves his cars. Over the years he has amassed a collection of luxury cars that the majority of people will most likely never be able to purchase. He takes his collection very seriously, and it continues to grow as his career evolves.
As many car enthusiasts already know, the type of car a person chooses to drive, and the condition they happen to keep it in, says a lot about them. For a person like Drake, it is a bold declaration of his success as the rapper can sometimes be seen in his hometown of Toronto cruising around in one of his many luxury cars. Several fans and onlookers attempted to take photos of his “STARTED” vanity license plate disappearing off in the distance.
Purchasing extravagant cars is the next logical step to a person with so much success. Even if you’re not a fan of his music, you have to admit Drake’s car collection is stunning. Let’s take a look at all of Drake’s gorgeous cars, and examine what the next additions to his collection might be based on his previous choices.
15 Bugatti Veyron Sang Noir - In His Collection
What do you do when you have millions of dollars to spare? If you’re Drake, the perfect solution to your problem is to buy a car that is worth over a million dollars. The Bugatti Veyron is a car that pulls no punches; literally, everything about it is grand. From its namesake (the model is named after Pierre Veyron, the legendary French racecar driver who won at Le Mans in 1939 with a Bugatti) to the mind blogging engineering. It is one of the boldest cars money can buy. The high-performance vehicle has earned several accolades and it has broken records including the Guinness World Record for the fastest car you’re legally allowed to drive on public roads. The Bugatti Veyron is so intense that it can literally reach a speed of just over 431km an hour with its 16 cylinders and 4 turbochargers. There is nothing subtle about this car.
The Veyron Sang Noir is so rare, Bugatti only produced 12 of them.
When you look at pictures of the Veyron, it makes sense that the production would be so exclusive: it looks like a real-life version of the Batmobile. This is the type of vehicle that begs to be limited to only a few lucky people. Even Drake himself may have given up the car: it is rumored that Drake apparently put this vehicle on sale in 2014, only four years after initially purchasing it.
14 Bentley Continental GTC V8 - In His Collection
The Bentley Continental is a classic British automobile that is worth over $200,000. It has been a staple of Bentley Motors’ production lineup since 2003. If you are a fan of Drake, you may recognize this car from the now famous “Started From the Bottom” music video. In the video, the rapper can be seen wearing a matching white outfit and walking alongside his car proudly as he proclaims the song’s motto, partly using the vehicle as proof of how far he’s made it.
The Bentley Continental GTC is another great car that had a limited production run, making the vehicle even rarer than other Bentley models. A remarkable feature about the Continental GT is that, for all its extravagance, it also has the ability to turn off half of its eight cylinders when they are not required by the driver. This makes the car excellent for saving fuel without the need to compromise by getting a less powerful vehicle. It’s also worth mentioning that Audi chipped in to work on the car’s engine: even though the car is known first and foremost as a vehicle by Bentley Motors, it benefits greatly by being the brainchild of another world-class company.
13 Bentley Mulsanne - In His Collection
This is the other Bentley that Drake has in his collection, not to be confused with the Continental GTC. They look similar, but there are some key differences. Even though they are both the same colour and they are both manufactured by Bentley Motors, the Mulsanne is a little less sporty as a four-door sedan. For the most part, the vehicles are the same; you really cannot go wrong with anything from Bentley.
The Mulsanne holds such a special place in the rapper’s heart, when the folks at Chrysler put out the Chrysler 300, Drake referenced their vehicle in his song “Keep the Family Close” with the lines, “Always saw you for what you could've been. Ever since you met me. Like when Chrysler made that one car that looked just like the Bentley." The lyrics aren’t necessarily a diss to Chrysler, but it is also clear that Drake is a man who appreciates luxury vehicles and does not want to settle for what can be perceived as the “fake” version of the Bentley. Even though Chrysler took the comment in good stride, several of Drake’s fans responded to the company on Twitter to echo their idol’s remark.
12 Brabus 850 6.0 Biturbo Coupe - In His Collection
This sporty coupe made by the same company that does great work for other revered luxury cars like Mercedes-Benz, Tesla, and Maybach, is worth around $160,000.
Brabus has also gone as far as making the bold claim that this car is the “fastest and most powerful all-wheel-drive coupe on the globe.”
The name Brabus may not have the same name brand recognition to the average person as something like Bentley or Bugatti. However, for those people that consider themselves as car enthusiasts, this offering from Brabus is a powerful car that deserves just as much respect as another well-built luxury vehicle. For starters, the Biturbo coupe can go from 0 to 60 mph in a matter of 3.5 seconds. That is on par with other sports cars, such as the LaFerrari, another car that Drake owns. Additionally, this coupe features the same engineering the company gives the Mercedes-Benz vehicles that they work on. As a result, the Brabus is an underrated beast of a sports car. Not only does it have the classiness of a vehicle like a Benz, it also performs as quickly as a Ferrari. With the Brabus Biturbo Coupe, it’s a rare case of actually getting the best of both worlds.
11 Lamborghini Aventador Roadster - In His Collection
Is any millionaire’s luxury car collection complete without something as outlandish as a Lamborghini? What is the point of being rich if you don’t buy a car that has obnoxiously flashy doors that go up? The Lamborghini Aventador Roadster is almost a car designed with the rich in mind as everything about it is excessive. Thanks to its brilliant Italian engineering, the high-performance vehicle can reach 100 km/h in a mere three seconds and can reach a top speed of 349 km/h which is almost dangerously fast.
This picture was taken from the music video for the YG song “Why You Always Hatin?” Drake can be seen making good use of the car’s open roof, standing as he lets a friend take over the wheel. As the car passes other vehicles on the road it’s clear that the Lamborghini is the main character on any road it drives on. There is something endlessly fascinating about watching a car this fast share the road with less powerful vehicles. When the car drives, we see pedestrians stop to stare at it. It’s definitely a jaw-dropping vehicle that costs just under $500,000.
10 Rolls-Royce Phantom - In His Collection
Pictured here is another epic vehicle in what may be Drake’s signature favourite white car colour. The Rolls-Royce Phantom has a price value of around $800,000. It is another car intended for extreme luxury. It's got 12 cylinders paired with an almost 7-litre engine. Chances are that if you have seen the rapper’s Instagram feed, you may be familiar with the car. Drake has posted several pictures of it over the years, and it appears to be the vehicle he is most proud of. What sets this apart from his other vehicles is the fact that it seems to be a lot more custom made than his others. The Rolls-Royce Drake has is white, and features the starlight ceiling interior that only the black edition has. Drake’s car has been customized and personalized specifically to his liking. It is very unlikely that you will see another car like this on the road (unless Drake happens to buy another one).
The Rolls-Royce Phantom is not just a timeless luxury vehicle, it is a favourite model of many who adore Rolls-Royce. If you happen to be buying a Rolls-Royce, the Phantom is arguably the best one you can get.
9 McLaren 675LT - In His Collection
The McLaren is obviously another one of those cars that demand to be shown off in public. Drake has shared photos of his 675LT on Instagram. After the massive success of his album “Views,” the rapper felt it was the perfect time to live it up a little by adding this perfect car to his collection.
The vehicle looks absolutely beautiful for a sports car. It looks sportier than other high performance vehicles in the same league.
It can go from 0 to 100km/h in only three seconds. The price tag for this impressive vehicle can go up to $400,000.
As a small side note, this supercar happens to be one of Tyler The Creator’s favourite cars as well. Like the exclusivity of the production of Drake’s Bugatti Veyron Sang Noir, the McLaren 675 is extra special because it was limited to only 500 in the whole world. It is another case in this car collection where you are really not likely to see this type of car everyday. Whenever it is seen in public with Drake, you cannot take your eyes off the McLaren. It's one of those types of cars that immediately grabs your attention.
8 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren - In His Collection
After having the amazing good fortune of being able to say he is the proud owner of a Bugatti, TWO Bentleys, a Brabus, a Lamborghini, a Rolls-Royce, and a McLaren....where does a guy like Drake go? The next step in his collection was the fantastic collaboration between two of the greatest car companies in the world: Mercedes-Benz and McLaren. The car is also a favourite of rapper Kanye West, who has also been spotted driving around in the sports car. The vehicle’s design was inspired by the famous Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR that made headlines in 1955 when it won the World Sportscar Championship prior to its unfortunate crash and burn.
This car's engineers have taken a classic vehicle and given it a new life with a modern twist. It clearly pays respect to the fast vehicle of the 1950s, but it is also unmistakably fresh. Not only does the design look a lot more sleek, but the build of the supercar is impresive. It is hand-built with an over 5-litre V8 engine. On the side panel of this car, you can see a design that gives the car the illusion that it’s constantly in motion. That is a perfectly appropriate decision by the designers: this car is an absolute force.
7 Mercedes-Maybach S 600 Pullman - In His Collection
Maybach, a name popularized in the hip-hop community by Rick Ross, is another sweet ride in Drake’s collection. The Maybach Pullman Drake has is one of the vehicles that is less sportier than some of his other vehicles, but not less cool by any means.
It is a stretch Maybach that serves the function of a limousine rather than a car that Drake would drive on his own.
He can be seen in various photos using this car for different events. Although the Pullman is a great piece of engineering worth driving, it is also the type of vehicle you get other people to chauffeur you around in. The Pullman costs around $600,000, but that is nothing to Drake.
The back of the vehicle is so luxurious you can almost picture someone partying with friends on the way somewhere. Part of the beauty of this vehicle is also the fact that it is impressively built like Drake’s other cars. It’s got a V12 engine and it is capable of going extremely fast. However, it is also a vehicle that doesn't make obnoxiously loud noises when it accelerates. It almost has the engineering of a sports car, but the elegance of a limousine.
6 Lamborghini Gallardo - In His Collection
There is almost nothing else that says you have made it in life more than a Lamborghini Gallardo. The name “Lamborghini” comes with a remarkably important reputation to live up to. Fortunately, the Gallardo is another great car that fits the Lamborghini lineup very well. It has the design and shape their sports cars are known for.
Although this car was only produced for a couple of years, and most people would probably suggest getting the newer Lamborghini Huracan instead of this one, the Gallardo is actually still an impressive vehicle for an older model in their lineup. Not only does the design still really hold up well, in terms of how fast it can go the car still performs better than the average vehicle made today. The “Gallardo” in the car’s name comes from a type of bull used for bullfights. It’s an apt description considering the fact that the Gallardo has 10 cylinders. That is lower than some of the cars Drake has been known to drive in the past, and also slightly higher than an average vehicle driven, making it a distinctive type of sports car.
5 LaFerrari (Ferrari F150) - In His Collection
This might be the most recent addition to Drake’s million dollar car collection; he was seen driving around in a yellow LaFerrari earlier this year. Everything about this car is cool. There have only been a few hundred of these cars made by Ferrari so far. It is not a car you are likely to see everyday, and if you finally do see it you will recognize it right away. It has the fantastic aerodynamic look Ferrari has perfected over the years. The LaFerrari is also equipped with a V12 6-litre engine.
The 12 cylinders really give the car a fantastic boost. It can go incredibly fast in a matter of seconds (0 to 100km/h in under 3 seconds). It might be one of the fastest sports cars that is available for consumers. Unfortunately, it is also a car that costs over $1 million.
The LaFerrari is a high performance vehicle that has actually earned comparisons to cars produced by McLaren. When you look at photos of it you can see why. It isn't a car you want to get in the way of. It has been purposely built to be driven incredibly fast.
4 Chevrolet Malibu LS - Older Car
Okay, this vehicle clearly does not fit in with the rest of Drake’s luxury car collection we have explored on this list so far. That is because it is not one of the rides Drake is famous for showing off. Instead, this Chevy Malibu is actually one of Drake’s first cars he ever owned. Before all the fame and success he acquired from the rap game, this car (valued at approximately $19,000) got him where he needed to go. Even though he enjoys showing off many pictures of his gorgeous car collection, the rapper also made a point of never forgetting his first love on Instagram. At one point he posted a photo of himself and a couple friends posing in front of the car with a caption that read, "First Car. First Crew. ATF."
Although the Chevrolet Malibu LS is clearly no luxury Mercedes-Benz, the vehicle definitely had its followers back in the day. It remains one of the most popular mid-size sedans on the market, and it is still in production after all these years. Drake may not be purchasing the 2018 Chevrolet Malibu LS anytime soon, but there is no shame in owning a car like this as it has proven to be incredibly reliable.
3 Acura TSX - Older Car
This is the other vehicle on this list that may strike you as another odd choice. But the Acura TSX is still worth a mention. It's the other car Drake not only owned at one point but has talked about openly. On the song “Worst Behaviour” from his best-selling 2013 album “Nothing Was the Same,” the rapper references his former ride with the lines, "This ain't the son you raised who used to take the Acura. 5 a.m. going to shoot Degrassi up on Morningside." In older videos with Drake he can be seen as a young man with the car in the background; it must have been a big deal for him to buy one of his first vehicles with money he earned as an actor. Years later, in the song he would use the car to represent his growth as a successful rap artist: the Acura was a vehicle he initially bought with his Degrassi salary, but times change, and so has Drake.
The Acura TSX was valued at roughly $27,000, and it would have been a decent car for a young person growing up. It was first released in the early 2000s, making it a somewhat popular car at the time. Drake would have been around his late teens when the Acura TSX hit the market.
2 Porsche 918 Spyder - Not In His Collection
The Porsche 918 Spyder is a ridiculously impressive sports car that is not in Drake’s collection but based on his previous car choices it seems like it would be a perfect fit. He seems to enjoy cars that are flashy and that can go incredibly fast. This vehicle is everything that someone who enjoys driving fast would want.
It has an engine with just under 5-liters, and eight cylinders. It can easily go from 0 to 100 km/h in a little under three seconds. Even the name of it is cool: the “918” means the number of cars that will be produced by Porsche in this model. There are literally only 918 Porsche 918 Spyders on the planet.
The Spyder is also another one of those coupes with a great look that is reminiscent of something Bruce Wayne would drive. When you look at this car, the Batmobile might enter your mind. It’s definitely the type of supercar a millionaire should own. Unfortunately, the car is so intense that within the last four years alone there have been at least three recalls. Porsche has had problems with some of the parts of the Spyder, including issues with the engine. The car was only on the market for two years and eventually went out of production in 2015, but it managed to make a lasting impression while it was around.
1 Audi R8 - Not in his collection
The 2018 Audi R8 Coupe is another car that isn't in Drake’s collection that he would really be able to appreciate. As previously mentioned on this list, Drake loves the Bentley Continental GTC V8, and Audi did some work on the engine of that vehicle. If Drake enjoys driving around in the Bentley, he would most likely enjoy the thrill of the Audi 2018 R8 Coupe. Audi has been perfecting their craft for years, and their new take on the sports car is the cumulation of all their hard work.
In this photo we can clearly see the type of car Audi is going for: it is supposed to be a driving experience for people who love driving. Audi has gone as far as describing the car by saying, “Sharing 50% of its parts with R8 GT3 LMS race car, this car is born on the track and built for the road.” The R8 Coupe can go from 0 to 100 km/h in just over three seconds. That alone is enough to bring the car to the same level of other luxury sports cars considered “better.” The car is valued at over $200,000, with optional packages costing as high as $6000.
