The cast of American Chopper sure has seen their fair share of ups and downs. But it was through those ups and downs on the roller coaster of life that the men that brought us one heck of a show also brought forth some impeccable machines, and we've got quite a few of them here for you all today, dear readers.

It was since the turn of the century that we were introduced to the Teutul family and it wasn't long before we were also introduced to their tempers that seemed to go along with the size of Senior's biceps (think BIG), but fall in love with them and their bikes we did.

And when they went their separate ways, they still equally produced epic bikes, both at Orange County Choppers and at Paul Jr. Designs; we've got samples from both companies in this article. Of course, there were a few misses along the way, and we even found one for you all, as well as a few reasons for the miss. So check them out and see if you agree.

15 Insane: World Of Warcraft Bike

via The Escapist

Warcraft was a game that came about in the early stages of the computer gaming generation. It was originally a strategy game that looks weak and bland compared to what came later - the largest and most popular online multiplayer game ever created. The game is still played by millions to this day, and the crew decided to honor it by building a bike inspired by one of the mounts in the game - the Warlord's Deathwheel.

14 Insane: Black Widow

via Wallpaper Cave

This is one of Paul Junior's older designs. Obviously, he was still working for his father back then and all that was involved in designing and making this bike was obviously aired out on the show for everybody to see. But blow-ups and tempers aside, the bike showed what Junior was able to do design-wise, and it was pretty spectacular, to say the least.

13 Insane: Comanche Bike

via Homestead

The Comanche bike, as its shown here, looks pretty impressive and it is. But perhaps the most impressive part of the Comanche bike story is what went down after the bike was done - or rather supposedly done.

Right around the time they were set to unveil it, there were issues with it, and the race against time to get it working was incredible yet stressful to watch. But mechanic Vinnie Di Martino came to the rescue on that one.

12 Insane: Dixie Chopper

via Wikimedia Commons

Many would say that the Dixie chopper, shown here, is rather bland. But such critics aren't taking into account just where the chopper comes from. The Dixie chopper shows off a style that was rather popular back in the day, rendering this piece of art an "old school" chopper indeed.

11 Insane: Anti-Venom Bike

via Flickr

Of course, we all know that Paul Junior went off to start his own bike shop, and really, after all that he and his father had been through, it was pretty much about time. Paul Junior had a vision, and that vision came through with his own company. The Anti-Venom bike shows that range we talked about; that ability for design and execution, and all in one bike.

10 Insane: Fire Bike

via Flickr

And talk about vision. This bike here has gone down historically as one of their best dedication bikes. It was dedicated to the many firehouses in New York, and they did a magnificent job.

When does fabricating machines become art? When thousands of people flock to see your work just to snap photos and post them on social media. Perhaps today, that's the answer to the posed question.

9 Insane: Spider Bike

via Drag Bike and Motorcycle Drag Racing

Yes, it's very reminiscent of the black widow. The webbing design was in fact quite similar, but hey ... when something works, why stop at just one. Besides, this bike is original enough to stand on its own, and we rather like it - hence its appearance on this here list.

8 Insane: Geico Bike

via Renegade Wheels

This is when the show got fun, for the fans watching at least. After the segregation of the father and son tandem, the producers of the show thought it would be fun to pit father against son, where the two companies would build a bike each but for the same client. The ultimate judge? The client, of course. And this time around, the victor turned out to be Junior.

7 Insane: World Trade Center Bike

via National September 11 Memorial & Museum

Like the aforementioned Fire Bike, these guys were famous (and still are) for giving back to the community they love so much. This one too was a dedication bike, quite obviously, and much to the same cause or rather the same moment in history as the fire bike. The innovation shown in this design is out of this world, and we commend them for it.

6 Insane: Newmont Chopper

via Pinterest

Another straight-forward chopper that borders on the old school designs, yet at the same time, there's something quite new-age about the whole machine. You'd think it to be a little too bland to make it on this list, but there's something quite special about this chopper. We hope you agree, dear readers.

5 Insane: Bebop Bike

via Pinterest

Who doesn't love the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? These guys are still going strong, even after such a long time. Pretty amazing for a comic that was first independently published, eh? Well, they keep making movies about them, and in the last offering, Bepop was played by WWE superstar Sheamus, and he needed some wheels.

4 Insane: I, Robot Bike

via Sportbikes.net

This one too goes way back. It was commissioned by the producers, or rather the Hollywood big wigs responsible for the Will Smith film, I, Robot (which was based on the Isaac Asimov novel of the same name). It was mad to be unleashed on the night of the premiere, so the paparazzi could take photos of it with the film star sitting atop of it. The night went off without a hitch, and the bike is now legendary.

3 Insane: Liberty Bike

via Flickr

This one goes back in the annals of time, close to the beginning of the show in fact, but that doesn't make it any less special. The liberty bike was actually fabricated with some of the original metal used to make the Statue of Liberty that sits proudly on the shores of New York. A great tribute and a great machine.

2 Insane: Cadillac Bike(s)

via autoevolution

Another bike against bike, but here, dear readers, we couldn't make a decision. At the end of the day, both of these men - both father and son - were, and are, quite good at what they do. So we decided to include both of the Cadillac bikes for you to feast your eyes on. They both have their merits, and they both belong on this list.

1 Hideous: Billy Joel Bike

via Motor Trend On Demand

Now it's not so much that the bike is terrible per se, because it really isn't. It's not the best bike they ever produced, but really, the fault is not their own. Billy Joel turned out to be one of their most insane clients. He micromanaged the making of this bike from day one, and that really stresses the guys out during production. They got so annoyed, they actually voiced their concerns on-air! If there's anything wrong with this bike, it's Joel's fault.
