LeBron James is one of the greatest basketball players of his generation, and his net worth has been reported as being approximately somewhere between $400 and $500 million. That makes James technically the sixth-highest paid athlete in the entire history of the NBA.

Like many athletes that have earned ridiculous sums of money for their skills, James likes to celebrate by spending his cash. Specifically, the athlete enjoys his fair share of various vehicles. James is a bit more careful with his automobile spending compared to athletes like Floyd Mayweather (who has well over 20 vehicles at this point and constantly buys new cars for himself before and after big events). While LeBron doesn't have an outlandish collection of cars like many other successful athletes, over the years, he's still managed to amass a decent collection of expensive vehicles. He doesn't seem to have a set preference, but in recent years, his collection has gotten better and cooler as his earnings have increased. As a result, James has some stunning luxury vehicles the average person would love to have. It's interesting to see how his collection has gotten increasingly luxurious as time has passed.

This list will take a look at some of the vehicles LeBron James has purchased over the years; they range from Jeeps to fancier European sports cars. Using that info as a guide, we’ll try to predict the next luxury or muscle cars James might buy in the future!

20 Porsche 911 Turbo S

Via autotrader.ca

This might be one of James’ favorite vehicles in his collection. Unlike the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, he actually seemed to enjoy driving this one quite often. The basketball player was photographed driving around in this car a lot when he first purchased it.

The Porsche 911 Turbo S is still considered a quality sports car. It was valued at approximately just under $200,000 when James purchased it, and today, it can be bought for around the same price.

The 911 Turbo S has maintained its popularity for years; it's a favorite among celebrities and athletes and continues to be built and bought.

19 Hummer H2

Via remingtonwheels.com

The Hummer H2 is another oddity in LeBron James’ vehicle collection when you consider the fact that he later moved on to high-performance sports cars. Much like the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited and Rubicon, James must've acquired this vehicle for his garage at an earlier stage in his car collecting. Despite the fact that the Hummer H2 doesn't have the same sporty look as some of his other cars, the H2 is a great vehicle. To put its reputation into perspective, it was discontinued in 2009, yet it still continues to be seen all over and driven by many.

18 Ferrari F430 Spider

Via http://JamesEdition.com

This purchase was made a full decade ago. It was bought and added to James’ collection around 2008, which would've been right around the time the athlete was having one of the best years and seasons of his career ever. Imagine being at the top of your game professionally and getting the chance to drive around a Ferrari F430 Spider.

It must've felt amazing driving this 4.3 L, V8 monster around in 2008; at the time, it was considered one of Ferrari’s best cars available.

It was unfortunately discontinued from being manufactured the year later, and the last one was built in 2009 after a short 5 years of production.

17 Ferrari 599

Via autogespot.com

Another high-performance sports car James had in his collection from the brilliant people at Ferrari was the 599. Like his other Ferrari, it's a bit special because it lasted for under 10 years of production. The 6-liter, V12 engine gives this car some real power. In addition, the vehicle unbelievably has a top speed of over 330 km/h. It's one of the athlete’s fastest cars in his collection.

The 599 is worth well over $209,000 if maintained in the right conditions. Despite being out of production for years now, it's still a loved sports car.

16 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon

Via https://www.laurentianchrysler.ca

One of the vehicles LeBron James had earlier in his career was the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. This is a bit of a surprising pick from James, considering it's known for being one of the best vehicles ever made for off-roading.

The Jeep Wrangler has been around since the late 1980s and has received all types of acclaim for its reliability and consistency.

At one point, it was actually named one of the jeeps with the highest resale value. The jeep continues to be a hit, and it's still being manufactured to this day.

15 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited

Via crestviewchrysler.ca

Another Jeep LeBron James has purchased in the past is the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. Much like the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, this was another very popular vehicle in its time. Even years after James purchased the vehicle, it was still worth quite a lot: the athlete actually put the jeep up for auction in 2014, and the starting bid was $50,000. What's particularly cool about the jeep is that James’ customizing remained intact: he added logos to the seats, and the colors of the interior of the vehicle were carefully chosen by James. However, the jeep didn't have much mileage on it; this suggests James wasn't a big fan of driving this one.

14 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG

Via autoformco.ca

The Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG was one of the athlete’s luxury vehicles he purchased a few years ago.

After driving jeeps and cool cars all his life, the Mercedes-Benz was a switch to a car with real class.

This particular vehicle is actually one of the rarer offerings from the renowned German company: they actually built a few of these cars as a collector’s edition with a V12 engine, making it capable of driving at really fast speeds. Even the standard version of this car is powerful, with a V8 engine that allows it to reach a top speed of 250 km/h very quickly.

13 Dodge Challenger SRT

via pinterest

The Dodge Challenger is a U.S. classic. When we talk about well-loved muscle cars, the Challenger and the Ford Mustang are the two cars that arguably mean the most to people. The Dodge Challenger SRT LeBron James owned was seen a lot more in the earlier days of his career, from 2009 to 2012. At the time, the approximate retail value of the cool silver and blue Challenger James owned must've been around $45,000. In the almost decade since James bought this Challenger, the manufacturers at Dodge have continued to work on the Challenger, and it keeps getting better.

12 Maybach 57S

Via http://Roadfly.com

This Maybach 57S is a German masterpiece of engineering and has even been compared to vehicles produced by Mercedes-Benz and BMW. It, unfortunately, didn't do very well commercially in its final days, and it had to be cut short abruptly after a full decade of production. In that time, over three thousand units were made, and it became a popular luxury car. James had a vanity license plate placed on his first Maybach 57S reading, “KNG OF OH.” This vehicle is no joke; at the time, it must've cost the athlete around $400,000.

11 Chevrolet Camaro SS

Via http://thestudentdriver.blogspot.com

The Chevrolet Camaro SS James was seen driving around a lot in his 2010 days is definitely one of the coolest cars in his collection. Like some of his other vehicles, it also has the same matte-white paint job. However, with the Camaro, there's just something truly striking about seeing a white sports car.

This vehicle really stands out as a solid car with attitude.

Of course, because James was enjoying his money, the car is also customized. It has great rims to go with the sweet paint job, and even for a Camaro, it looks pretty unique.

10 Lamborghini Aventador

Via http://JamesEdition.com

A rich person’s car collection could never be complete without a mention of at least one sports car built by the wonderful people at Lamborghini. Specifically, for many rich athletes and celebrities, the Lamborghini Aventador is their European sports car of choice. It’s just got everything you could think of in a sports car: it’s stylish, and it's capable of driving at very fast speeds. Unlike some of James’ other vehicles in his garage, the Aventador he has doesn't have an all-white exterior. However, it's just as costly as his others (if not more); the Aventador is worth well over $3 million.

9 1975 Chevrolet Impala

Via lowrider.com

Another car that clearly doesn't really fit the pattern James would choose for his car collection is the 1975 Chevrolet Impala he bought. This is a classic vehicle that's loved by many car collectors, especially people who love low-rider vehicles.

Originally, LeBron’s Impala could've been purchased for a few thousand dollars. Today, partly because of its reputation with car enthusiasts everywhere, the Chevrolet Impala can actually be worth well over $40,000.

The car is a staple in places like Florida, where James was seen many times cruising around in his purple Impala.

8 Rolls-Royce Phantom

Via petroleumvitae.com

You might immediately notice that this luxury vehicle is a little different for LeBron James’ car collection. The first and most obvious reason: it's clearly one of the most expensive, well-respected vehicles in the athlete’s collection. However, it's also special for another reason: James actually didn't purchase this vehicle for himself, it was a birthday gift from his friend Shaq when James turned 25. The Rolls-Royce Phantom is a car valued at approximately over $340,000. As far as luxury cars go, the Rolls-Royce Phantom is one of the best choices you could possibly make.

7 Range Rover HSE

Via http://memoriasdelatrato.org/

The Range Rover HSE LeBron James owned around 2010 is another vehicle that's a bit of an oddity in the basketball player’s collection when you consider how he moved from heavier-looking vehicles to sports cars. At the time of his purchase, the vehicle would've been valued at around over $88,000.

The Range Rover is already a fantastic SUV, but what truly makes this full-sized vehicle shine is the fact that BMW had a big part in engineering the vehicle. As a result, this particular Range Rover was a big hit for Land Rover.

6 Bentley Continental GT

Via autogespot.com

If there’s any sign that LeBron James’ car collection goes hand in hand with his success as his career has progressed over the years, it’s this Bentley Continental GT. The name Bentley is one of those car manufacturers that most people recognize as being a top-tier company.

This car has been a huge success for Bentley, and it continues to be built; the most recent iteration of this vehicle is a beautiful coupe with 12 cylinders, and it has a retail value of around $300,000.

5 Dodge SRT Demon 2018 (Not In His Collection)

Via http://AutoGuide.com

Although LeBron James would go on to make the switch from heavy-duty vehicles, like the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon and the Range Rover HSE, to luxurious sports cars, the Dodge Challenger seems one of the few types of cars he would definitely go back to. For one, Dodge has never stopped working on this thing: James would love what the company has done with the classic muscle car in comparison to the Challenger he was seen driving around in 2009. There’s no contest: a Dodge Hellcat or SRT Demon would be an incredibly impressive update compared to his old Mopar.

4 Rolls-Royce Phantom Limo (Not In His Collection)

via pinterest

Due to the fact that LeBron James already has a Rolls-Royce Phantom in his collection, and he's driven and owned many cool cars in his short life so far, what could he possibly do to top owning a Phantom? The only logical next step for a car collector that has done so much: get someone else to drive you around! The Rolls-Royce Phantom limo would be a great option for someone that's already familiar with the luxury British automobile brand and wants the experience of having a chauffeur. It's one of the smoothest options out there on the market for a personal limousine.

3 Lamborghini Huracan (Not In His Collection)

Via imgur.com

As we've already explored, another car James has owned in the past was the Lamborghini Aventador. Lamborghini is, of course, a highly sought-after brand among rich car enthusiasts. Entertainers like Eminem, for example, are big Lamborghini fans. So, it only makes sense a car guy like James would want to acquire another cool European sports car for his collection. The Huracan would be another reasonable choice: with a 5.2-liter V10 engine, it has all the speed necessary for a cool sports car on par with one of the greatest athletes of this generation. The Lambo Huracan and LeBron James would make a perfect match!

2 Tesla Roadster 2020 (Not In His Collection)

Via en.wikipedia.org

The geniuses at Tesla are always busy engineering what they proudly believe will be the best modern cars on the market.

The Tesla Roadster will only be available in the year 2020, so James obviously doesn't have this in his collection yet.

However, this vehicle is being mentioned on this list because if James were to purchase a new car, the Roadster would be right up his alley. It'll apparently be capable of reaching 97 km/h in just under 2 seconds, making it faster than any car legally allowed to be driven. James is unique in his field, and this car is appropriately record-breaking; they'd match very well.

1 Bugatti Chiron (Not In His Collection)

Via imgur.com/

Bugatti is another car manufacturer you tend to hear a lot when people are discussing celebrities and their insane car collections. Despite being one of the most successful and well-paid basketball players of his time, LeBron James hasn't yet dropped the almost nearly $3 million it costs to acquire a Bugatti Chiron. However, it would be totally worth it: this thing is a supercar in every sense of the phrase. It has a 16-cylinder engine, and it uses four turbochargers; the Chiron is capable of doing much more than necessary, but that makes it even cooler.
