Widebody conversions have become a sweet plague that has infected almost every car that was ever customized. Widebody cars, as the name implies, are usually larger than the factory models and this is because their fender flares and tail-ends have been widened. Widebody conversions have gained more popularity today because modern cars are now able to generate more horsepower than before, and a wider body helps increase the car’s handling.

The widebody craze drew inspiration from race cars, like NASCAR’s stock cars, and their uniquely widened shape that allows the car to effectively handle its large wheels and tires on the race track. Today, most drivers would happily do a widebody conversion on their cars because they love the look and feel of driving something feisty and large with lots of horsepower. So we’ve collected a few of these cars where their drivers did a great job transforming their cars into brilliant widebodies in a way that captured the full essence of the transformation.
