Throughout the history of automobiles, there have been several cars that have gained iconic status by virtue of their performance, reliability, features, or rarity. These cars, in turn, become highly sought after and their value proportionately gets higher.

4 Lotus Elan S2
Overshadowed by its successors the Elise and Evora, the Lotus Elan has become the forgotten sportscar of Lotus. Not as aggressive-looking as it's contemporary the Esprit, the Elan nevertheless showcased the engineering ability of Lotus that resulted in one of the best handling FWD cars of its period.

Capable of a 0-60 time of 7.3 seconds and a top speed of 154Mph, the SVX was a performance capable car from Subaru that unfortunately had weirdly designed windows. Appearance aside though, the SVX is a great example of well-made Subaru's.
