Stancing is a car modification style that involves the use of extremely low suspension, – which makes the car as close to the floor as possible – extra-large wheels featuring large rims and extremely negative camber. Stance enthusiasts took inspiration from Formula 1 and drift car engineers who were first to adopt these mods styles – though sparingly – which resulted in better handling of their cars.

These mod styles, however, have brought about worldwide a stancing culture with the aim of building the most unique cars. This quest for inimitably stanced cars and car showcase events such as Stancenation and SEMA have brought about some of the weirdest non-functional modified cars the world has ever seen.

Stanced car enthusiasts love their cars, no doubt, but the absurdness of some of these mods will forever remain baffling to a regular functional car proponent. Scouring the world, we found some of these stanced cars that are however ludicrous.

15 Stanced Beetle, Really?

via Thrillist

Why stance a Volkswagen Beetle? The sight of this car looks torturous, and if the poor car could speak, it’ll probably drop a grunt. One of the aims of stancing is to add aesthetic pleasure and this doesn’t have it. The owner of this car might at least score some points for its uniqueness but overall, it’s a fail.

14 Junkyard Worthy

via Stancenation

This car looks junkyard worthy. A paint job has to be first on its list of makeovers, followed by unblocking the windows and wind-shields for adequate visibility. The extremity of the negative camber also seems overzealous and non-practical for efficient driving. This rusty car is going to win a lot of hearts at the Stancenation, but it's far from being a perfectly stanced car.

13 Chimney On Wheels?

via virginia5

A few more of these cars on the street and earth will soon lose its Ozone layer. Firstly, this car is outrageously stanced, yet it emits so much toxic substance into the atmosphere it should be a crime for its engine to be ignited. One pertinent question is; what kind of engine is powering this Miata?

12 Extra Wheels

via Picuki

Driving this car must be a real hard work. The BMW’s got so many spare wheels you can trust it frequently requires a spare. To make this worse, the spare tires have no space to be fixed in the car as their size and number exceeds the size of space allocated for this purpose in a car. Creating a space for spares on the car is an eyesore.

11 Collective Suffering

via Pinterest

Cars are built so people can move from one point to the other without losing too much sweat. In this picture, the reverse is the case as these guys have probably lost all the sweat they could secrete. This car has a suspension so low it couldn’t even climb a tiny speed bump.

10 Fire Hazard

Although this isn't one of the fastest Ferraris around, it's still a Ferrari - a dangerously modified one. This Ferrari is so low, its floor touches the bare ground. A trip to refill at the gas station could lead to a serious fire outbreak due to the potential fire that could be started by the effect of friction from the car floor scratching the ground.

9 Above The Rim

via Redbull

This VW features a camber on a whole new negative level. Racing and drifting cars from which negative camber idea was adopted apply it only to some 0.5° - 1° for the most effective result. However, this VW is cambered at around 45° - excessive!

8 Plastic Hood

via DrivingLine

This car has got so many plastic features on its exterior you’d confuse it for a toy car. As if that wasn’t bad enough, it features a ludicrous negative camber and extremely lowered suspension. This car without all these mods would have been a cool option for a quiet ride downtown. Not a great color choice as well.

7 Stanced Celica

via Stanceworks

This Celica looks so intact, suggesting that it was either towed or probably assembled at this point. That isn’t a far-fetched suggestion as the car looks unrealistically intact for a car that was driven to that spot. A little spin in this car will end up messing up the front bumper and so many other accessories on the car due to its lowered suspension.

6 Mad Max Edition

via YouTube

This stanced car looks like it was built to feature in one of the Mad Max blockbusters. The car’s suspension isn’t ridiculously low and it could have gotten away with having incredibly large tires and moderate negative camber – but it didn’t. This car has its rear windshield and rear bumper removed and got some massive metal fixed to its rear. Ludicrous!

5 Stuck At Home

via Thrillist

People use SUVs and trucks when going off-road so as not to get stuck. But how do you get stuck on the pavement right there in front of your own house? That’s exactly what happened to this ridiculously stanced car when its owner tried driving it to his garage. It's hard out there nowadays and one could end up needing to solve a plethora of problems daily, but driving peacefully into your garage shouldn’t be one.

4 Still A Family Car?

via StanceNation

A Japanese compact family car, but no family will want to go out in this anymore. Everything seems right with the car at first glance; cool color choice, nice bodywork, compact and cute, and can comfortably seat four or even five. It’s a cool car option for any family that wants to own a nice ride on a budget. But then you see the wheels with some massive negative camber and then forced to have a rethink.

3 Stanced BMW

via Reddit

BMW started its car manufacturing adventure about 104 years ago. In that duration, they made so many great cars and built a plethora of dream automobiles for many. However, they never thought they’d see one of their products go through this much distress all for the sake of stancing.

2 Drag Racing?

via Stancenation

The low suspension of this Mitsubishi might give a faux sense of its ability, thereby thinking its a fast drag racing car, but it isn't. This car can’t even do 50 meters at top speed without falling apart. The degrading effect of these mods on cars will forever make stancing a puzzling adventure.

1 Street Sweeper

via Reddit

It doesn’t get more ridiculous than this. You get into your car to do a little drive around town in your compact colorful car but by the time you got back to your house, all the dirt and debris you sighted on your little journey went home with you. That’s one of the pecs of having this ridiculous mod.
