Jerry Seinfeld is a popular American comedian, actor, writer, producer, and director. His net worth was recently estimated at $950 million, making him the wealthiest comedian in the world by some distance.

One can safely assume that kind of wealth goes hand-in-hand with some pretty unique hobbies. For Jerry, it’s always been collecting cars, with a famous penchant for one brand in particular - Porsche. At one point, he owned almost 50 different Porsche models.

In 2016, Seinfeld decided to part with some of his Porsches, so that "other collectors can enjoy them." 18 models went under the auction’s hammer and 17 were eventually sold for a collective sum in excess of $22 million.

He still has a lot of Porsches in his mostly Manhattan-based collection and more are on the way. With a taste like that and an abundance of resources to indulge, we can only imagine what his collection will look like in the future. But, this is what his incredible Porsche dream collection looks like today.

Porsche manufactured 2 prototypes during the testing phases of the now-infamous Carrera GT. When it comes to the exterior, only a trained eye will spot the difference between this and the production model. Interestingly, Jerry tried to offload the car at an auction in 2016, but there were no takers. This becomes less surprising considering the fact that the Carrera GT prototype is not road-legal.

This mid-engine plug-in hybrid hypercar was launched in 2013 and signaled the beginning of a new era of hypercars. It's powered by a combination of a naturally-aspirated V8 engine and two electric motors that boosted the power output to a staggering 860 brake horsepower. One can only imagine the symphony Jerry enjoys from the exhaust pipes mounted just behind his head.

13 1983 Porsche 959

Here’s another car in Jerry's collection that he can’t drive (at least not in the United States). The Government refused to allow the cars on the roads because the German automaker was unable to submit 4 examples of the car, as required, to the United States for emissions and safety tests. The reason was simple: all the planned 200 units of the 959 were sold before they rolled off the production line.

According to Jerry, "this little car is the essence of sports-car perfection." The nimble 356 A Speedster was actually on the low end of the price spectrum when it was made back in 1958, but today, the car is worth six figures. An example was sold at an auction in 2016 for a princely sum of $682,000.

11 2012 Porsche 997 GT3 4.0 Cup “Brumos Commemorative Edition”

Brumos and Porsche have enjoyed a lasting relationship dating back to the 1950s when Brumos was one of the first dealers to buy Porsches from Porsche of America. Only 5 units of these special edition cars were made to commemorate the success Brumos enjoyed as a road-racing team. One can only wonder how much it must have cost Jerry to snag one.

10 1990 Porsche 962C

A pure racing thoroughbred from the Porsche stables, this car boasts 750 bhp, all coming from a flat head six-cylinder engine. That humongous rear wing reminds us of a certain modern electric car (think Volkswagen IDR). It greatly improves handling and makes for more efficient racing. Jerry purchased this car directly from a racing team and it’s not hard to see why.

9 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RS

The car cemented its status as one of the most successful Carrera models in international rallying after winning several races in Great Britain and Ireland. Two options of the car were offered: Touring and Sport lightweight. The 911 Carrera RS easily commands a value in excess of $1 million today at auctions.

Seinfeld's 1949 356 is the 40th unit that rolled off the production line at Porsche's factory in Gmünd, Austria (hence the car's nickname). The car’s rounded external bodywork was hammered into shape by hand. Incredibly enough, Seinfeld claims that the car still retains all its original body parts!

This is another limited-edition Porsche collectible in the Seinfeld collection, with less than 100 units produced from 1953 to 1956. Chassis 550-03 was a proper race car and had significant dings and scratches by the time it was purchased by Jerry. He has however invested huge sums to restore this car to its former glory.

6 1964 Porsche 911

The 1964 911 model was one of the earliest made by Porsche. The one in the Seinfeld collection was said to have belonged to Ferry Porsche, son of the illustrious automaker. The avid car collector found the car by chance in Germany and sent it back to the factory where it underwent a $250,000 restoration work.

Wondering why you've never seen one? That's probably because only 104 have ever been made. And we are sure Jerry was ecstatic to have snagged one of these 180-bhp beauties for his own collection.

Jerry loves his classic Porsches and he does have an eye for some of the finest examples out there. In 2018, he bought the ultra-exclusive 1-of-31 1970 911 Turbo RSR. The air-cooled and turbocharged car represented a transition period for Porsche between the naturally-aspirated 911 RSR and the 934.

In 1976, Porsche introduced the 935 as the factory racing version of the 911 Turbo. The car was powered by a 3.3L twin-turbocharged flat-six engine that produced an impressive 833 bhp. The car was a huge success on the track with its different variations winning 123 of the 370 races it participated in.

Interestingly, this was the first Porsche that featured on Jerry’s TV show back in 2012. The car was powered by a 2.2L flat-six engine that delivered a potent 180 bhp. To avoid over-steering, which tended to plague some of the earlier models, the 1970 911 S featured an extended wheelbase. This helped to improve balance and overall handling of the nimble Porsche.

The 2018 911 GT3 RS is widely acknowledged as one of the best road-legal track cars in the market today. However, what makes this one special is the paint job Jerry opted for. The nine-layer liquid-metal chrome blue hue costs an extra $64,000! That's enough to buy a new Porsche 718 Cayman. Now, that’s how you stand out!
