The Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Roadster is an exotic, intimidating sports car that was first unveiled by the Italian automakers at the Geneva Motor Show nine years ago. At the time, it was produced to become the successor to the popular Murcielago, and in 2020, Lambo has unveiled the Aventador SVJ Roadster.

In nine years, many things have changed, especially in the automobile industry, but our goal today isn't to compare the vehicles but rather to take a look at the SVJ and discover some cool facts about it. As you will see on this list, the 2020 Aventador SVJ will probably be the last Lamborghini without a hybrid motor, which will probably make it go down in history.

There is no doubt that this is an incredible car, but it doesn't mean that everything about it is great! Let's take a closer look at everything you need to know about the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Roadster.

It would be an understatement to simply say that car this car fast. According to Lamborghini, it is only 110 pounds heavier than the closed-roof model, and with its 48-valve V12 engine, it practically flies as it goes from 0 to 62 miles per hour in only 2.9 seconds, on to a top speed of 217 mph.

As mentioned, it comes equipped with a 6.5-liter V12 engine fitted mid-ship and able to produce a whopping 759 horsepower. It is a true Lamborghini engine, and not one assembled in an Audi plant before being sent to Italy. In addition, it has no turbochargers or superchargers, but it's powerful, to say the least.

The SVJ Roadster is certainly a beautiful car, and it owes its striking looks to Lambo's quest for more aerodynamic performance. It comes with an all-new "floating" front splitter and a huge rear wing that generates 40 percent more downforce on each axle compared to the Aventador SV.

When most people want to buy a new car, the Lamborghini dealership is definitely not the first place they have in mind. Of course, this is because of the astronomical prices associated with these supercars. Well, how much does this one cost? A brand new SVJ Roadster will set you back $573,966.

Apparently, the new Aventador SVJ Roadster has the greatest suspension system by Lamborghini ever, as its "anti-roll stiffness” was improved by fifty percent. Due to the crazy speeds the car can reach, a good suspension system is crucial, and this Aventador is better on corners than any of its predecessors.

Two years ago, the Aventador broke the record as the fastest production car to ever complete a lap at the Nurburgring Nordschleife. In comparison, the Porsche 911 GT2 RS took 3 seconds longer to finish. The Huracan Performante used to be the record-holder, but it actually took seven seconds longer to get around "The Green Hell."

9 Handling Tweaks

The handling on the SVJ Roadster is much improved thanks to tweaks meant to increase mechanical grip. In addition, its suspension is much more rigid than in the past, with its entire system calibrated for the track. Also, for a more direct driving experience, the steering rack has also been played around with.

8 Limited Production

In total, Lamborghini will produce 800 SVJs, with production likely to finish in 2021. This car is very likely to become a legend, as it is the last V12 Lamborghini not to have an electric motor. Unfortunately, its price tag means it will only be accessible to very few people.

7 The Interior

The SVJ Roadster looks like a futuristic supercar, from the exterior all the way to the interior. The standard Aventador already comes with a spartan interior, and its door handles were improved even further by adding some good old carbon-fiber to the whole look. Also, from the inside, the door handles are made from pull-straps.

The 2021 Avendator is set to be a plug-in hybrid, but even before that, the Italian automakers will release the Sian, a beast with a V12 engine and electric motor mounted inside the transmission. To store energy, it will use a supercapacitor rather than a conventional battery, and all 63 set to be produced are already reserved.

5 Four Drive Modes

The SVJ has three different drive modes: Strada, Sport, and Corsa. The Strada ride quality isn't bad, with good handling most times, but changing it to Sport noticeably improves the whole experience. The Corsa, on the other hand, should be saved for when you're at the track, and with the Ego Mode, you can customize every setting.

4 The Transmission Is Terrible

Unfortunately, the transmission on the SVJ is terrible. If you're in traffic on Strada mode, it feels like every shift comes with a pause while the transmission makes up its mind on whether it wants to change gears or if you have to beg for it. In Sport and Corsa mode, it’s quicker to change gears, but the experience is less smooth.

3 Carbon-Fiber Top

The carbon-fiber top is absolutely gorgeous, but it's not advised to remove it as it's a pain in the neck to get on and off. When you press the button on the center console, the SVJ pauses for a while, then after a little hum at the start, it screams so loud that it seems like it’s crying out for attention.

2 Telemetry

For anybody who likes to push their Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Roadster to its very limits, but never had the opportunity to measure their results, those times are long gone as the Italian automakers have introduced a telemetry system that keeps track of info like your lap time, braking percentages, and g-sensor readings.

If you want to make your Avendator SVJ Roadster more practical, you may want to opt for the travel package. This adds a cup holder, so now you can have your coffee while you're speeding down the highway. And on the passenger side, there is a small net in the front luggage compartment.
