It’s undeniable that the superheroes we watch on the big screen and read about in comic books drive some very cool cars. However, it’s not just the Batmobiles, Spider-Buggies, and Fantasticars that capture our imaginations. The real-life cars that superheroes drive can be just as hot and appealing. If you were Batman, you'd probably prefer to drive around in the Tumbler than a Lamborghini, but the Lambo would still be incredibly fun to drive.

Some superheroes fly, some swing from webs, and some run super fast, but the ones with no superpowers have to drive around in cars. If a superhero doesn’t have superpowers, there’s a very good chance he or she has a huge stack of cash, and whenever someone has a huge pile of money, a massive car collection is right around the corner. That’s why billionaires like Tony Stark and Bruce Wayne drive around in the hottest supercars. Trillionaires like T’Challa, aka the Black Panther, get to drive around in even fancier supercars. Here’s a look at 19 real-life cars driven by our favorite superheroes.

20 Ford Flathead Roadster hot rod: Iron Man

via marvel.com

Tony Stark loves more than just classic cars and supercars. He’s a real gearhead, too. He’d have to be to fix up his own hot rod. The flame paint job on his Ford Flathead Roadster hot rod was even the inspiration for Tony deciding to brighten up the Iron Man armor. Before the Iron Man armor had gotten its iconic red and gold paint scheme, it was simply plain old gray. Tony gave his armor a bit of flair by putting on a coat of hot-rod red. The real-life owner of the Ford Flathead roadster that appeared in Iron Man is none other than the film’s director: Jon Favreau.

19 1967 Shelby Cobra: Iron Man

via http://elementproduction.net/

Here’s another iconic auto that Tony Stark has in his own personal collection.

The 1967 Shelby Cobra featured in Iron Man had an iconic blue paint job with white racing stripes. Racing number 98 adorned the car. Tony Stark enjoyed taking this classic beauty out for a spin, but it was destroyed when he crashed into it wearing the Iron Man armor.

He simply hadn’t mastered the controls of the MK1 Iron Man suit yet. After landing on the roof of his mansion, he fell down into the garage and destroyed the classic car. The model featured in Iron Man was actually a factory five replica. Destroying an actual Shelby Cobra would've been blasphemy.

18 Chevy Corvette Stingray: Black Widow

via autoblog.com

There’s something truly special about a U.S. supercar like the Chevy Corvette Stingray, and when Scarlett Johansson is behind the wheel, it’s even better. This sleek and stylish Corvette appeared in Captain America: The Winter Soldier as the daily driver of none other than Black Widow. Before appearing in the film, the Corvette made its debut at the 2014 Chicago Auto Show. The blacked-out Corvette is a perfect fit for everyone’s favorite superheroine and Russian spy. This Corvette is as tough and menacing as Black Widow herself. You certainly feel patriotic watching the Vette pull up in front of the Capitol Building in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, even if you’re not from the U.S.

17 Chrysler Imperial: Green Hornet

via pintrest

The Black Beauty is the Green Hornet’s crime-fighting ride of choice. The Black Beauty is quite unlike the Batmobile because the Batmobile isn't a car you'd see an average Joe drive down the street. The Black Beauty, on the other hand, is a classic Chrysler Imperial. It’s fairly inconspicuous on the outside, but on the inside, it’s truly a superheroic car. Anyone could own a Chrysler Imperial, but a civilian’s Chrysler imperial wouldn’t be decked out with machine guns, tire spikes, missiles, smoke grenades, and other kinds of crime-fighting tech. Only the Green Hornet’s Black Beauty has features like that.

16 Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision GT: Batman

via pintrest

The Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision GT appeared in the Warner Bros. film Justice League, and Mercedes designed the car specifically for that film. It might just be the best thing—and maybe the only good thing—about the Justice League movie. The Mercedes BGT belongs in Bruce Wayne’s garage. It looks absolutely spectacular, and it’s one of the few cars that can actually make gull-wing doors cool. The car is extremely cool and futuristic. The car was extended so Ben Affleck could fit his muscular 6 foot 4 frame into this concept. There are plenty of cool features in this car, including a lighted steering wheel and a retractable rear spoiler.

15 Lexus LS 500 F Sport: Black Panther

via autoevolution.com

The King of Wakanda gets to ride around in some pretty sweet rides. The Talon jet he travels the globe in is super high-tech and futuristic, but he also gets to cruise around in some cool cars when he's not fighting crime. The Lexus LS 500 F Sport was showcased in the Long Live the King short film that debuted during the 2018 Super Bowl. This stylish luxury sedan is strong, powerful, sporty, and filled with high-tech features, so it’s the perfect ride for Black Panther. The Lexus LS500 F Sport has a stunning Omotenashi interior and a 3.5L V6 engine capable of putting out 416 hp.

14 Audi R8: Iron Man

via ironman.wikia.com

Tony Stark, aka Iron Man, has perhaps the most impressive car collection of any superhero out there.

The billionaire genius loves to spend money on classic cars and luxury supercars. One such luxurious sports car that Stark drives in is the mid-engine, two-seater Audi R8.

Tony Stark sped through the streets with the Audi R8 in the 2008 Marvel Cinematic Universe film Iron Man. This flashy sports car is the perfect fit for Iron Man thanks to the direct-injection V8 that's capable of 420 hp. It’s a powerful machine that glides through the city as elegantly and impressively as the Iron Man suit.

13 Lamborghini Murcielago: Batman

via youtube

It may not be the Batmobile, but the Lamborghini Murcielago might be nearly as iconic. It might even be as powerful and fast as the Batmobile, too. The Murcielago was the flagship car for Lamborghini for nearly a decade, thanks to its speed and power. Bruce Wayne drove a Murcielago LP640 in the 2008 film The Dark Knight, but unfortunately, the car got totaled when Bruce crashed it on purpose to protect one of the Joker’s targets. His heroic deed resulted in the 640 hp Italian supercar being completely wrecked. The LP640 looks stunning and sounds beautiful, too, thanks to that impressive exhaust.

12 Acura NSX Roadster convertible: Iron Man

via youtube

Who said Iron Man has to only drive Audis? Tony Stark drove this cool convertible in the Avengers after defeating Loki during the battle of New York. The NSX roadster is still a concept car and has yet to be released in our world, but in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Stark has one of these beauties in his collection. For the film, Honda designers used a 1991 NSX and styled it to look like an NSX Roadster. The paint matches Iron Man’s suit, and the body of the car was reshaped. However, the interiors stayed pretty much the same as the 91 NSX. The console still even has a cassette player!

11 Audi R8 Spyder: Iron man

via caranddriver.com

Tony Stark’s Audi R8 Spyder first appeared in the 2011 MCU film Iron Man 2, and it replaced the regular Audi R8 that appeared in the first Iron Man film. When you take a look at the Audi R8 Spyder, the Audi R8 seems simply quaint by comparison. After all, convertibles are always cooler. This R8 Spyder is almost as powerful as the Hulk, thanks to the impressive V10 engine that's capable of putting out over a staggering 600 hp. The Audi space-frame technology in the R8 Spyder makes it a sleek sports car — or “everyday supercar” as Audi likes to call it.

10 Audi R8 e-tron: Iron Man

via lacarguy.com

For Iron Man 3, Tony Stark got yet another brand-new Audi R8. This time, it was the electric Audi R8 e-tron in Iron Man red. The e-tron could be called the king of torque. The amount of torque the e-tron puts out means that it can accelerate unlike any Audi before it. The e-tron has 3,614 lb-ft of torque thanks to four electric motors – one on each wheel. Each motor produces around 900 lb-ft of torque and around 80 bhp. Tony Stark is a technological genius, and he’s always inventing new and exciting Iron Man armors. So, it’s no surprise he would drive an innovative electric sports car like the Audi R8 e-tron.

9 Triumph Spitfire: Ant-man

via cinemavehicles.com

Hank Pym, aka ant-man number one, owns this beautiful British automotive classic. It’s a car that screams class, so it’s the perfect fit for the rough but refined billionaire Hank Pym. The 1977 Spitfire 1500 convertible that appeared in Ant-man has a refined and sophisticated look.

It’s a quintessential British auto with a bit of additional U.S. power thrown in for good measure. The Spitfire 1500 had a 1,500 cc, four-cylinder engine in the U.S., hence the name.

Hank Pym’s Spitfire is sleek silver with an oxblood leather interior. This is a great car to be sure, but wouldn’t it be more appropriate for Ant-man to drive an Austin Healy “bug-eye” Sprite?

8 Rolls-Royce Phantom: Iron Man

via paultan.org

A billionaire not owning a Rolls-Royce just seems weird, so of course, Tony Stark has a Rolls in his collection. However, not just any Rolls-Royce will do. Stark needs to have the cream of the crop when it comes to luxury saloon cars. The Phantom is exactly the car Stark needs, but it’s not likely he’ll drive it himself. Rather, Happy Hogan would drive the Rolls, and Stark would simply chill out in the back and go along for the ride. The Phantom has a heroic turn in Iron Man 2 when Happy drives out on to the Monaco Grand Prix track to save Iron Man from a threatening beatdown by Whiplash.

7 Saleen S7: Iron Man

via pintrest

The Saleen S7 is another fantastic supercar in Tony Stark’s collection. The S7 first appeared in Iron Man. The bright-orange paint job of Tony Stark’s Saleen S7 really makes it pop and stand out. This car was lucky to survive undamaged because it was parked right beside Stark’s 1967 Shelby Cobra when he crashed into his garage wearing his Iron Man armor. This car is so speedy and aerodynamic that it could give any one of Iron Man’s armors a run for its money. The 2005 Saleen S7 twin-turbo that was used in Iron Man was actually sold at auction for $682,000.

6 Ford Wolf WR1: Iron Man

via http://rabbitlightmovies.blogspot.com/

This car is unlike any other car on this list because it’s not something you could use as a daily driver. Tony Stark wasn’t cruising around the streets of New York or Malibu in the Ford Wolf WR1. Instead, this is the race car that he drove during the Monaco Grand Prix in Iron Man 2. This is a fast car to be sure, and it allowed Tony to keep pace with the pros even though he's not a racecar driver. However, the Ford Wolf WR1 was trashed by Whiplash. Stark didn’t have his Iron Man armor on him, so he couldn’t save this amazing race car.

5 Bugatti Veyron: Iron Man

via automobilesreview.com

The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport is widely considered to be one of the best, if not the best, supercars ever made, so you know Tony Stark would have one of these bad boys in his collection.

This $2.5-million supercar was destroyed by the Mandarin in Iron Man 3.

Sadly, this supercar met an unfortunate end when Stark’s Malibu mansion was blown up. Of course, $2.5 million is nothing for a billionaire. Stark could easily buy another Veyron Super Sport despite that fact that not many were produced. When a rare supercar with a limited-production run is sent to the bottom of the ocean, everyone sheds a tear.

4 Mercury Coupe: Iron Man

via http://ironman.wikia.com/

Tony Stark is a huge fan of classic cars, and he enjoys adding vintage automobiles to his impressive garage whenever he can. Take the 1949 Mercury Coupe for instance. This is a classy car with a certain je nai se quois. It’s elegant and iconic, so Stark just had to have one. The 1949 Mercury Coupe can be seen in Iron Man 2 as part of Stark’s impressive garage. Iron Man isn’t the only hero to have a 1949 Mercury. Batman drove a 1949 Mercury in the Batman and Robin serials. Batman’s Mercury was actually the Batmobile and not just a car in Bruce Wayne’s garage.

3 Cadillac Ghia: Iron Man

via pintrest

Cadillac might not have the prestige it once did. Back in the day, having a Cadillac meant you had class and sophistication. Today, it just means you have money to spend. That’s probably why Stark doesn’t have any modern Caddies in his garage, but he does have this beautiful classic 1953 Cadillac Ghia. The Ghia is from a day when Cadillac was at the top of the heap. It’s a car that has a Hollywood feel and tons of personality. There were actually only two Cadillac Ghias ever made. Of course, Stark would have a car this rare in his collection.

2 1962 Chevy Corvette: Agent Coulson

via pintrest

Agent Coulson’s stylish and high-tech 1962 Chevy Corvette appears in the ABC TV show Agents of SHIELD, and it's affectionately nicknamed "Lola."

This isn’t just any ordinary Chevy Corvette. This car is practically a superhero all by itself.

It has all sorts of capabilities that you simply don’t see in a typical classic car. Lola is packed to the brim with weapons used to fight the bad guys. The hover car has guns that extend out of the headlights, a bulletproof windshield, and even a flamethrower. Tony Stark’s father, Howard Stark, designed the high-tech features in this stunning classic car.

1 Mercedes-Benz E-class Cabriolet: Wonder Woman

via topspeed.com

Wonder Woman doesn’t always ride around on a wild horse or fly around in a stealthy invisible jet, you know. Sometimes, she needs to lay low and arrive in style. Everyone loves a convertible, even Wonder Woman. Enter the stunning Mercedes-Benz E-class Cabriolet. Wonder Woman drove this classy luxury car in the Justice League film, and the sweet ride only made the empowering superhero ever cooler. The Mercedes-Benz E-class Cabriolet is high-tech, sleek, and classy. This is a comfortable and classy cruiser that’s fit for a superhero or a princess – it’s a good thing that Wonder Woman is both of those things.
