Online auction website eBay can often throw up some wonderful car listings, especially in the barn find area. A seller on the auction site is right now listing a 1982 Chevrolet Corvette barn find, that sat in the previous owner's back yard. The car resides in August, Georgia, and was listed at $3,995.
A South Carolina Purchase
The seller of the car lists that it was from an estate in South Carolina, where it was still in the possession of the owner's wife. She stated that the car was running before her husband sadly passed away, and then it sat idle in their wooded backyard for some five years.
Naturally, wear and tear have happened to the Corvette over those years and the seller highlights that in the pictures on the listing. Considering how long some barn finds cars sit around though, it's certainly not in terrible condition. Indeed, the seller on eBay states the car “has strong bones,” and would still make an ideal restoration project.
Other Details On This Corvette
Looking at the Corvette as a whole, the exterior is in red with a portion of the hood, and the roof of the car, painted in black to give the car a two-tone livery. The interior still seems to be in pretty reasonable condition and is leather upholstered in black.
The seats and wheel though do show signs of wear and tear, so they may need reupholstering by the new owner. There are a few options on the Corvette, that include a cassette player and leather seats. The car also comes with a clean vehicle title. This particular 1982 Corvette has an automatic transmission.
Listing Includes Vehicle History Report
The seller of the car stressed that they are also advertising the Corvette in the local area.
A few other things to note are that the car has had no major accident in its lifetime, and has had one owner all its life but the odometer has an issue. This is accessible with the car's vehicle history report on the listing. This 1982 Corvette has an AutoCheck score of 43 and will need a lot of love and care to get back on the road.
