We all love a good classic car. And perhaps more than that, we love a good barn find as well. The website Classic & Sports Car regularly features barn finds that go to auction. This is one find that took place recently, a 1985 Audi Quattro 10v that has remarkably spent the last quarter of a century in storage, more than half of the car's overall lifespan. And of course, we all hope that the Audi will one day head back onto the road once again.

Car And Its History

via Classic & Sports Car

The car has been owned by the current owner since 1993, which at the time was just eight years old. The odometer inside the car reads 178,000 miles. The car was mostly used for business, although for barely four years. After changing jobs, that marked the end of any meaningful road action for this Quattro. The car was taken to a garage and then put in a barn at the farm the owner moved to. What's great about this car is that it's something of a time capsule, and nothing beats an original despite the great recreations out there.

Altogether, it looks like the car had four years on the road, and barely 200,000 miles on the clock before being stuffed into a barn and not driven for over 25 years. Thankfully, this year, the car owner decided it needed a second chance.

Getting into the nitty-gritty details of the car, it's a first-generation Quattro. Powered by a 2.2-liter five-cylinder 10-valve engine, it features both a turbocharger and an intercooler as well. Of course, this car is going to need a lot of TLC and remedial work done to it.

Will It Run Again?

via Classic & Sports Car

According to Sports Car Digest, the Quattro sold at Classic Car Auctions taking place September 18-19 for £17,205 (about $22,400).

When it last ran, it ran absolutely fine, so one would hope that it gets whatever maintenance it needs so someone can fire it up again. The Quattro, of course, made its name in the World Rally Championship, sweeping all before it barring a brief challenge from Lancia’s 037 rally car. Surely, we can call the Quattro one of the best Audis ever made.
