According to statistics provided by Insure.com, there are very particular cars that women find attractive. The site provided a survey to 2,000 men and women, asking what type, brand, and color of car they believe are the most attractive to the opposite sex. And the results probably won’t come as a surprise to many, though they may to a few. Women ranked these styles as cars that attractive men drive: 32% pickups, 27% sports cars, 16% SUVs, 11% sedans, 9% hybrid or electric, and smaller percentages for UPS trucks and minivans and mail trucks.

As ranked by women, the top brands for attractive men were Ford (16%), Chevrolet (13%), and Porsche (11%). And that’s a good thing that American companies like Ford and Chevy did so well, because this list is all about the American cars! Women overwhelmingly pointed to black (53%) as the color of cars that are driven by attractive men, followed by silver (16%), and red (13%).

So basically, if you drive a black Ford F-150, you’re in business. Big time. And the Executive Editor of Cars.com solidifies these statistics, saying “The findings strike me as very accurate. Among the general public, a black pickup truck is a reflection of a masculine owner. A woman walks up to a black pickup truck and says to herself, ‘Here’s a guy who can help me move, bring me large gifts from Crate & Barrel, and do repairs around my condo.’” Now that’s pretty hilariously specific, but we’ll take it.

Here are 20 American cars that will melt a woman’s heart.

20 Ford GT

via autoweek.com

It’s a well-known fact that some people are simply gold diggers. That’s not a dig (ha) at them, but it’s simply a fact: people are attracted to things that cost a lot of money. And who knows how exactly the ratio of the cost of a car to the desirability of a man works out, but the Ford GT is a great case in point. The price of one of these bad boys starts at $400,000. It’s probably the most ambitious car Ford has put out, in the sports car department. It’s the American company’s only true supercar.

The Ford GT was first introduced in 2004 and produced until 2006, then it went on a hiatus until the 2016 version came out. The “GT” nameplate refers to the historically significant GT40, which was a four-time consecutive winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans races from 1966 to 1969. The GT40 also finished 1-2-3 in 1966. The second-generation GT is powered by a 3.5-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 engine that gives it 647 hp. It can reach 0-60 mph in just 2.8 seconds and has a top speed of 216 mph. Also, according to Ford, “The GT will exhibit one of the best power-to-weight ratios of any production car.” So there’s a good reason why this car melts people’s hearts.

19 Cadillac Escalade ESV Platinum

via siddillon.com

The Cadillac Escalade ESV Platinum oozes class, which is just the kind of thing that guys need if they hope to woo women. The ESV Platinum offers some of the best auto engineering that American cars have to offer in terms of off-road vehicles. This interior of the car is clad in a rear-seat entertainment system and an awesome setting that enables multi-directional massaging. A seat massage in a car? You heard that right. That feature alone makes this one of the coolest SUVs around.

The Escalade ESV Platinum also exudes power. It runs on a high-output 6.0-liter Vortec V8 engine, giving it 345 hp, paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission. It has the “StabiliTrak” electronic stability control system, upgraded just for this model’s four-wheel drive version.

High Intensity Discharge (HID) low beam headlights, power-adjustable pedals, and signal outside mirrors all come standard, as well as XM Satellite Radio, second-row bucket seats, and a tire pressure monitoring system. The Platinum ESV second generation edition of this car started at $71,025. It came with the first factory-installed 20-inch chrome wheels, a slightly lowered suspension than Escalades before it, and even heated and cooled cup holders! The ebony and shale dashboard and shale leather upholstery are just two more features that make this SUV an absolute wonder.

18 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500

via caranddriver.com

The Ford Mustang is THE true American sports/pony car. It’s also one of the most inexpensive cars you can buy that is still considered a gold digger magnet, because the base price of one is just $25,000. The Shelby GT500 takes things to a whole other level, however. This is the high-performance variant of the Mustang. The original Shelby was built by Shelby America from 1965 to 1968 (and is a female magnet in its own right), then built by Ford from 1969 to 1970. Finally in 2005 it was released again, reviving the nameplate, and the third generation was introduced in 2010, which is where the GT500 comes into play.

The car’s engine was upgraded from the 2005 generation, now running on a 5.4-liter 4-valve V8 that powered 540 horses and a knock sensor to protect the engine is lower octane fuel is used (none of that cheap stuff!). It can reach 0-60 mph in 4.19 seconds and has a top speed of 180 mph. In 2011 the GT500 Super Snake was introduced, introducing a supercharged engine with 660 hp, with the option of a Shelby/Kenne Bell kit to produce 750 hp. For the price, this is one of the most powerful American sports cars you can buy, and there’s a good chance it’ll turn heads when you pull up into the parking lot.

17 Hummer H2

via mecum.com

We might not like to admit that this car gets the ladies, because of jokes about compensation and all that… but it does. The Hummer H2 is nothing if not eye-catching. It takes up the whole road, basically, and demands attention. It looks slightly frightening, with its exterior adapted from military Humvees. (We all know how much ladies like a man in uniform, and this is basically a car in uniform…)

The H2 gives people the impression that you’re in charge, dominant, or that you just have some extra money in the bank to spend on frivolous monstrosities.

The funny thing is that Hummers aren’t really all that expensive, they just look expensive. You can get an older one for anywhere from $25,000 and up, though the newer models (2008-2009) will run you about $60,000.

The 2008-2009 third-generation model runs on a 6.2-liter V8 that gives it 393 hp and a 0-60 time of 9.1 seconds. But you’re not buying a Hummer for speed, obviously, but for attention. The car also comes with adjustable rear suspension as an option in the “Adventure Package,” which is aptly named, a wide power sunroof option, a rearview camera option, a DVD entertainment system option, navigation system, and ladder optional (just in case you need help getting inside… just kidding).

16 C7 Chevrolet Corvette

via hennesseyperformance.com

The Chevrolet Corvette is another sexy stunner of a sports car. There’s a reason they’ve been around since 1953 and don’t show any signs of slowing down. This car, colloquially known as the ‘Vette, has been drawing people in through seven generations and countless iterations. The first model, a convertible, was introduced in 1953 as a concept car, named after a small, maneuverable warship called a corvette. Fast forward to 2014, and the C7 seventh-generation model, and things have changed quite a bit.

Some people have called the ‘Vette “lust on wheels,” and due to their curvaceous bodies and phallic profile, we can see why. These cars offer Ferrari-like performance for only a fraction of a cost, and who doesn’t like that? If you can buy a super fast car, NOT break the bank, and get the girl at the same time, isn’t that a big win? If you want the more expensive Z06 trim, that’s your call, but any Corvette should really get the trick done. As Corvette’s marketing manager, John Fitzpatrick, said, “It’s the old saying: ‘Nobody wants to be seen driving an old man’s car, but everybody wants to be seen driving a young man’s car.’” We couldn’t have said it better ourselves, John.

15 Ram Heavy Duty 2500

via caranddriver.com

Motor Trend recently posted an article asking, “Is Your Ride a Chick Magnet? Find out in Motor Trend’s Guide to Getting Girls (Written by Actual Girls).” And who better to tell you if your car is going to attract the fairer sex than members of the fairer sex? Well, when it comes to picking up chicks, the Ram HD2500 is a pretty good bet. This beefy beast of a truck is seriously heavy duty, as it says on the nameplate.

According to one of the girls in the article, “I, for one, love the meathead-guy pickups. My favorite is the Ram Heavy Duty 2500. It’s too big for me, but it’s totally a guy’s truck. And yes, I generally check out the driver whenever I see one on the road. As singer Alan Jackson says, ‘I met all my wives in traffic jams. You know, there’s somethin’ women love about a pickup man.”

She’s probably right, but this isn’t just any pickup. It’s a 6.7-liter, 350-hp turbodiesel-running display of machismo. As MotorTrend put it in the article, “The combination of sheer capability and refinement is a big part of why the Ram won Truck of the Year honors for 2010.”

14 Chevrolet Tahoe

via autoguide.com

The Chevy Tahoe is a full-size SUV that’s been sold in huge quantities across America (and other places) since 1991, first as the GMC Yukon, then from 1995 as the Chevy Tahoe. It’s been praised by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) as one of the best in its class. And everyone wants to feel safe—which is what women might think if you’re driving a Tahoe, that you’ll be a protector. Even if that isn’t true, that’s the kind of vibe you’re probably giving off.

As associate online editor Carol Ngo of MotorTrend says, “Nothing is sexier than seeing a man who can handle a hunky, full-size SUV. It makes him look manlier.” With its utility and versatility, the Tahoe defines masculinity, she goes on to say. It has impressive towing capacity (7,000 lbs), a 5.3-liter, 320-hp V8 engine, and it roars ruggedly (though the engine noise in the cabin is muted a bit). MotorTrend says “It’s encouraging that GM can create a vehicle line that moves to the head of its class right out of the gate instead of just blending in with existing offerings. The Tahoe is a bigger, stronger, safer, more fuel-efficient sport/utility with a decent interior—finally.”

13 Ford Bronco

via maxim.com

The Ford Bronco is not the most appealing car looks-wise, but looks aren’t everything when it comes to stealing a woman’s heart, as we’ll soon find out. The Bronco is a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) that was named before the term “SUV” was even in existence. It was manufactured for 30 strong years, from 1966 to 1996, over five generations, and Ford reintroduced the Bronco at the 2017 North American International Car Show in Detroit, Michigan, for the 2020 year.

In 1966 it was introduced as a competitor to the small 4-wheel-drive compact SUVs, including the Jeep CJ-5, and the International Harvester Scout. It was built on its own rugged platform and was redesigned in 1978.

As one of the female writers on the MotorTrend article put it, “I’m talking about those vehicles before the SUV term existed—such as a CJ, Land Rover Series I, II, III, the Bronco—if it’s running, that means that their owner is willing to put in the work, and they’ve probably done the research and are a fan of the coolest ‘utes (utility vehicles) out there. Why is this my fantasy pick? Because finding a stock classic SUV is very rare.” So maybe her reasoning isn’t what you wanted to hear, but her heart’s in the right place.

12 1950s Chevrolet Corvette

via pinterest.com

We just have to return to the ‘Vette because it’s a classic, and we’ve found that we’re not the only ones that think so. In terms of melting hearts, there’s something about the first generation Corvette that just does the trick. It’s the “solid-axle” model, and 300 hand-built polo white ‘Vette convertibles were introduced in their inaugural 1953 year. If you have one of these, your odds are pretty high that you’re going to get lucky with the ladies. And it won’t be luck, either, it’ll be the car you’re driving. The ‘50s Corvettes are awash with style—just like many other classic cars of the era.

One of the female writers from MotorTrend put it best when mentioning “Classic Cars” such as the 1950s Corvette, Porsches, Jaguars, Mercedes (particularly the Gullwing). “To me, this symbolizes not only an appreciation for history, but for classic beauty and styling. It signifies that he’s dedicated to the care and maintenance that a classic vehicle requires to keep it reliable as a daily driver, or that he has other vehicles in the garage to serve that purpose. That shows commitment, which is undoubtedly an attractive quality.” Amen, sister.

11 Jeep Wrangler

via jeep.com

The Jeep Wrangler has been attracting women since the ‘70’s CJ5. These off-roaders were a progression from the World War II Jeep, called the CJ (Civilian Jeeps) and first produced by Willys, Kaiser-Jeep, and American Motors Corporation (AMC) from the mid-‘40s through 1980s. Just like the CJ Jeeps before them, the Wrangler continues to use a separate body and frame, rigid live axles on the front and rear, a tapering nose design, flared fenders, a foldable windshield, and can be driven without doors.

These are the undisputed, ultimate rugged, off-road vehicles. They’re one of the best cars to drive if you’re looking to attract the ladies. The Jeep Wrangler has set the Guinness World Record for highest altitude attained by a four-wheeled vehicle, when a team climbed Chile’s Ojos del Salado, the highest volcano on Earth. The car has been awarded the “4x4 of the Year” award by multiple magazines in multiple years. Business Week has even named the Wrangler as “One of the Most Iconic Cars of the Last 20 Years.” They’re dependable, rugged, durable, and people love to be seen driving them, which means ladies, too. There was even talks of an Electric Wrangler coming out in 2009, but that project got scrapped—though the dream is still alive.

10 Cadillac Eldorado

via heacockclassic.com

This is classic car from a bygone era. The Cadillac Eldorado was a sleek, super cool stunner that was in existence even before the Corvette (since 1952, in fact). Having lived through half of the 20th century, the Eldorado truly is a piece of iconic Americana. It lived through ten generations, all the way until 2002. It was always at the top of the line during its production. The original 1953 Eldorado convertible and the Brougham models of 1957-1960 were the most expensive models that Cadillac offered.

These cars exuded class and style. The car was built to compete with similar vehicles like the Lincoln Mark series, Buick Riviera, Oldsmobile Toronado, and Chrysler Imperial Coupe… but you don’t hear too much about those other cars, do you? Conversely, the Eldorado will never die.

The original model was introduced by General Motors in 1953 as a special-bodied, low-production convertible (532 units only). It had a wraparound windshield and a cut-down belt line, bumper bullets, and a full assortment of other deluxe accessories and features, making this a car that was heavily sought after. And it still is today, albeit for much higher price tags. If you’re looking to turn heads, and you have one of these sitting in the garage, what are you waiting for? Hit the road!

9 Dodge Viper

via ss-vette.com

The Dodge Viper is one of the most stunning yet reasonably-priced sports cars you can buy. In modern times, it’s really become a supercar, and its biggest competition has always been with another car on this list, the Corvette. But the Viper exudes a different kind of appeal. It’s aggressive, powerful, and really fits the bill of the “women love sports cars” stereotype. The Viper is low to the ground, aerodynamically sleek and unique, super fast with its V10 engine, and is just an all-around attractive car.

The best part is that their body designs haven’t changed much, and you can get a mid-‘90s Viper for less than $50,000, though they look like they’d cost six figures at least.

If you’re trying to impress the ladies, some may say that you’re trying TOO hard by owning a Viper, but so what? Not every car is going to be attractive to every person, but we’d put a heavy wager that a lot of people WILL find this car attractive. You just have to pick your battles. It may be gold digger bait, but it’s also a super fun car to drive. A 1996 RT/10 runs on a 415-hp, odd-firing 8.0-liter V10 engine that is powerful and, best of all, LOUD.

8 Tesla Model S

via theverge.com

The Tesla Model S may be the new, mysterious kid on the block, but it’s made one heck of an entrance since it was first introduced in 2012. It scored a perfect 5.0 NHTSA automobile safety rating, so you have your boxes checked when it comes to safe = attractive. It’s super environmentally-friendly and fuel efficient, as it’s equipped with a 100 kWh battery pack that gives it a charge of 335 miles, higher than any other electric car. Check another box off for environmentalists. The 2017 90D Model S gets a combined fuel economy of 104 miles per gallon gasoline equivalent.

And best of all, inside the car looks unlike anything you’ve ever seen. It doesn’t have buttons or knobs or any of the features people normally associate with the front of cars. Everything is electrically operated and run, which is sure to impress some people. It’s quiet but quick as it drives, running on 416-hp three-phase, four-pole AC induction, rear-mounted electric motors with copper rotor. Just try saying that last sentence to whoever you’re driving and you’ll either lose them, astound them, or have them wrapped around your finger in the time it takes you to spit all that out.

7 Dodge Challenger

via motortrend.com

The Dodge Challenger is a legendary muscle car that will definitely attract a particular type of girl. (Girls that like muscle cars and probably muscles in general). It’s been around for decades (since 1959), first as a “value version” of the full-sized Coronet two-door sedan. Then the first generation Dodge Challenger pony car was introduced in 1970 and the whole game was changed. These cars have been shown in films like The Fast and the Furious (which might be enough to melt someone’s heart by itself). It was built in hardtop and convertible styles.

Finally, in 2008 the third generation pony car was introduced as a rival to the newly evolved fifth generation Ford Mustang and fifth generation Chevrolet Camaro. Multiple versions of the newest Challenger have been released, including the most powerful, the SRT Demon, which was equipped with an all-new 6.2-liter V8 engine and a 2.7-liter supercharger, putting out a whopping 808 horsepower with 91 octane gas and 840 horsepower with 100 octane fuel. If you want an aggressive car that will make you look a bit crazy, a bit fearsome, and a bit attractive, you can’t go wrong with a powerful muscle car like the Dodge Challenger. The crazy part is you can get a 2018 standard Challenger for pretty cheap, at just $27,295 new.

6 Chevrolet Camaro

via motortrend.com

Speaking of the Camaro and muscle cars, we’d be missing out big time if we didn’t include it on this list, because the Camaro has been turning eyes and melting hearts for almost as long as the other pony cars on this list, since 1966. This car is a true classic muscle car, built to compete directly against the Ford Mustang. The car was built through four generations between 1966 and 2002, and then a fifth generation from 2010 to 2015, and a current sixth generation from 2016 onward.

Let’s focus on the newest version, which is an affordable muscle car that can be purchased for as low as $24,000 new, yet it features a sleek design, advanced technologies, and impressive performance. It can go from 0-60 mph in less than 6 seconds, and its an all-around exciting car—and women love excitement. But it’s also for people who don’t like to show off by getting the most expensive thing, because it’s not the most expensive and yet women find them desirable. The contributing factor to that desire, in this case, is the power in that loud, 650 hp supercharged engine (from the ZL1 model), which is based on the same engine as the Corvette Z06.

5 Ford Mustang GT Premium

via youtube.com

Since we’re dealing with muscle and pony cars recently, might as well bring in arguably the heaviest competitor when it comes to the three (Dodge Challenger, Chevy Camaro) and, the Ford Mustang. Now, we already mentioned the Shelby GT Mustang, but this is a completely different car so it deserves its own entry—plus, you can never have too many Mustangs. If I could, I’d add in the ‘60s and ‘70s Mustangs as well, becomes those were chick magnets in their own right during their day (and I still might add that entry…)

Anyway, the Ford Mustang GT Premium is the top-of-the-top of the line Mustang. The newest model starts at just $41,000, and the convertible version is perfect for going fast, letting you and your new girl’s hair fly in the wind.

This was the car that inspired the term “pony car,” and don’t forget it. The newest car for the 2018 lineup featured a power-increased 5.0-liter V8 engine with 460 hp, and a ten-speed automatic transmission developed by Ford and General Motors together. These cars will never go out of style, which should be obvious for how popular they are and how long they’ve been going. You can’t go wrong with a Mustang of any year, but these newer models especially are just killer.

4 Ford F-150 King Ranch

via youtube.com

The Ford F-Series is a series of light- and medium-duty trucks that have been around since 1948. Most variants of these trucks are full-sized pickups. Since 1986 the Ford F-Series has been the best-selling vehicle in the United States, and the best-selling pickup since 1977. They blow all of the competition out of the water. And check out this crazy statistic: as of 2018, the F-Series generates an unheard of $41 billion in annual revenue for Ford, making the F-Series brand more valuable than both Coca-Cola and Nike.

With popularity like that, you have to wonder what all the hubbub is about. Well, Ford trucks have a few things going for them: they’re generally dependable, have great towing, are powerful, and are durable. The Ford F-150 King Ranch is the perfect blend of power, utility, and luxury, according to ZeroTo60Times.com. In 2009 the F-150 King Ranch won the top honors as the “Truck of Texas,” and the “Best Luxury Pickup” from Texas Auto Writers Association. Almost a million F-Series trucks are sold every year in the United States alone. People who drive them look dependable, independent, and in control of their own destiny. These heavy duty luxury trucks are nothing to sneeze at.

3 Ford SVT Raptor

via pinterest.com

The Ford SVT Raptor is like a super-powered F-150. They’re almost as big as Hummers, and showcase power and ruggedness to an even higher level than other F-Series trucks. They first came about in 2009 as a dedicated off-roader, and sales were much stronger than Ford expected.

The truck was powered by a 5.4-liter V8 engine, with the option of a 6.2-liter V8, and the differing horsepowers of 310 and 411, respectively.

These trucks feature Fox Racing internal bypass shocks with external reservoirs to allow 11 inches of suspension travel in front and 12-inches in the rear. These trucks are awesome, and they have "FORD" prominently plastered across the front grille, just in case you didn’t know what kind of truck you were step-laddering into. Shelby America makes a higher performance version called the Shelby Raptor, and Hennessey Special Vehicles makes an even stronger version called the Hennessey VelociRAptor SUV.

The SVT Raptor is an F-150 on steroids, capable of towing 8,000 lbs standard, with a 1,770-pound payload (SuperCrew only). Pricing starts at $42,000, and if you’re trying to impress, you might as well go for it. You won’t find a stronger, more powerful truck out there, most likely. And since chicks like trucks, you’re in luck.

2 Cadillac CTS

via latimes.com

We already talked about the Cadillac Eldorado and the Cadillac Escalade earlier, and how they exude class and luxury, especially for their respective times, and the CTS does the same. This is a mid-size luxury car that won’t break the bank like a Rolls-Royce or Bentley, but looks kind of similar from the outside. And for many, that’s enough of a win to buy one of these guys.

The CTS was initially offered as a four-door sedan, then a two-door coupe, and finally as a five-door sport wagon. You can’t really go wrong with any of the options if you’re a bachelor on the prowl. At their most powerful, the newest models run on 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engines that pump out 640 horsepower and a new 8-speed automatic transmission. There’s even a high-performance version of the car available, the CTS-V. With the sleek lines and beautiful luxury of this car, Cadillac has done it again: they’ve built a chick magnet that will make you look like you’re in control. And while a Mercedes-Benz of high quality might start in the low six figures, a 2018 Cadillac CTS will run you less than half that, at $46,495 new.

1 Chevrolet Volt

via caranddriver.com

Finally, we would be remiss to not include another environmentally-friendly car on this list, in this case the Chevrolet Volt. These plug-in hybrid cars are pretty dang awesome. They operate as pure battery electric vehicles until the battery capacity drops, and from there the internal combustion engine kicks off the electric generator.

The 2016 second-generation model year Volt gets a range of 420 miles, with an all-electric mode of 106 mpg-e and a charge-sustaining mode of 42 mpg.

The Volt has won several awards, including the 2009 Green Car Vision Award, the 2011 Green Car of the Year, the 2011 North American Car of the Year, 2011 World Green Car, 2012 European Car of the Year, and 2016 Car of the Year. These are the perfect cars for those who are environmentally conscious, confident in their own abilities and not trying to impress anyone… which can often be pretty attractive and impressive in its own right. Hybrid and electric cars are quickly becoming something more than just “the cars of the future.” The future’s already here, and often it’s an embarrassment to still be driving around in big, honking Hummers and gas-guzzlers. So people who drive the Volt and cars like it might be seen as conscientious and understanding, and ready for responsibility and maturity. And what’s more attractive than that?
