The original "Rich Kids of Instagram" account, which amassed more than 400,000 followers at one point, has been deactivated for quite some time now (why? we have no idea), but we wouldn't blame you if you didn't miss its absence. After all, in its place have sprung dozens of copycat and spin-off accounts, most of them featuring the lifestyles of the offspring of the world's one percenters.
People have various reasons for giving a follow to these "Rich Kids of..." accounts. There are followers who like to torture themselves by witnessing what opulent lifestyles they're missing out on. There are also those who desperately (and pathetically) attempt to copy what rich kids do. And then there are those (like me) who just get a kick out of making fun of how silly these kids look as they attempt to outdo each other through their Instagram posts.
But even those who have no desire to flaunt their wealth (if they had wealth) to the world would be lying if they didn't admit that a part of them is envious of what these rich kids are able to do with their parents' money. They're able to visit exotic locations, drink expensive wines, and of course, drive the most luxurious automobiles imaginable.
Let's take a look at rich kids from twenty different locations and see how they're showing off their rides through Instagram.
20 A Rich Kid of Singapore
The rich Singaporean chick in the photo is sitting on a blue Ferrari 458 Italia Spider, which is worth over $230,000. Her ride is no doubt a sweet one, but really, what's she doing putting a polka-dotted bowtie on it to match the ridiculous bowtie that she herself has on? And what's with that cane? Her legs seem perfectly fine (really fine!) to me. No matter how rich she is and how sweet her ride is, people can't be blamed for laughing at her face if they see her in person. It seems that while Singapore may be one of the most expensive and richest cities in the world, some of their kids could use a few sessions in a styling school.
19 A Rich Kid of Dubai
The Rich Kid of Dubai in this photo is AJ Razek, a Canadian who founded The Rize Group. The company is a major events organizer of youth events in Dubai. AJ loves to flaunt his lavish lifestyle on Instagram, but that really isn't very surprising, as he needs to maintain a high profile because of his line of work. In the photo, he's posing with the famous Cayan Tower (the twisted building) in the background as he leans on his red Ferrari convertible, which he describes as his dream car. Why he's in the middle of removing his upper garment and why he has chicken legs despite his muscular upper body are unclear, though.
18 Rich Kids of Russia
And now, instead of one dude standing on top his car, we have two guys doing it. These rich Russian kids are infinitely cool, their hand gestures conveying just how macho they are. But let's give it to them - their rides are pretty sweet. The guy in white is standing atop the hood of his white Rolls-Royce Wraith worth at least $300,000. Of course, he's left the back door slightly open to amaze everyone with how it works. The guy in black, on the other hand, is balancing on the edge of his Mercedes-Benz AMG GT S Sports Car, which costs around $110,000. The stripes on the hood of the Benz are a nice touch, actually.
17 A Rich Kid of Germany
It looks mighty cold just below that mountain, but that red Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 SuperVeloce is certainly hot enough to warm up the scenery. It's worth around $400,000, but such a price shouldn't be an issue for many rich German kids (or their parents). While the SuperVeloce can go 0-60 mph in a mind-blowing 2.7 seconds with its 740 hp-enabled 6.5L engine, we're not so sure this young German driver should be driving like a maniac on such snowy, slippery roads, even if the brake system of this machine has been described to be superb.
16 A Rich Kid of Qatar
Pictured here, waving from a Mercedes McLaren SLR is Qatar's Mohammed Al Kubaisi. That car doesn't seem to be his, but by no means is he a poser trying to look wealthy - Mohammad has his own impressive collection of cars, which he's been able to afford due to his very successful real-estate business. He's owned, at one point or another, a Bentley Continental GT, a Maserati GranTurismo S, a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, a Ferrari 458 Italia, a Ferrari 599 GTB, an Aston Martin Rapide, and a Rolls-Royce Ghost, among others.
15 A Rich Kid of Zimbabwe
In the photo is Sidney Himbara Jr., one of the most notorious rich kids of Zimbabwe. The nation is by no means one of the richest in the world, but Sidney isn't at all shy about showing off his family's wealth on Instagram. His father is one of the richest businessmen in the country, and that's allowed Sidney to enjoy the good life, including driving the $400,000 Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 S V he's sitting on in the photo. Needless to say, Himbara Jr. eats hateful comments on his Instagram account for breakfast.
14 Rich Kids of Munich
Here, we have two Lamborghinis parked across each other on the Maximilianstraße, one of Munich's four royal avenues. They're both owned by rich Munich kids who probably went shopping at the high-end stores (Louis Vuitton, Bulgari, Chanel, etc.) on the strip. The beauty farther back is a silver Lamborghini Aventador, which has a base price of close to $400,000. In the foreground is a Lamborghini Huracan, which has a base price of a little over $200,000. However, after that tacky paint job, it's now probably worth much less.
13 A Rich Kid of Albania
This rich girl from Albania is obviously very wealthy, as she's photographed with what appears to be a black Mercedes-AMG E63 worth over $100,000 and a tiger, which is apparently a normal pet to have for the richest of the rich in the Southeastern European country. She's actually quite an attractive young lady, but we wish someone had told her that posing with her pet tiger is already a bit tacky and that posing while holding a tuft of her hair takes the tackiness to of the photo to outer-space levels. But she probably wouldn't care; she's filthy rich.
12 Rich Kids of Canada
Yes, that's a white Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG. And yes, it's being loaded onto a car hauler, while its owner helplessly watches from the ramp of another hauler. Unfortunately for him, the car, along with twelve other supercars, has been impounded, as the rich young drivers were caught illegally racing their super expensive toys on a public Vancouver freeway. Among the other supercars impounded were a Ferrari, an Aston Martin, a Nissan GT-R, an Audi, Maseratis, and Lamborghinis, all totaling around $2 million. Most of the drivers, whose driver's licenses were confiscated for up to one year, were only 16 or 17 years old and were students of St. George's School.
11 A Rich Kid of Tehran
If you were asked where you'd be likely to find a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG (which is worth more than $200,000), Iran probably wouldn't be the first place you'd mention. But that's where this photo was taken - Tehran, to be exact. Yes, despite the suffering that the majority of the Iranians have to experience each day, there are still many Iranians who are filthy rich and can afford to give their children ridiculously expensive supercars. No wonder The Rich Kids of Tehran Instagram account has partly been blamed for the disorderly street protests currently hounding the country.
10 A Rich Kid of Saudi Arabia
The Rolls-Royce Palm Edition 999 is already worth around $300,000, but when Mansory adds 24-karat gold to the door handles, the badges, and the sill guards, it certainly becomes worth way more than that. And that's why this photo of a cheetah on the hood of such an outrageously expensive car, as posted on Instagram by a rich kid from Saudi Arabia, is so infuriating. How could even the richest person in the world not care if a cheetah's claws end up scratching such a beautiful ride? But that's Saudi Arabia - the world's leading oil superpower - for you...
9 Rich Kids of LA
It was a little confusing whether to label this one "Rich Kids of LA" or "Rich Kids of China," as what we have in the photo are the cars of rich Chinese kids who met up in California's San Gabriel Valley, which has a predominantly Asian population. The vehicles with their scissors doors open are three Lamborghini Aventadors worth around $400,000 each, and they're sandwiched by a $300,000 Rolls-Royce Ghost and a $300,000 Bentley Mulsanne. What was the meeting's important agendum? Well, the rich Chinese kids, many of them college students in America, just wanted an opportunity to meet each other and pat each other's backs for being born to such wealthy parents.
8 A Rich Kid of England
23-year-old Aleem Iqbal, who calls himself "Lord Aleem," is a young businessman based in Birmingham, England. He owns a fleet of supercars, including the Lambos in the photo, and his super luxurious vehicles are the main sources of his wealth. That's because he, with his father, runs a luxury car-rental business that gives customers the opportunity to drive Lamborghinis, Rolls-Royces, and Ferraris, among others, for a handsome fee.
Aleem has been in the news several times over the years. In June of 2014, four of his supercars worth around £500,000 were torched by arsonists who seemed to be resentful about how the young man had the habit of flaunting his wealth on social media. Then, in September of 2017, he was caught speeding in his Rolls-Royce and was consequently banned from driving his luxury cars for a year. Poor him, right?
7 A Rich Kid of South Africa
Geesh. When we say "rich kid," we don't usually mean "kid" as in "young child," but here we have five-year-old Israella Bushiri, whose father, Prophet Shepherd Bushiri, bought her a $414,000 Maserati Levante as a birthday present. Shepherd Bushiri is a South Africa-based preacher who's been in the news lately, as Botswana shut down his churches for violating the country's laws prohibiting charging people money for a chance at being granted a miracle. (What else has to be said about that, really?) Talking about the gift, the pastor explained that people shouldn't focus on the cost of the gift and that they should instead learn the value of being there for one's family and of responsible parenthood. Hmm...
6 A Rich Kid of Switzerland
So, here we have a Swiss dude who's standing on the spoiler of his Koenigsegg Agera to be able to get a good view as he takes a photo of several other hot cars all lined up in a row. That's a pretty expensive platform - upwards of $2.1 million, to be exact. We can't actually blame him for wanting to take such a photo, as it would probably turn out to be a stunning one. But doing it by standing on the rear wing of such an outrageously expensive hypercar?! Really?! Even if the spoiler is actually pretty durable (and for the car's price, it should be), why would he even risk damaging it just for a photo?! Because he's super rich? Yeah, you got us there...
5 Rich Kids of the Philippines
In the photo are some actors from the Philippines. The pair on the left is Enrique Gil and his friend, Kris Aquino. The yellow car is Enrique's Dodge Nitro 2009 Chevrolet Camaro, also known as a "Bumblebee Camaro" due to the Transformers movies. It's worth less than $20,000, so Gil must be some sort of a pauper. The pair on the right is Dingdong (no kidding - that's really his first name) Dantes and his wife, Marian Rivera. Beside Dingdong is his Maserati GranTurismo worth over $130,000. He said that he allows his wife to drive it at times, so he must really love her.
4 A Rich Kid of Sweden
Sitting on a 2004 Rolls-Royce Phantom is Swedish shoe designer, model, and entrepreneur Marcus Wetterheim. The photo was taken while he was on a road trip in Marbella, Spain. Marcus is most known for being the creative director and founder of Carlo Antonio, a luxury shoe brand that started in 2015. He said that he was inspired to get into designing because he couldn't find the clothes and the shoes that he wanted to wear. Well, it seems that Marcus really does have excellent style, as the Phantom he's using as a stool is certainly a thing of beauty.
3 A Rich Kid of Norway
In the photo is Alexander Burnham, a Norwegian who, from his Instagram account, appears to love golf and the good life. From the photos above, it's also pretty obvious that he enjoys booze and hot cars. In the caption for the combined photos, he even jokes that the cars were "good company," and we really can't fault Alex for saying that. (We're not sure, though, if the cars would say the same about him.) On the top is a Ferrari California worth around $230,000. Below it is some sort of vintage race car, and while we aren't sure what it is exactly, we're pretty sure that it's worth a lot of money.
2 A Rich Kid of Istanbul
This rich dude from Istanbul named "Umit Akbulut" clearly likes his cars white. The "B4L" on the gates apparently stands for "Brothers 4 Life," an entertainment and sports company that Umit co-founded with soccer player Colin Kazim. The official website of the "premier lifestyle group" brags about the organization "bringing the hottest sports players and celebrities together from all over the world," and the celebrities include the likes of Floyd Mayweather, Chris Brown, 50 Cent, and Justin Bieber. Well, in case these big names come for a visit, Umit can certainly take them around in these gorgeous cars.
1 A Rich Kid of Vietnam
Vietnam is one of the fastest-growing economies in Southeast Asia, and this has resulted in a spike in the number of super-rich Vietnamese families. And as expected, along with that is a spike in the number of rich kids who like to show off their wealth, including their hot cars. This dude, in particular, is showing off his yellow Ferrari California. It's a beauty. Sadly, he still doesn't look too happy, and we can't blame him - it seems that despite his family's wealth, his parents refuse to replace his torn pair of jeans. (Yeah, I'm just being bitter, I admit.)
