In addition to their nice homes and lavish fashion, celebrities are known for purchasing/ designing some of the most awesome customized cars around. Perhaps this is due to the fact that no matter what level of celebrity status they may have, they're still able to walk in most dealerships and make demands the average person just can’t afford. Everyone from actors to rappers and even TV show hosts are all known to drive around in cars more expensive and intricately put together than the average person's home. Nevertheless, isn't this what being rich is for? I mean, these people are forced to live in a bubble, they're expected to perform on command, and they have even the most intimate details of their lives discussed in the court of public opinion. Surely, there should also be a few perks!

Indeed, while most of us may grumble at the fact that many of these celebrities have car notes that are far more expensive than our mortgages, if we're honest, most of us would spend that type of money on our cars, too... if only we could afford it. While there may not be an immediate cure for being wealthy challenged, what we can do is look at the details of some of the best celebrity custom cars ever and live vicariously through them. Personally, I can't think of a better way to feed my custom-car cravings. That said, the following is a closer look at 20 (technically 21) of the top custom celebrity cars of all time.

20 Sonny & Cher's Matching Mustangs

A blast from the past, Sonny & Cher's matching Mustangs are two car artifacts deserving of celebrity-vehicle infamy. Indeed, the two 289 CID custom Mustangs were created for the couple as gifts in 1966. They were customized by well-known car customizer George Barris, the so-called "King of Kustomizers," who created two front fascias for the cars and also used Ford Thunderbird taillights. Moreover, he reworked the interior using '60s color schemes and materials, and the various alterations made to this car (including these awesomely bad paint jobs as well as the removal of the door handles) helped to make this pair of cars as unique and as vintage as the duo themselves. Although they may not be some people's cup of tea, I can't imagine making a list of the top custom celebrity cars and not including these iconic cars. With Sonny’s car painted Murano gold pearl and Cher’s car painted hot-pink pearl, the infamous car duo was recently sold as a pair to the tune of $126,500 and even came complete with a wide variety of Sonny and Cher memorabilia.

19 Leonardo DiCaprio's Fisker Karma EV Speedster

Although it may not be the most immediately eye-catching design, the Fisker Karma is certainly a vehicle to be on the lookout for. Either way, despite a wide variety of new Fisker Karma owners, no one but Leonardo can say he was the first customer/ owner ever. A lover of all things green, Leo just had to be the first in line to purchase this luxury four-seater extended-range EV.

A new-age green machine changing the way we view environmentally friendly vehicles, the car was created by Fisker Automotive, which is a California-based company owned by Henrik Fisker.

Featuring two electric motors as well as a 260 HP gas engine, the Fisker Karma also features a 20kWh lithium-ion battery, which gives it a range of 50 miles and a top speed of 153 kph. The vehicle is priced at a modest $100,000, and Leo was the first of 3,000 to receive one from the first line of production.

18 Jason Statham’s Lamborghini Murcielago

A well-known actor, director, and former model, Jason is best known for being the infamous antihero in a wide variety of films. While we're not sure if Jason's life is an example of life imitating art or vice versa, what we can say for sure is that he owns a Lamborghini Murcielago in real life, much like his character Frank Martin does in the movie Transporter 2.

Now the owner of a Lamborghini Murcielago LP640, as many know, the vast majority or Lamborghinis on the road are custom rides, made specifically for one owner.

With a paint job right out of a Bond film, this baby includes a mid-mounted 6.5-liter V12 engine as well as 631 horsepower and 487 lb-ft of torque. Either way, if you're ever lucky enough to even valet this thing, ask yourself, "What's the first rule when entering a man's car?". My guess: wipe your feet!

17 Nicki Minaj’s Pink Lambo

A car just perfect for a life-size Barbie doll such as Nicki Minaj, Nicki's pink Lambo is any Barbie lover's dream car. Moreover, unlike her various other pink cars, this one was done for much more than showing off. Quite the contrary, Nicki actually used this vehicle to promote her new clothing line at K-Mart. The kitted-out car also includes massive matching wheels, that really make the car stand out (as if the pink color wasn't enough). Furthermore, this was also back when Safaree was still her leading man, so surely, that will be need-to-know information for when it's inevitably auctioned off. The car is worth around $400,000, so I'm guessing there's a shortage of people seeking a Pepto-pink Lambo... but then again, what do I know?

16 Zac Efron’s Mustang

This is one of the coolest vintage custom Mustangs ever. In addition to its appearance, one of the best things about Zac Efron's Mustang is the back story. Purchasing his own grandfather's old Mustang in order to restore and customize it, Zac truly managed to make an old thing new again. A 1965 Mustang, this is said to be one of the star's favorite cars, as he's regularly photographed behind the wheel. While there's no telling if this was a nod to his Dirty Grandpa days or not (I'm sure his grandfather smells lovely), what we're sure about is it took about 2 years to remodel! Also, while we can't be sure if his grandpa ever transferred the title, it doesn't seem to matter who owns it, as Zac has already made it one of his signature vehicles on social media. If you happen to see an older man behind the wheel, leave him alone! As far as I know, they're not filming another Dirty Grandpa... Well, not officially.

15 James Hetfield’s Iron Fist

One of the rock world's most well-known car connoisseurs, Metallica's front-man, James Hetfield, has long since established his love of fast cars. Nevertheless, over time, his taste in vehicles has evolved from muscle cars to hot rods and other custom whips. After attempting to restore the car himself, he turned to a team he had worked with in the past, Blue Collar Customs, to take this ride to the next level. After making an array of much-needed upgrades on the exterior and under the hood, the shop decided to focus on the interior to make Hetfield's vision come to life. Adding a bunch of bells and whistles, including a steering column from a '52 Chevy, the crew even had the interior brightwork plated with nickel rather than chrome. To top it all off, Hetfield actually opted to skip the paint job and, instead, allowed the various beautiful imperfections created while restoring this beautiful machine.

14 David Beckham's Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead

A custom-built Rolls-Royce Phantom, David Beckham's custom Drophead is like something right out of a hip-hop video. Indeed one of the most celebrated soccer players ever, of course, Beckham has been driving around in style for quite some time. Complete with 24-inch Savini Forged wheels as well as his signature "23" seamed into the seats, the car comes complete with a color-matched exterior trim.

Said to have been worth around $407,000 (excluding the custom wheels and accessories), the car has 453 horsepower and a 6.75-liter V12 engine, as well as a six-speed automatic transmission.

Furthermore, with a custom-installed multi-media TV/DVD system included, this is the perfect car for a family man with a bad-boy streak... just as David Beckham does. Either way, he did put it up for sale a few years ago when it had only 5,900 miles on the dash. I assume this bad boy is already in someone else’s hands.

13 will.i.am’s Custom Coupe

This is a custom car built around a supercharged Corvette LS3 engine. Those of you who' have been following will.i.am's car collection know he's far from a customization purist.

Quite the contrary, in fact, Will seems to actually get a kick out of creating the weirdest car combinations imaginable, even if it means pissing people off and especially if it means wasting tons of cash.

The car has an exterior paint job and an interior design done by West Coast Customs, and Will purchased and customized this whip because he wanted a new car inspired by the old-school Morgan. Either way, mission accomplished! This car isn't only eye-catching but also has an old-school vibe with a new-school paint job.

12 Von Miller’s Custom Camaro SS

This is a customized Camaro that comes complete with huge 24” satin-black Forgiatos GTR wheels. As with his career moves, it seems Von Miller's motto is” go big or go home." Moreover, after he added in four 12” JL Audio speakers powered by a 4,000W amp, you'll likely hear him coming long before you see this baby whiz on by.

Indeed, after the inclusion of blue-tinted Oracle Halo LED lighting around the headlights and fog lights, it's almost impossible not to do a double take when this car rides past you.

Additionally, it's fully equipped with a V8 engine and a handpicked Vortech centrifugal supercharger that makes this whip a force to be reckoned with on the roadways. Although the NFL player does have some other more understated cars in his collection, he admitted that he enjoys driving this car because it's both incredibly fast and loud as ever!

11 Nigo’s Camo Benz

Although many aren't fond of flamboyant prints on cars, how else is a fashion designer ever expected to ride around in style? The brainchild of the creative genius behind the clothing line known as "A Bathing Ape," Nigo just couldn't come whack with regard to the customization of his cars. Nevertheless, no matter if you consider him a rebel without a cause or just without a clue, it should be clear that this is the type of thing that sets restoration purists right off the deep edge. Although it technically began as a typical factory-level 1954 Mercedes-Benz 300SL, the car quickly became something else entirely. Now with a more contemporary 6.0-liter V8 under the hood, the custom AMG engine surely helped bring this ride into the new age. Lastly, can we discuss the paint job?! This is a custom BAPE camo pattern, officially making this one of the most unique Mercedes-Benzes in the entire world.

10 Rob Dyrdek’s 1969 Chevrolet Camaro

Rob Dyrdek is an unconventional athlete/ reality TV star/ clothing designer, so it's pretty safe to say that most things about him are unconventional. So, of course, it only follows that he would have some of the hottest customized wheels around. Take, for instance, his '69 Chevy Camaro.

Complete with the signature flat-black paint job, this car also has racing tires and is sitting on some amazing 21-inch red rims.

It was made by the company All Speed Performance, and it seems the former skater purchased this whip as a means of catering to his inner speed demon. It's also said to be one of his favorite cars. Despite the fact that he's now a husband and father, the well-known TV personality apparently still has his need for speed and is still a seriously fast force to be reckoned with on the roadways.

9 Jay-Z’s Maybach Exelero

So, I just couldn't complete this compilation without listing one of the most influential men in hip-hop. Jay-Z has been instrumental in making everything popular from cars to champagne. One of the most sought-after cars in hip-hop, the Maybach Exelero is preferred due to its gangster-chic mystique.

It's a vehicle that looks like something straight out of a Bond film, and one look at Hov's Exelero will make you wish you had a few more zeros to work with the next time you hit the dealership. In addition to its super chic appearance, the fact that these babies are worth a whopping $8 million also adds to their hip-hop appeal. Able to go up to 200 mph, the super speedy car was actually featured in his video for "Otis" (not only is it pricey; it's also famous!), which also features rapper Kanye West.

8 Justin Bieber’s Liberty Walk 458

So, if you know anything about Justin Bieber, you'd know that he's made some bold yet questionable choices with regard to his vehicle selections thus far. A custom Ferrari revamped for the Biebs himself, Justin's custom Liberty Walk 458 is one of those vehicles that's hard to look away from.

A car customized by none other than West Coast Customs, this is undoubtedly the type of car most of those poor kids on Pimp My Ride wish they had gotten.

Complete with a Liberty Walk body kit, 20-inch Forgiato wheels, and an awesomely loud sound system (presumably to play his own hits), as well as this standout frozen blue wrap, this car essentially looks like a life-size Hot Wheels car, and honestly, what can get better than that for a young man who sang his way into infamy?

7 Yo Gotti’s Tiffany Lambo

A hip-hop Lambo of epic proportions, Yo Gotti's Tiffany Lambo is certainly a sight to behold. Said to be worth a whopping $490,000, the bold bright color makes this thing incredibly hard to miss. Furthermore, it doesn't help that he's been known to do things such as pull up to strip clubs, blast his music, and (of course) flirt with the talent.

Wrapped in Tiffany blue, the unique paint job on this machine is one of the most eye-catching I've seen thus far. Super sexy and chic, this baby also has some custom headlights that cause car lovers to stop and stare in awe. It's also kitted-out and complete with Tiffany windows and Forgiato F2.01 ECX 22 shoes, so it's almost impossible for a Lamborghini lover to not love this car.

6 Kanye West’s Sterling Moss

It's an awesomely futuristic-looking vehicle, but what else can we expect from the likes of Kanye West? It's a customized Mercedes Sterling Moss, and this amazing vehicle is powered by a 5.5-liter supercharged V8 engine, taken from the 722 SLR. The engine also has 650 horsepower. However, despite the various customization, the coolest part about this car is actually what's missing.

It's bereft of the roof and the windshield, and the reason this Sterling Moss is such a badass ride is that the missing elements make it look like something straight out of Back to the Future.

Moreover, it's limited to just 75 units, so it's highly unlikely that we'll see very many of these on the road. Some of us have a better chance of seeing the actual Back to the Future DeLorean.

5 Kendall Jenner’s Custom Camaro

She's arguably the odd woman out in a family full of attention-seekers, so it should come as no surprise to Kendall Jenner fans that one of her cars is this vintage beauty. Much unlike most of the members of her family, Kendall seems to stay true to her Jenner side by going with a classic vehicle rather than the latest auto novelty. Indeed, the model seems to be developing an affinity for vintage vehicles; she's been photographed behind the wheel of several such cars in the past.

A 1969 Chevy Camaro SS Convertible, Kendall's convertible is a classic beauty, much like the model herself.

A customized edition to her budding collection, the custom car comes complete with a triple-black finish, blacked-out tail lights, an automatic top, and much more. Moreover, the more down-to-earth Kardashian was even seen helping a homeless man while behind the wheel of this beauty. What a class act!

4 Deadmau5's Purrari (Ferrari)

Although you may not initially be a fan of this... eh, let's say, eccentric paint job, the back story behind it may make you change your mind. Nicknamed the "Purrari," the variety of custom badges Deadmau5 had added to the exterior has gotten the people down at Ferrari in quite a tizzy. In fact, the company was apparently so upset about his custom decals that they sent the entertainer a cease and desist letter, demanding the badges be moved immediately.

A tribute to Nyan cat, which was a character from a video game that launched in 2011 and maintains a randomly scattered yet cult-like following, the car served as an ultimate testament to the frivolous spending of ungodly amounts of mullah. Either way, the letters eventually worked, and the car was restored to its original condition. Lame.

3 The Bieb's Chrome Fisker Karma

OK, so many people aren't a fan of the chrome wrap on this one. However, if you're a personal fan of ostentatious displays of wealth, why wouldn't you be wrapping your vehicle in chrome?! Also, that's just the tip of the iceberg. Let's talk about those attention-grabbing LED lights he installed on the underbody. Yes, people will stare, but that's the idea! On the flip side, they're also illegal in California, so, I'm thinking the Biebs might've been consulting with some of his Canadian comrades while dreaming this baby up.

However, given that he got the car customized at his fave place, West Coast Customs, it's a wonder that they pulled a stunt right out of "Pimp My Ride" and created a car that was in no way practical for him to drive around on a daily basis. Either way, not all cars can be practical, and I'd love to see this baby pull up to any event—no matter who's behind the wheel.

2 Chris Brown's Camo Lambo

This is yet another celebrity car with an arguably tacky paint job. For those who don't like looking at Chris Brown's camo Lambo, I say, just close your eyes! As a personal lover of camo everything, I think this is one of the coolest paint jobs ever!  Based on the design of the camouflage Nike Air Foamposites, CB truly stuck to his hip-hop roots when he created this custom vehicle. But the paint job is just the tip of the iceberg!

Those patented, Lamborghini "suicide doors" are still too awesome to deny. And have you seen the wheels on this thing?! They're also painted candy red, and even those who aren't a fan of the paint job would probably love to get their hands on these. It's certainly not an everyday car by any means, but the reason I'm such a fan of celebrity custom cars is that they give us a glimpse into a life most of us will never live, just as the car gods intended.

1 Flo Rida’s Gold Bugatti

This is one of my favorite celebrity custom cars ever. "Flashy" is an understatement for Flo Rida's gold Bugatti. It was originally wrapped in chrome, but the rapper actually decided the chrome wrapping was too tame and instead opted for the gold package.

Purportedly worth $2.7 million, this is the most extravagant Bugatti paint job/ wrap most of us have ever seen. It was finished by the well-known company, Metro Wrapz.

The original color of this baby, which now has gold chrome on the massive wheels, was actually pearly white. There's no way you can miss this thing as it flies past you on the highways. Although some maintain this ride is quite tacky, either way, I'd like to assert it's anything but. I mean, what good is it to have a Bugatti if you can't wrap it in gold?!
