The ZR1 typically refers to the ultimate Corvette. It may not be available with the current Chevrolet Corvette C8, as this generation's ZR1 model has yet to arrive. Thus, the C7 ZR1 remains the king of the Corvette and among Corvette C7 ZR1 owners – including Mike of the Street Speed 717 YouTube channel — there’s always a high level of excitement when driving this American supercar on the road.

Corvette C7 ZR1 Was Out For Maintenance At LMR

It seems Mike has every reason to drive his 2019 Chevrolet Corvette C7 ZR1 in very high spirits. The American sports car has been away for some time, apparently for some tuning and maintenance work at Late Model Racecraft (LMR).

In another video on LMR’s YouTube channel, the tuner’s very own Steven revealed they were working on giving Street Speed 717’s Corvette C7 ZR1 a greater boost, so it can post a better time at the Pocono Raceway.

According to Steven, Street Speed 717’s Corvette C7 ZR1 had been making around 950 hp of output on the wheels. This was the previous tune for the Corvette C7 ZR1, allowing the Batmobile-like sports car to post respectable times.

After a while, Street Speed 717 brought his Corvette C7 ZR1 back to LMR for some maintenance and upgrades, such as installing a race port blower and a 120-mm throttle body.

A Thrilling Reunion With A More Powerful ZR1

LMR’s maintenance and tuning works for Street Speed 717’s Corvette C7 ZR1 resulted in a gain of around 50 hp (as Steven confirmed on the dyno). This means that up to this point, the car is now making 1,000 hp on the wheels. Since Mike has an event coming, he has to collect the ZR1 for a short time, before entrusting it once again to LMR.

Now back in his garage, Street Speed 717’s Corvette C7 ZR1 is ready to rumble. However, Mike had to change the tires of the car first, as the rubbers it was riding on weren’t suitable for the event. After replacing the tires to his preference, Mike excitedly took the Corvette C7 ZR1 to the road to finally experience its new 1,000 hp of power.

LMR Are Still Not Finished With The Corvette C7 ZR1

Mike’s Corvette C7 ZR1 didn’t disappoint. The overly happy looks on his face were enough to reveal his satisfaction with the new tune. Nonetheless, LMR isn’t finished with the Corvette, and they’re just waiting for it to come back for more tinkering work.
