Class, a sleek design and a car that transcends time and expectations are coming in 2019, and no, we’re not talking about the latest Mustang, nor the latest Chevrolet offering in the form of the Camaro.

Believe it or not, we’re talking about the newest Kia to come off the assembly line, the 2019 Stinger. Automotive enthusiasts were already excited for this one here but the specs were recently revealed to the public and those who were already quite excited for the model are now salivating like they’re expecting an impeccable meal.

And what was met with even more shock and surprise was the price, as it’s quite affordable at that, but we'll get to that in a little bit.

But amidst the excitement, still, there are many who ask: “Really? Kia?” Many fear and are reminded of the Pontiac modus operandi at the tail end of their existence, promoting car after car as “the one” that could save its fledgling reputation and terrible product. Not to say that Kia has a terrible product, or that they’re anything like the later generation of Pontiac vehicles, but they don’t have the reputation like Ford or say, Dodge, to merit this kind of attention … or do they?

Many are saying that this is not, in fact, the case and the specs speak for themselves, as they always should. Let’s take a look, shall we?

According to Kia itself: “The Kia Stinger is the perfect balance of everything that makes a back road thrilling and a long journey comfortable.” A broad and rather bold statement, but one that seems honest enough when the car is looked at on paper.

And talking about bold statements, it has been reported by autotrader.com, that the Stinger may, in fact, be a vehicle that can take on any mid-size luxury car on the market! How’s that for “fighting words?”

But can they back it up?

Right off the bat, we’re confused, because we're told it has a four-cylinder engine. But a closer look shows us that it’s a 2.0L turbocharged engine, so we can all relax. Let’s give the car the benefit of the doubt. Besides, the motor gets to the whopping 255 horsepower mark and 260 lb-ft of torque and goes from 0 to 60 in 5.9 seconds flat.

And if the old 4-cylinder bothers you that much, have no fear, because you’ve got the choice between that and a V6 3.3L twin turbo… 365 hp, 376 lb-ft of torque and it goes from o to 60 in a whopping 4.7 seconds!

The style is based on the Porsche Panamera and the car overall looks like a jewel in all seriousness and, oh yeah… before we mentioned an affordable price. Well, how does $41,895 sound; especially for a car of this caliber?

All in all, it looks like Kia may have something here, but of course, only time will tell.

Fingers crossed!
