Porsche’s latest version of their 911 sports car has been spotted in the wild wearing virtually nothing to conceal itself.

It looks like Porsche wants to be noticed if we’re to judge by the latest spy photos of the 2019 911. The 992-series vehicle is wearing virtually nothing in terms of camouflage and doesn’t even sport some obscuring paint job like we’ve seen on the upcoming Supra or Aventador SVJ. Porsche just doesn’t have anything to hide it seems.

Well, that’s just more for us to ogle at.

Overall it still looks very much like a 911, which isn’t saying a whole lot given the fact 911’s aren’t really cars to evolve quickly. This one is probably a Carrera judging by the lack of rear spoiler and the size of the brakes.

The biggest changes are in the front and rear where both fascias have been completely redesigned to accommodate a host of new lighting. In the front, the headlights are larger and refreshed with new LEDs. There’s also new side vents, a slightly updated grille, and a new hood with a different sculpt that appears lower down the outgoing 911.

In the rear, we have a new full-width LED tail light that follows Porsche’s current style of rear lighting. There’s a tiny bit of tape covering the edges as well as a bit in the middle, but we’re not sure what they’re trying to accomplish with such a tiny amount of plastic. It’s possible they’re covering up cameras or sensors for some new driver assist technology, and if so, the tape does a good job of obscuring it.

There’s also a bit of tape for what appears to be the third brake light just between the engine vents which have also been redesigned. That brake light is now vertically oriented rather than horizontal. The rest of the exterior is all classic Porsche 911.

As for what’s inside, we expect the 911 to retain its turbocharged flat-six but might get a slight power boost. The current Carrera gets 370 hp and 325 lb-ft from its 3.0-L turbo six-banger, so a 10-20 hp boost isn’t too far out.

Expect Porsche to make an official announcement soon since this cat is well out of the bag.
