Dodge has unveiled over 200 new parts for its 2019 Ram 1500 at the Chicago Auto Show.
The new Ram 1500 came out last month, continuing the time-honored tradition of automakers debuting next year’s car in January of the current year. Along with having basically the whole year to hype their truck, Dodge also carted it out with ten different trim levels to fit every possible truck owner’s needs: Laramie, Laramie Longhorn, Laramie Limited, Rebel, Night Edition, Sport, Big Horn, Outdoorsman, SLT, SXT, and the base level ST.
But that wasn’t enough for Dodge, so they also introduced a line of over 200 Mopar parts for the Ram 1500 so you can customize your pickup to within an inch of its gas-guzzling life.
To showcase only a small selection of those parts, Dodge brought out what AutoBlog calls Flame-Red 1500 Big Horn Sport 4x4 (which apparently means you can even combine trim levels). Attached to the big pickup is 35-inch tires, 18-inch Beadlock wheels, black fender flares and black aluminum running boards. A 2-inch lift kit raises the frame just enough to fit all those components without having the wheels rub against the wells.
The truck’s bed is where things get really interesting. Dodge fitted this pickup with the adjustable “Ram Rack”, which is basically a frame you can attach whatever the heck you want to. In this case, it’s a few kayaks you can use to row yourself to civilization after you’ve driven your truck into the middle of the mountains and run out of gas. It happens to the best of us.
And it’s not just cosmetic parts either. Mopar created a set of performance upgrades, such as the cold-air intake for the 5.7-liter Hemi V8 which is actually functional given the new hood. That massive engine normally puts out 395 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque, and you might even find a few extra colts with these upgrades.
Nestled into the bumper are a set of five-inch exhaust tips and a bed step that folds outward if you need the extra help.
The best part is that all Mopar parts come with the same warranty as the truck does and you can even have them pre-installed before you take delivery.
