New Carbon Fiber Components
The British carmaker has just built the first Pikes Peak Continental GT, and now it's giving the Flying Spur the aesthetics it deserves. Thus, it crafted sporty exterior elements of the new Styling Specification in high gloss carbon fiber. These sporty details include a new front bumper splitter, rear diffuser, and boot lid spoiler, as well as side skirts with three-dimensional electroformed Bentley badges.
For greater exclusivity, all of the carbon fiber exterior components of the Styling Specification for the Bentley Flying Spur were crafted by hand. Of course, there were developed to ensure they aren't just for show. Bentley's skilled craftsmen had these exterior components hand-crafted to exact tolerances, ensuring a precision fit once installed.
Visually Appealing
For visual appeal, the Styling Specification's carbon fiber exterior components feature a 2x2 twill pattern woven in the same direction for all exterior components. To ensure optimal strength and durability while making them as light as possible, the carbon fiber is laid-up in multiple layers. The result is an elegant yet dynamic-looking 2020 Bentley Flying Spur.
Because the Styling Specification isn't just to please the eyes but also to complement the Flying Spur's aerodynamic performance, all of them were refined using computational fluid dynamic (CFD) software. Furthermore, Bentley has seen to it that the carbon fiber components have minimal effects on the Flying Spurs' Park Distance Control, radar systems and antenna.
Tested For Performance
Likewise, Bentley assessed the Styling Specification's effects on top speed, stability, feel and performance (under both acceleration and braking). The carbon fiber exterior components were also validated for durability. Now, we have a Flying Spur that doesn’t just have sporty dynamics, but performance as well.
