The 2020 BMW Z4 M40i’s pricing has been leaked online with a base model starting at nearly $65,000.
We’ve talked a lot about the upcoming Toyota A90 Supra, but we haven’t spent much time discussing the Supra’s sister car, the BMW Z4. This is odd considering the Supra will have mostly BMW parts inside it when it debuts in January of next year.
It’s expected that the Supra will be priced somewhere within the realm of reasonable when it eventually takes the camouflage off, but we already have the pricing on the BMW Z4 thanks to a helpful leak over on the SupraMKV forums.
Base price starts at $64,695.
This price is for the heftier Z4 M40i model, which comes with a beefier 3.0-L turbocharged straight-six engine with 382 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. Power is routed through an 8-speed automatic transmission while zero to sixty is done in just 4.4 seconds.
The M40i will also come with a host of standard features, including LED headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels, satin aluminum exterior trim, and a black folding soft-top. On the inside, the M40i gets SensaTec-wrapped sport seats, aluminum trim, a 10.25-inch infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, Apple CarPlay, and rain-sensing wipers.
On the less powerful Z4 sDrive30i you get a 2.0-L turbo 4-cylinder with 255 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. The same 8-speed automatic transmission is found, but zero to sixty now takes 5.2 seconds--not bad, but not as good as the M40i.
Along with the same leak for the price of the M40i also comes an order form for the sDrive30i. While most of the standard interior features of the M40i are retained, the sDrive30i has to shell out for extra options, including heated seats, heated steering wheel, wireless charging, HUD, and a Harman Kardon surround sound system.
The sDrive30i hits dealerships in March of 2019, with the M40i to follow soon after. Expect the 30i to be priced around the $50,000 mark when we finally get official numbers from BMW.
