The Dodge Charger GT is entering its 2020 model year with a promise to deliver a year round 4-door performance sedan. Whether it’s winter, spring, summer or fall, the new Charger GT can now challenge any road made possible by the all-wheel-drive system that allows the performance sedan to also act as a rear-wheel-drive model.

Slippery roads – no thanks to snow, slush or rain – have always been the enemies of RWD models. AWD models are recommended in such cases, but they don’t offer the same performance and handling characteristics that RWD vehicles do.

But thanks to its new system, the 2020 Dodge Charger GT AWD will now be able to conquer any road condition with ease. This is because the AWD system in this Charger GT comes with an active transfer case and front-axle disconnect.

By default, the front wheels are disengaged, which means that all the power is sent to the rear wheels. But when sensors detect the need for extra traction, the front wheels are automatically engaged for AWD performance. A full-time AWD mode can also be activated by simply pressing a button.

Ample Power And Mean Looks

Sending power to the wheels of the Dodge Charger GT AWD is a 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine that can provide up to 300 hp and up to 264 lb.-ft. of torque. Power is distributed through a TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission standard complemented by a paddle shifters mounted on the performance steering wheel.

This 2020 model comes with the same mean looks of the Charger GT -- with standard performance hood, front and rear fascias. It rides on 19-inch aluminum wheels in a Satin Carbon finish shod with P235/55R19 BSW all-season performance tires. The Charger GT AWD also features a performance rear spoiler, projector LED fog lamps, and a ParkView rear backup camera.
