With a new year comes a new Hennessey! And while it's no "Exorcist," the Hennessey Camaro ZL1 1LE 850HPE packs more than enough punch for most earthlings. The company recently finished a new car and before it was delivered to its owner it was given a road test with obligatory burnouts on and around the Hennessey production facility and test track in Texas. Let's take a look at the Hennessey HPE 850 package and what makes it the perfect choice!

The Camaro ZL1 1LE comes from the factory with the Corvette Z06 supercharged V-8 making 650 hp. It's also equipped with tons of other performance goodies via the 1LE package so it can out brake, out handle and out perform high end exotica on the track. The Hennessey HPE 850 package takes it a step further increasing output to 850 hp at the rear wheels.

How do they do it? They swap out a pair of high flow cylinder heads, new heat exchangers, a pulley upgrade, performance valves, springs, and rockers, a high flow intake and free flow exhaust with headers. Hennessey even installs a custom ground cam to their specifications. Finally it's road tested before it's delivered to the customer.

It's No "Exorcist," But It's Still Ungodly Fast

No, it doesn't have the 1,000 hp of the "Exorcist" and certainly not the 1,200 hp of the "Resurrection," but it's still demonically fast. What kind of numbers does it produce? How's a 0 to 60 run of 2.7 seconds with a quarter mile time of 10.4 seconds at 135 mph for you? And, in 10 speed equipped cars it can go all the way up to 210 mph! This means the Hennessey Camaro ZL1 1LE HPE 850 is capable of going toe to toe with a Porsche Turbo S, Ferrari F8, or Lamborgini Aventador.

Let's Go For A Rip

After a round of dyno tuning and calibration, the cars are taken out back in Hennessey's road course and put through the paces. Components are checked for durability and the tires are checked for - ahem! - grip. It looks like a lot of fun and did I mention it comes with a 2 year, 24,000 mile warranty? Buckle up.
