Genesis is no stranger to the luxury car world as it has made some extremely luxurious sedan models like the Genesis G80 and G90. This time, the brand took a new approach by creating a mid-size SUV built with great exterior work, power, and luxury: The 2021 Genesis GV80.

Known to be the first SUV by Genesis Motor, the 2021 Genesis GV80 made its first appearance in January of 2020 and was officially launched in the United States in November as a 2021 model. It quickly made its way into dealerships from then on. Further, the Genesis GV80 gained recognition following the accident of the famous golfer Tiger Woods in February 2021.

The five-seat mid-size SUV comes with a unique, irresistible design that would make you want to buy it right off the bat, so to speak. And the SUV indeed feels as good as it looks. You have two powertrain options, an eye-catching interior, and multiple techs and safety features that give it confidence in the market. Speaking of which, the 2021 Genesis GV80 competes against the 2021 BMW X5, and other luxury choices like the Audi Q8 and Mercedes Benz GLE, just to name a few.

Priced at just under $50,000, the Genesis GV80 is one of the best options for folks with a great taste in Luxury.

Outshining some of the best Crossover SUVs on the market, here’s why the 2021 Genesis GV80 SUV will be a suitable choice for you.

Introducing the Genesis GV80 into the market was likely a thought-provoking task for the Automaker, especially when you consider that there are so many crossover SUVs in the automotive industry right now. What’s more, most of these SUVs try so hard to beat their opposition that they end up looking alike altogether.

In order to stand out from the rest, the GV80 came with burgeoning hallmark features. On the front fascia, the 2021 Genesis GV80 has a massive crest-shaped grille, which gives it a dominant appearance over its sedan variants. This approach to its design makes it critical for the brand’s success.

The GV80 also comes with Quad-LED headlights on its exterior, which are intersected by twin daytime running lights. These stretch to the taillights. What makes these lights cool is they are built right into the design, rather than having them on it. On the side, the front-end part resembles the sedan, but the rear-end gives it a more “wagon-like” appearance.

Takes On A Spacious And Luxurious Interior

First look at the interior of the GV80, you will immediately know how much the brand emphasized Luxury in their first crossover SUV. The inside of the Genesis GV80 certainly complements the beautiful exterior.

The 14.5-inch touchscreen brings a confident glow to the center of the dashboard. There is one issue with the touchscreen though. Rather than having it close to the driver, it was pushed further into the center of the dashboard, making it hard to reach, especially from the driver’s seat.

To tackle this, the GV80 has a well-designed knob right next to the transmission panel for easy navigation when you can’t reach the touchscreen. Speaking of navigation, you can swift through climate controls, music, and more. It’s also equipped with a 21-speaker sound system so you can enjoy a surround sound experience, no matter which seat you are in.

The Genesis GV80 has a large interior, with an optional third row of seats, which can be dropped for extra cargo space. Even though it has a third row of seats, reviews have shown that there isn’t much legroom in the back for an adult to sit, let alone stretch. It is only suitable for kids.

The Luxury SUV comes With Two Powertrain Options

Even though this was Genesis’ first cross-over SUV, the brand aimed at making a couple of options available for all the Genesis fans. Like the genesis G80 variant, the 2021 crossover SUV provides two powertrains: A standard 2.5-liter turbo-4 engine, which can produce 300 horsepower and 311 lb-ft. of torque; and a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V-6 which generates 375 horses combined with 391 lb-ft, and this is available as an upgrade.

in spite of their differences, both of these come with 8-speed automatic transmission, along with driving modes such as Eco, Sport, and, more. The coolest part about the driving modes is that you can create your own custom mode.

Its Mute Engines Make the SUV Completely Inaudible

Of course, you’d expect an SUV like this to have a huge engine under the chassis, and it does. Regardless of the size though, the twin-turbo V-6 engine is relatively silent when you are driving, even when you are revving it.

Here, you can enjoy your music, or the pre-loaded nature and ambient sound without needing to raise the volume to perilous limits just because the engine is loud. Being a luxury crossover SUV, this is a very strong feature in the 2021 Genesis GV80.

Safety is the part where the 2021 Genesis GV80 takes the cake, the frosting, and the baker too, so to speak. The Luxury SUV comes with a lot of safety features, for which it was awarded a Top Safety Pick+ award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

Its safety feature includes adaptive cruise control, automated emergency braking with a feature to detect pedestrians, and many more.
