Jeep has been known for making rough and off-road reliable vehicles since its inception in 1943. More recently, however, they have shown their ability to keep up with consumer needs and innovative technology in the form of electric vehicles and luxury iterations of models that somehow remain true to the Jeep vision.

The Jeep Wagoneer is not a new SUV for the company. They were manufactured from 1962 to 1993. However, the 2021 represents the return of an iconic name with a whole new level of greatness. Specifically made for larger families or groups and to be a luxury version, the 2021 Jeep Wagoneer is a premium reinterpretation.

With a plethora of amazing features, it is hard to pinpoint one as the coolest. The SUV has amazing style, comfort, roominess, and a ton of power. However, the absolute coolest feature of the 2021 Jeep Wagoneer has to be its luxury upgrades. Dripping upscale style choices at every opportunity, Jeep clearly put a lot of thought into making the Wagoneer feel lush.

Let’s take a closer look at why the luxury upgrading in the 2021 Jeep Wagoneer is its coolest feature!

Luxury Upgrades Everywhere

The best feature of the 2021 Jeep Wagoneer is the lush feel throughout. Jeep accomplished this by using the utmost care in their work. The interior is enhanced with cushy materials like Nappa and Palermo leather trim and suede. Additionally, the accents are done in American walnut and the cabin has dual-textured metal framing.

Another luxurious upgrade comes in the form of additional technology. Embedded in the smooth, classic lines of the dashboard is a suite of thin-film-transistor (TFT) liquid crystal displays. These displays are of a higher quality than regular LCDs and provide better visibility and sharper images.

These displays can work together as a single unit or independently and can show and control driver information, vehicle settings including interior lights and atmosphere, seating angles (the SUV features 24-way power seats), Uconnect features, and passenger entertainment. The navigation and exterior cameras can also be controlled and viewed through the screens.

There are even TFT displays in the rear seats for passenger use as well. The passenger touch screens are able to stream videos and offer Amazon’s Fire TV. Passengers also have the ability to help navigate from the rear screens and view exterior cameras as needed. The driver is blocked from being able to view the Fire TV with the use of a filter.

As an optional continuation of the upgrades on the Jeep Wagoneer, it is also available with a tri-pane panoramic sunroof that offers amazing outside views and another source of both entertainment and luxury for passengers. The luxury upgrades do not stop there, either. Jeep also upgraded the sound system to a cinematic, industry exclusive system by McIntosh. This is the first time McIntosh has partnered with an automobile manufacturer and the system includes twenty-three speakers with 1375 watts for unparalleled audio quality.

Other Features Of The Jeep Wagoneer

In addition to all the luxurious upgrades on the 2021 Jeep Wagoneer, there are many other features to love about the ride. One thing that stands out is the commitment to continued safety that Jeep has shown in this particular model.

The 2021 Jeep Wagoneer offers a driver assist system that helps to control the vehicle’s speed, braking, and spacing from other vehicles. Late in 2021, Jeep actually completed a recall and repair on around 100,000 of the vehicles to ensure software was updated to control airbags for the driver, passenger, and knee airbags. Although it was not a defect on every vehicle, they recalled them all to ensure the utmost safety, which although inconvenient, is an admirable way to handle the situation.

Under the hood of the 2021 Jeep Wagoneer is a 5.7-liter V8 with 392-hp and 404 lb-ft of torque. In the beefier and more expensive Grand Wagoneer, the engine is a 6.4 liter V8 with 471-hp and 455 lb-ft of torque. Both engines are paired with an eight speed automatic transmission and both are capable towers as well with capacities up to 9,850 lbs.

The Wagoneer is a mild hybrid currently, but parent company Stellantis has plans in the future to offer all-electric or hybrid vehicles as the bulk of its business, so there are likely plans to electrify further the Wagoneer in future models. The 2021 hybrid has a 48 volt battery pack which helps with fuel economy and enhances acceleration.

Jumping into the luxury SUV market with the Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer might have been a somewhat risky play for Jeep, but it seems to have paid off overall with a huge amount of interest in their specific brand of luxury mixed with power and ability. With a price that can easily jump upwards of $100,000 for a fully loaded model, it makes sense that Jeep packed in as many upgrades and enhancements as possible into the 2021 Jeep Wagoneer and undoubtedly the best feature of the model is the luxurious feel of the SUV.
