One glance at the 2021 Porsche Taycan RWD is simply enough to conclude that it’s a creation meant to race the God of the Winds. The elegant finish and the external cuts slice the wind as though it seeks nothing but vengeance.

Being a perfect blend of classy and savage, the new Taycan comes at a base price of $81,250, which is a $23,900 price drop from its immediate sibling. This rear-wheel-driven monster is less expensive and a tad bit less powerful, yet we could still consider this car an upgrade.

Apart from the 2021 Porsche Taycan RWD belonging in a league of its own in terms of flamboyance, the obvious question that comes to mind is whether the expenditure is worth it? Let's take a closer look.

The new Taycan belongs to the same league as its superior, the Taycan 4S. They both run on the same body architecture. Unlike the 4S being a dual motor-driven vehicle, the Taycan RWD is a single motor, rear-driven vehicle.

For starters, the engine is capable of producing 321 hp and 250 lb-ft of torque. Under the short boosts using launch control, the engine is capable of maximizing its output to 402 horses. The base model is equipped with a High Voltage Lithium-Ion battery that functions at 79.2 kWh. For performance enthusiasts, an upgradable option shoots the already existing stats to even higher bars.

The Performance Battery Plus with a battery of 93.4 kWh may cost an extra six grand, but the range is exponentially increased from 220 to 300 miles. The engine also grabs in more power and operates at 375 horses and with the same torque. Being assisted by launch control, there is an even more dramatic push to 470 hp with 263 lb-ft torque.

Unlike the 4S Turbo that demonstrates mere aggression with acceleration of 0 to 60 in 2.4 seconds, the RWD provides an acceleration of 0 to 60 mph in 5 seconds. Speedsters would grin knowing the new 2021 Taycan can burst through roads at top speeds of 143 mph.

Not only does it ride fast, but it also charges fast. Using high power stations, the battery is known to juice up from 5% to 80% within 22.5 minutes.

Customization is an option every driver would love to have within their reach when they’re paying for such beasts. From the sporty look on the exterior to the material finish inside, the new Porsche Taycan is simply a car that grinds the look in with overwhelming punches of performance.

The 17 different colors and seven other stellar wheels may seem to be plenty of choice for one to consider, but the users can find even more subtle and small features to customize according to their preferences.

Even the inner leather can be modified to sustainable leather, which has an eco-friendly tanning method that uses Olive Leaves. Apart from leather, Porsche even provides a leather-free option and utilizes Race Tex materials to compensate for it.

For the cherry on top, the interior tech has been moved towards the digital side. This all-new redefined cyberpunk ideology is like a great +1 with regards to interior styling. The new Porsche Taycan features a pious bold black instrument panel with a minimalistic design. The large round dials make it easier to find info about the ride. This panel is even customizable to four modes: Power, Map, Full, and Reduced.

With a handy and excellent gripped hand space, the car has decided to boldly eliminate most switches. Controls are either enabled manually or operated intelligently. The all-new Taycan features a large 8.4-inch touchscreen with enabled Haptic Feedback. This lets the driver turn on the Porsche Active Suspension Management with a simple touch.

The cockpit is essentially built keeping the driver's comfort in mind. With ample legroom, there is no scope of discomfort. You won't be surprised to hear Porsche decided to add an extra screen for the front passengers to avoid any distractions for the driver.

Last but not the least, the back trunk has a large volume of 14.3 cubic feet while the front cargo has 2.8 cubic feet. There is ample spacing to a crew-friendly electric sports car.

Compared to its aggressive siblings, this younger beast is definitely worth the buy. Apart from a four-wheel drive train, there is nothing that will let you down.

The rocket-linear acceleration being three seconds slower than the 4S Turbo, is something that would enable this sports car to easily fit in as a neighborhood car without having to lose out on its top speed. Porsche's interior is one that never lets you down either and the new Taycan RWD having a redefined interior with better displays and panels is worth the cost.

Although the new Porsche Taycan RWD can be upgraded with user preferences and may end up a bit more than its Base MSRP of $81,250, this vehicle can be defined as a true electric sports car.
