The 2021 Silverado HD Carhartt Special Edition is here to make any project easier.
Carhartt is a brand that concerns itself with ensuring that customers are wearing the right protection for the job. Whether that means staying warm outdoors during the winter months or ensuring that a dropped power tool doesn't crush your pinky toe, Carhartt is there for you.
They're also there for Chevrolet. The two companies teamed up back in 2016 for that year's SEMA with the 2017 Silverado 2500HD Carhartt concept, which Chevy says in their press release "exceeded even our highest expectations."
So now they're back again with for the 2021 Silverado HD Carhartt Special Edition.
Based on the Silverado 2500HD LTZ with an extended cab and Z71 Off-Road Package, the Carhartt Special Edition includes such off-road goodies as twin-tube Rancho shocks, skid plates, and Hill Descent Control. You also get a spray-in bed liner to keep your bed from rusting out.
Chevy didn't mention which engine you get in the Carhartt Edition, but the LTZ Silverado can have either the 6.6-L gas V8 with 401 hp and 464 lb-ft of torque or the 6.6-L Duramax turbodiesel with 445 hp and 910 lb-ft of torque. The diesel gets a 10-speed automatic transmission while the gas V8 sticks with a 6-speed automatic.
The Carhartt stuff all comes in the form of aesthetic enhancements. You get a Mosaic Black Metallic paint job with pinstripe detailing in Carhartt gold, along with exterior badging on the doors and tailgate. A set of 20-inch wheels are wrapped in all-terrain tires, while a soft rollup tonneau will keep your bed's contents from jumping out on the highway.
Chrome grille surrounds and body-colored front and rear bumpers give the Carhartt special edition a sleek look, while the interior comes with "exclusive two-tone Jet Black and Carhartt Brown leather-appointed seats featuring unique stitching and Carhartt embroidered headrests."
The 2021 Silverado HD Carhartt Special Edition will be on display at this year's SEMA show and will be available for purchase in the fall of 2020.
