The Porsche Taycan has been quite the hit since it launched in 2019. The all-electric affair from Stuttgart has impressed with its power, performance, and comfort. Porsche though is not resting on its laurels and is expanding the Taycan Range with the Cross Turismo, and the car has made its world debut and becomes the new off-road version of the Taycan. All-wheel drive and an adaptive air suspension ensure the car is able to handle some pretty tough terrains when off-road.

The Cross Turismo Is Shown On All Manner Of Terrains

In a video premiere and press release, Porsche says the car can handle all-terrains and cross continents around the globe. The trailer shows the Taycan being put through its paces on gravel and dirt, carrying bikes on the back to highlight its credentials. Porsche took the car across five continents in six weeks to push it to its limits.

Sequences on tarmac are included to remind us that despite its off-road capabilities, this is still very much a car that can be used on the roads. Porsche brand ambassador Aksel Lund Svindal also makes an appearance, set to a snowy backdrop and footage of him driving the car in the freezing and snowy conditions of Norway.

Four Variants Are In The Cross Turismo Range

The Cross Turismo range itself will include four variants. These are the Taycan 4 Cross Turismo, the Taycan 4S Cross Turismo, Taycan Turbo Cross Turismo, and the Taycan Turbo S Cross Turismo. The Turbo and Turbo S are the high-performance versions of the car. The Taycan 4 Cross Turismo is the entry model for the range with a 280 kW battery, the 4S Cross Turismo increasing that output to 360 kW. The off-road package comes as an option, adding 30mm of extra ground clearance to allow it to handle tougher terrains.

Cross Turismo For Those Who Live Life To The Fullest

Porsche says the car is for those who want to live life to the full, and, as their final point in the video says, those who like to go off the beaten track. This is highlighted by those rear carriers, which are able to handle up to three bicycles, including Porsche’s new e-bikes the eBike Sport, and the eBike Cross.
