There's some good news to kick off the new year in the automobile world - and it's not another EV.

Here we have a teaser from BMW of the BMW M3 Touring, which is coming, we’re not sure when but when it arrives it is certain to make a splash.

It’s something to be celebrated by all since it was first teased last year, it has been on the mind of many, and we can’t wait for its arrival.

This time around, it’s a video, not just a render – and we get more than just a quick glimpse of the much-awaited wagon from BMW.

The BMW M3 Touring Has Been Teased In A Video Drifting

In the video which is posted to Instagram, we’re treated to the wagon stretching its legs on a snowy landscape with a helicopter giving instructions so that the M3 can draw 2022 in the snow.

This is interesting because it seems to confirm that it will be officially unveiled this year and possibly even enter production.

The video was posted right at the end of 2021 features a camouflaged M3 Touring and shows its ability in adverse conditions – possibly due to the combination of 4-wheel drive and some good snow tires.

It has been revealed that it will have an automatic transmission to go with that all-wheel-drive and will probably be exclusively available in Competition spec with 500 hp.

Either way, BMW knows this is a long-awaited model and is keen to keep it in our minds while we wait.

The BMW M3 Will Be Every Bit As Capable As The Sedan

With the standard M3 sedan starting its life in 1986, it has grown and become much more powerful and capable over the years.

In 2020, it started its 6th generation complete with a new face which has divided attention somewhat, anyway it's also what’s under the hood that counts.

With a twin-turbo 3-liter straight-six and 480 hp and a healthy 406 lb.-ft of torque, it weighs just over 3700 lb. – if you go up to the BMW M3 X-Drive Competition (which you can configure on BMW's US website) which is expected for the upcoming Touring, it should boast the same 510 hp, 480 lb.-ft of torque and a 3.5-second dash to 60 mph, which will be a little more with the extra weight of the wagon rear attached to the car.

Our appetites are whetted, and we can’t wait to hear more about the car, perhaps there will be more surprises to come in this year new, the 50th anniversary of the ‘M’ motorsport brand for BMW.
