The spectacular Ford GT LM edition is set to finish its production run at Multimatic towards the end of 2022. You're not wrong to be absolutely starstruck by this magnificent beast, but it does unfortunately mean that with it, comes the end of Ford's reborn GT. This glorious machine has been created by the ever-growing American multinational company to honor the 2016 Le Mans blazing win. As you may have already guessed, the model's initials represent the race it was built to compete in - Le Mans.

Ford have kept the hardware beneath the GT LM effectively the same as the rest of the GT series-production examples, but a cool change can be seen with a cool badge made from the crankshaft of the third-place Ford GT from 2016.

The Ford GT supercar is set to take an almighty bow out at the end of this year, but don't worry, it won't be leaving quietly. It's a complete design masterpiece, leaving gearheads from all around the world wanting to know more bout the up-and-coming debut. Here's everything you need to know about the Ford GT LM edition.

Now, let's talk power. The Ford GT LM gets its juice from a 3.5-liter turbocharged EcoBoost V6 that makes a booming 660 hp, and 550 lb-ft of torque. The GT LM takes huge breaths through a 3D-printed titanium exhaust, which features a cyclonic design in its tips. That stampede of power travels through a seven-speed automatic transaxle before smashing the rear wheels.

The Ford GT LM can top out at 216-mph with ease, giving the effect of breezing past its onlookers. Further performance enhancers include a carbon fiber chassis, aero-optimised body, and adjustable suspension - the GT lives and breathes pure power. It's a shame to bid goodbye to one of America's most loved supercars, but what a send-off it will receive.

If its mega engine wasn't already enough to impress you, this certainly will. The Ford GT LM can be purchased with either red or blue interior. These two striking colors have been chosen to pay tribute to the red and blue car livery seen on the race-spec Ford GTs. This sporty splash of color will cover the driver's seat, whilst the passenger seat will be finished in a luxurious ebony Alcantara. If Ford's customers wanted to add that extra bit of flare, buyers can choose to have a red or blue tint in the exterior carbon fiber aero features, which will further add to the car's sporty feel.

Making this special edition Ford GT LM truly distinctive are LM-specific badges which can be found inside the sleek cabin. The design is unusual yet stylish - which is pretty sweet.

Overall, the cabin mixes both sporty and sleek, luxurious styles, allowing the lucky driver to feel that exhilarating fiery feeling of cruising in a supercar, and the opulence of a design masterpiece.

If you were planning on splashing out on one of these gorgeous cars, that may be a struggle. Ford has revealed its plan to build only 20 GT LMs to wrap up the production line of the GT. This will take place towards the end of the year, with deliveries starting in fall. It has not yet been revealed just how much this magnificent beast will cost, although, it has been estimated to be slightly over Ford's base GT price of $450,000.

Those 20 GT LMs previously mentioned will only represent the road legal version of the awesome sports car. Ford, along with Multimatic, will roll out an additional four track-only special GTs for those who don't wish to add any extra miles to their domestic supercars. Ford has not yet released plans for producing a successor, although it is entirely possible that the American company's designers are working hard away in a back room on an EV version of the GT for the future.

We apologize if your dreams of cruising through the freeways in a GT LM have been crushed, as it's probably not even that likely that you will see too many of this automotive spectacle in the same neighborhood, but at least, we can admire this spectacular creation for what it is... a truly amazing tribute.
