Ferrari has become the latest Formula 1 team to take the covers off its 2022 F1 challenger, with the new F1-75 launched ahead of the new season. As in 2021, Ferrari will again have Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz at the wheel of its cars, Leclerc entering his fourth season with Ferrari while Sainz enters his second with the Scuderia. The New F1-75 looks to be the most radical car launched of 2022 so far, with a few innovative features and a retro paint job to go with it.

Harking Back To The 1990s

The departure of Phillip Morris International from Ferrari as a sponsor has given the team more freedom when it comes to its livery design. The Scuderia has revealed a car in red and black, harking back to the Ferrari F1 cars of the 1990s. A darker red is the primary color, with black covering the rear wing and the front wing, and part of the engine cover. Black numbers adorn the nose and side of the car, and new sponsor Santander is visible towards the rear of the F1-75. It is the technical details however where this Ferrari really stands out.

The Most Radical 2022 F1 Car So Far With A Modular Nose

This car is by far and away the most revolutionary we have seen for 2022. The nose is a very radical design, with a small slot in the middle just below the Ferrari logo and a ‘modular’ nose concept, something not seen in Formula 1 before. Essentially, the design is now split into two separate elements, the structural element towards the main chassis, and a separate profile that runs towards the front wing. The innovation does not stop there, either.

Scooped And Sculpted Sidepods

The F1-75s sidepods are the most ingenious so far. The sidepods have a sculpted scoop down the middle, something you could call a dimple. These look like they are all about forming a bit of a curved edge to direct airflow towards the rear beam wing. No other F1 car launched so far has such a radical design. Ferrari took third place in the 2021 Constructors' Championship, and they make no secret of their ambition to return to winning ways in 2022. The power unit has reportedly also undergone some big changes over the off-season, as Ferrari look to claw back the lost advantage it had with its controversial 2019 engine.
