The year 2020 has certainly been a strange one for us all. We are spending much more time in our homes, and have no idea when normality will return. However, a few things haven’t changed. And one of those is that we are still getting plenty of new vehicles making their debuts. And Infiniti is one of the latest car manufacturers to launch a vehicle. Introducing the QX55 SUV, an all-new model that, thanks to the global pandemic, was revealed in a virtual launch.

So, let's dive in and look at some of the finer points of this car. Infiniti says it has a provocative shape, and it will be heading to the United States and Canada in the spring of 2021. It has 20-inch wheels as standard, is fitted with wireless Apple CarPlay compatibility, and features a highly intelligent all-wheel-drive system, standard for all models in North America.

Infiniti Chairman Peyman Kargar said, "The new INFINITI QX55 is a statement-maker, designed to deliver the first-class comfort and stand out everywhere it goes. It's a unique fusion of style and substance.”

Under the hood of the QX55 is where the magic happens. It features the company’s award-winning variable compression four-cylinder turbo engine, producing 268 bhp and 280 lb-ft of torque. The power is delivered via a continuously variable transmission that has a manual shift mode. The all-wheel-drive system, as mentioned above, is standard on all models in the US and Canada.

The design features all of the brand's design hallmarks such as the signature double-arch grille, but this is now complemented by an origami-inspired mesh pattern, adding a slightly different look over your previous Infiniti. This pattern is flanked by standard LED headlights that are supposedly set to mimic the human eye. We will leave that to you to judge for yourself! The QX55 is set to launch in the USA and Canada next spring, and will also be made available globally.
