If you think of off-road vehicles, one of the first names to pop into your mind is Jeep. Over the years, this fully-fledged American brand has made a name for itself across the world as a formidable off-road brand. Jeep started as a military vehicle before transitioning into civilian vehicles post-war.

Under the Jeep belt, different badges are synonymous with where they perform best. For example, the Wrangler is known for its prowess on rough terrain. Nonetheless, this has not stopped Jeep from venturing out into the tarmacked roads.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee is the best-selling Jeep in the United States, and it also tops the list of the most popular vehicles as well. It might be because it is something that people are familiar with, this being because Jeep is yet to make any changes to it.

Let's take a closer look at the 2022 Grand Cherokee Trackhawk.

Introduction To The Grand Cherokee Trackhawk

For five years now, Jeep has held back when it comes to the Cherokee. This has seen this SUV remain to be the go-to staple ride for those looking to buy a Jeep. However, if you are looking to go off the books just a little, then you should consider getting the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk.

This vehicle combines all of the Cherokee’s perks of being an SUV with an extra boost when it comes to rough terrains. Jeep announced that the Trackhawk is slated for 2022, and here is everything we know about the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk.

With the Cherokee remaining unchanged for the past five years, it is hard to sometimes notice the changes made. This is even harder when it comes to the Trackhawk. From the leaked spy footage, it is clear Jeep is still going with what they know best. The grille, for instance, seems to be unchanged.

For the 2022 Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, the changes seem to be subtle, and you have to look close enough to spot any. One of the changes made on the outside of this ride is the presence of two badges. One in the back that says “Trackhawk” and one on the door that says “Supercharged.” Additionally, if you look at the 2022 Trackhawk from an angle, you can spot the new yellow Brembo brake calipers.

It is also notable that this new ride sits an inch lower than its predecessors. Jeep has also added a quad-tip exhaust to the Trackhawk. Besides these subtle changes, Jeep has stuck with the same design as the 2022 Trackhawk as it has with all its other vehicles.

While the external looks unchanged, Jeep seems to have gone all out when it comes to the interior and the power train. In previous models, the Trackhawk featured an optional Hemi V8. For the 2022 trim, there is speculation that the Trackhawk will pack a 6.2-liter Hellcat V8.

This powertrain will see the Trackhawk power amped up from 707 horsepower to 710 horsepower. On a 0 to 60 MPH run, it is estimated that the 2022 Grand Cherokee Trackhawk will clear a 3.5 seconds time. All this power can be credited to the supercharged engine and launch control capabilities added to the car.

The 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk may have the same tech features and components as its predecessors. These features include the Quadra-Trac on-demand 4WD system that maintains stability and maneuverability under the vehicle’s heavy engine.

The car’s interior is guaranteed to be roomier with the option of third-row seating, just as with the 2021 model. It will also feature a race-inspired interior finishing and features. These will include black Laguna leather seats that come standard with bolsters. The steering wheel will also blend with the race theme.

Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk Price Tag

It is estimated that the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk will cost $90,000. Many have stated that this will perhaps be the most expensive Jeep model. This being that it costs three times the price of the Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo that has a starting price of $35,000 for the base model. While there are more expensive trims of the Cherokee Laredo that come in at $60,000, nothing is yet to match the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk.

Currently, the most expensive Jeep has a price tag of $87,600. This is the 2021 Trackhawk. It is followed closely by the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT that comes in at $70,000.

Due to the COVID pandemic, there was a delay of the 2022 Grand Cherokee Trackhawk debut that was set to be at the Detroit Auto Show. So, it is likely that the debut will happen anytime in mid or late 2021. This is when the updates, upgrades, and pricing will be well-known. Until then all we can do is speculate.

But if the past is anything to go with, the chances are that Jeep will stick to what it knows best and not change much in the 2022 model.
